https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/visions-of-the-future/ I thought of Squadron Posters the second I saw NASA's poster art. I thought maybe Squadron Posters did some of the design... Maybe the style is just one of those viral/in vogue design things that I don't keep up with. Like Squadron Posters, I think they look cool.

So my unit is taking a jet to the Travis airshow and figured this would be a good opportunity to try and help out our morale fund/booster club and sell some swag. Anyone have any advice on what actually sells? Zaps, patches, tshirts, water bottles, etc? Any big differences between civilian airshows and ones on military bases? Thanks.

Does anyone know of any documents that would explain (hopefully in layman's terms) how to read an OPR? Long story short, I switched over to the Navy Reserve and I'm going before an application board soon and I need to include some of my last OPRs from the AF. The board won't know how to tell a good OPR from a bad one. They won't understand things like stratifications, etc. Is there anything out there that would decipher OPR merits? Thanks!

Gents, found out my wife had been having two affairs over the past 5 months. One while I was deployed. I got video/picture evidence of the affair through legal means. Tried to get her to work it out through marriage counseling but she just served me papers this week. We have 3 kids. I am currently an ANG dude part timer and start at a major airline here in April. Got any advice? Currently living in Florida. Mostly worried about her going after a huge chunk of my measly first year pay and my VA Disability. Fighting for 50/50 with the kids even though she is a terrible mother, but now the kids are just pawns. Thanks bros.

I just arrived at my first duty station and would like to know if there is a way to extend my time here as long as possible? Thanks folks Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Baseops Network mobile app

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-47323045 Good video. Thousands of people cheered a flypast honouring 10 airmen who died when their plane crashed in a park 75 years ago. The US bomber came down in Endcliffe Park, Sheffield on 22 February 1944, killing everyone on board. A campaign for a flypast started after a chance meeting between BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker and Tony Foulds, who tends a park memorial. A tearful Mr Foulds was given a rousing round of applause as the planes flew over. He said: "This is unbelievable." Relatives of the aircrew and thousands of people from across Britain paid their respects as the planes roared over the memori…

  12. I thought there was a general TDY thread but I can't find it (if it exists). Has anyone used Turo on a TDY instead of going through a traditional rental car company? If so, have you gotten reimbursed? If I can find a nice car on Turo for the same price as the shitbox Hertz is going to give me, why can't I use Turo instead? For those of you unfamiliar with Turo, it's basically AirBnB for cars.

If someone who is AD where to complete flight school and become trained in their new air frame, what is the chance that they would stay in a flying job for the remainder of their career? Does the AF often reassign pilots to non-flying jobs? Or do pilots have high job security (I.e. they get to stay flying if they want to)?

As an instructor currently in the pilot training enterprise, I think it's safe to say that "UPT Next" has enough momentum that it's here to stay. https://warontherocks.com/2019/01/rebuilding-the-forge-reshaping-how-the-air-force-trains-fighter-aviators/ That being said, I'm interested in hearing what FTUs and Ops Units are seeing with regard to baseline results.

99, Just got my approval for transfer into the KC-135 community and I'll be heading to Mildenhall in about a year. I've been flying helicopters with the Navy for about 15 years so I'm looking for some gouge/guidance on what I need to start studying wrt Air Force specific flight rules as well as Air Force-isms in general. I realize I have a learning curve ahead of me so I'm trying to get ahead of the game. For reference, my background, active Navy O-4 helo driver with about 2,700 hours in both fixed and rotary wing aircraft. And before anyone asks, I would rather go to the Air Force and get my retirement than get out now and slog through the regionals to make …

While luvvy actors and the liberal elite give each other a pat on the back for being so wonderful (i'm talking about Oscar nominations, if that's not clear), this video reminded me of the people who really make the world go round.

  19. I’m curious to know how the “community” or “brotherhood” of pilots compares in Active Duty to ANG/AFR. I’ve heard that the pilots in AD fighter squadrons are a very close knit community, and I am wondering if the same is true for reservists / part timers? I have some buddies who are SEALs or Marines and they treat each other like family. Is this also a trend in the pilot community? Sent from my iPad using Baseops Network mobile app

  23. Greetings, my name is Andrea , and I am completing my Master's Degree in Human Resources Management with Thomas Edison State University. For my Capstone, I would like to tackle the issue of the Fighter Pilot shortage in the Air Force. My problem statement is as follows: -In this study, I will investigate the causes and proposed solutions to the fighter pilot shortage described by upper leadership versus the actual pilots themselves. What I mean when I say upper leadership, I am referring to the causes and proposed solutions that have already been publicized, mainly in the Air Force Times. This survey is completely anonymous and your input would be grea…
