  1. The American population is inundated with propaganda on a daily basis - that’s what 95% of MSM and social media produces. So we should shut down the MSM and SM companies since the average American is incapable of sifting through all that bullshit? A nanny state with absolute control of information release to the public (other than classified obviously) is egregiously against every fiber of this country, and I cannot believe someone on here is advocating for that.

  3. Don't you believe this is a matter of national security? Putin is clearly a danger to US foreign interests. The Tucker interview has given him more credibility and legitimacy than he could have hoped for otherwise. What classified info could have given him a greater PR victory? Tucker even suggested in the interview that the US government was not working for the interests the American people. Creating this sort of doubt undermines the framework by which your freedom of speech is protected. It's self-destruction. A crisis of trust, and it's being exacerbated. It's no wonder Putin appeared to have zero sense of urgency about anything. We think we're waging a war of attrition, and he thinks he's watching a slow-motion implosion of the West. At what point do you attempt to stop the spiral that erodes support for our government? "We'll just elect a better government." - Then the other side declares the election was rigged, and we descend further into the spiral. The path you're advocating for is a short one to what some might call treason, sedition, and providing aid and comfort to the enemy, which is what Tucker did. If we don't reign this in, those ultimately lead to revolution. The public wants stability, not chaos. Keeping Putin out of media is a small price to pay for our national security and preservation of the US, which in turn guarantees your inalienable rights.

  4. first of all general chang is the finest flag officer i have had the privilege of knowing. his commitment to this country is ironclad. second, to answer your question, when retired service members see the recruiting numbers are in trouble, and the air force puts out a call to help, you are duty (dare i say honor) bound to put your civilian career aside and serve. you signed a oath for life and should honor that oath.

  5. Good times to be had no doubt and that’s less than 2hrs from my base. Definitely less dragging around than AMS (depending on your hotel location)and as I mentioned before, Hunter B obviously has had no trouble thriving within the confines of the domestic fishbowl. Plenty of fun to be had at less dense areas and I bid for those for quiet times every so often - Half of our folks prefer hanging out downtown Sydney understandably while I chill on the beach balcony with a stogie. Currently in HKG having just flown in with a new hire just 27yrs on the planet. Hysterical watching folks broaden their horizons. Can’t imagine where he’s run off too especially during the Lunar New Year. May never see him again and I wish him well.🤣

  6. Yeeeeaaaaaah, I thought the whole purpose of DEI was this notion that there were massive sources of untapped talent out there just waiting to be accessed...a veritable HR gold rush if you will. Am I to believe it's not going as expected??? Nothing says diversity quite like hiring back the same people who already worked here once upon a time. 🤣🤣🤣

  7. You're right on that one, I try to fly as little as possible at my airline gig! Averaging 20 hours/month right now...need to deflate those numbers a bit though. Well at work anyway. Unfortunately I have to pay for my fun flying these days...some of the best money I spend though. Anywho, on topic, it's really hard to want to go back to an organization that seems to try their level best, to make life harder for the individual. I guess if you were in a non-combat coded squadron, that never goes TDY, it wouldn't be terrible. On an unrelated note, has the new pay system been rolled out yet? I'm told it's going live Jan of 2020 and will fix part timer flight pay.

  9. I listened to the whole interview, good thing I like history. Of course, the cool kids who appear on Sunday morning news shows scream he is not a journalist but a traitor (to the class of people who are on the DC cocktail party circuit which he used to be part of). My 5 years at Andrews being the fly on the wall made me despise these people both parties. The question I want answered, who the hell is telling the truth? This Tucker interview came across my feed, now I'm scratching my head. Who do I believe, who did I serve, we all know Iraq was a lie.

  10. I’m following the process and will keep you guys updated. Honestly knowing the guy, I think he’d be spun up to be an FTU IP pretty quick and do it better than some of the foreigners we have to spin up. I wouldn’t think we’d waste 6 months TX/IPUG for 1.5 yrs of instruction…..then I realize it’s the USAF so economics make no sense. I’ve seen worse. 11. Yes, politicians say lots of stuff, they're playing to the crowd. It's what they do. But square all the BS with Bernie's position change. That is a hell of a change for someone who claims the socialism (very ideological) mantle. My point is that American politics is driven by tribalism at the moment. Anything that Red team says must be opposed by Blue team. Anything bad for Blue team is inherently good for Red team. Etc. No, wanting a secure border with orderly, legal immigration with numbers based on the needs of the country is not xenophobic. But xenophobia is a very common human tendency* and if you can't see Trump playing to that in his stump speeches from the 2016 era, I don't know what to say you. Yes he was mis-quoted by retard journalists to make it sound worse, but it was unnecessary. *If you've read Jonathan Haidt's work, openness vs not may be one of the underlying foundational political personality traits.

  12. Same was true of Comanche. That thing was an albatross around the neck of wider more critical acquisitions (even if it had worked). Killing it paid for the Army to make the fleet entirely D model Apache, put MTADS across said fleet, and upgrade the Chinook fleet to Fox model which was miles more critical in the GWOT fight than a stealth Kiowa prone to damage maintained by guys putting blade paint on the skin because “black equals stealth.” As much as we wanted it all, FARA was the long sell for the Army. I’m already getting talks from ATIC guys asking for 64F concepts they want to compile for the next senior leaders discussion. Suddenly the end of the railroad track for going beyond Version 6 or 8 no longer seems like a hard stop. Sky is the limit… well… 17.5k is the limit probably, but that’s still Sky. 15. This dude is acting like he’s non-profit CEO with access to Denver’s tax revenue to spend instead of a mayor. Dems here are viciously throwing out propaganda to repeal the Colorado Tax Payer Bill of Rights (TABOR) that sets tax revenue caps for the state (any excess must be refunded to the tax payers) and any tax rate changes must be voted on by CO citizens (Dems get around that by calling it a “fee,” not a “tax). They’re trying to repeal it since they don’t want voters to have a say on them spending tax revenue. Johnston is also whining that surrounding Denver Metro cities aren’t willing to tank their operating budget to support migrants. Denver does own/operate DEN and Red Rocks, so when this idiot starts furloughing people, expect significant delays and cancellations.

  16. I'd bet dollars to donuts that this guy thinks cutting services will somehow cause his constituents to apply national level pressure to Texas to stop the flow. Of course it won't work that way, but I think a lot of people are gradually coming around to the realization that we have been electing sociopathic clowns to all positions of power for quite a while now. Legitimately, these are people who are exceptionally good actors, matched only by their exceptionally weak intellects.

  21. I am at a loss for words, WTF are these idiots thinking? Stop retired pay. Stop VA pay. No choice of duty station. No promotion opportunity. Your time on VRRAD does NOT count towards time in service. Sooo come work in a crap hole of our choosing, for half pay, no promotion and its doesn't count towards your retirement. FU!

  22. Isn't it cynical to say the American media is propaganda and the American public is stupid. What is America if not its citizens? If it is that stupid, why would you want them becoming involved in an issue they may not understand? This interview is only going to add to the Pro-Putin propaganda by a substantial amount and there will likely be more people who believe it than disbelieve it. It seems we have two options: 1. Decrease the amount of Pro-Putin propaganda (restrict Tucker Carlson and his ilk by some fashion) 2. Increase the amount of Pro-US/NATO propaganda. This is the more difficult option. Perhaps, as you say, we could let someone else digest it for us, but who should we listen to? The most important thing is preserving the US, which means preserving US global leadership. I believe alternate viewpoints should be allowed on most issues, but those that threaten our national security and global dominance can't be allowed to spread unchecked. There was a large amount of anti-war sentiment during Viet-Nam, and how did that turn out for us? Lots of people began to grow weary of our involvement in AFG, and that didn't turn out so well either. I think we've learned our lesson. We jailed people for Jan 6 and I think we even shot one. There hasn't been any massive anti-government protests since. Freedom cannot be enjoyed unless there is a government that provides it to you. Allowing anti-US sentiment to proliferate is like shooting yourself in the foot. Assange and Snowden mishandled classified information, likely giving aid to our enemies. Neither are allowed to roam free. But giving our #1 enemy a massive platform to rationalize his actions and express his anti-US viewpoints to hundreds of millions of people is somehow less criminal? It doesn't make sense.

  24. Bottom line, the airlines made being a pilot absolute dog shit for anybody who had to go through the regionals before making it to a legacy carrier. They took advantage of deregulation, mergers, and bankruptcies to rape and pillage the pilot pipeline for years. They did such a good job taking advantage of the regional pilots that everybody told their friends and family to pursue other careers. I remember when I was a FAIP having the regional pilots show up and talk about how they had to join the guard because they couldn't live off of $15,000 a year anymore. Absolutely insane that someone flying dozens/hundreds of people around the country everyday would be making that type of wage. So now we get the crocodile tears from the airlines about how there aren't enough pilots in the pipeline, and how unfortunate it is they have to pay the regionals so much money now to keep them from jumping ship. Fuck these guys. They took on billions of dollars of debt so they could buy back shares and bump their share-based compensation a few pennies each quarter, and they have the audacity to cry to us about manning and compensation. The 1500 hour requirement was put into place because of aviation mishaps and a reassessment of what is required to operate in the modern airspace. Absolutely nothing in that regard has changed, so neither should the experience requirements. If we keep rewarding these shitty executives by letting them run to the government to solve their self-induced problems, we're just going to get the same behavior over and over again.
