It started with all the Bama homers and they are crying again this year....with THREE losses, including a loss to Vanderbilt and getting RUN by a mediocre OU.

And had a single 1st round game been an upset, or hell I would’ve settled for even a close game, it all would be moot and we’d be talking about how great the new playoff system is. I’m sure next week, BSU and ASU will suffer similar fates and we’ll be down to quasi familiar 4 teams vying for another title. The only truly unknown is how this new NFL without a salary cap evolution of college football fucks up everything we loved about college football.

I think I got the sarcasm. I had made a similar statement early in the season about the SEC schools looking tough. Others disagree now, I’m not so sure it matters. At this point, the only conference looking like a complete fraud is the ACC.

That’s an interesting perspective, can’t say I disagree. We have to see how it all settles out, but I think we may be seeing a significant shift where the Republicans and Dems have switched places as “the party of the people” and “the party of the elite ruling class, billionaires, etc.” The GOP will really ride this rocket ship if they’re successful (and this will take voters doing their part) at flushing the establishment Rs from their ranks.

The way you constructed that sentence, I would’ve guessed you received your higher education from an SEC school. Also, I’m not quite sure what your point was. There were 2 SEC schools in the first round. Texas killed their ACC opponent and Tenn got killed by their Big 10 opponent. The other two games featured non SEC schools getting massacred on public tv. Who would you have put in over TX and TN? SMU, Clem, IU couldn’t have done much worse than any SEC team or any other conference opponent. If the SEC had lost all 4 games, I’d say your point was proven, but following this playoff round, the Big 10 goes 2-1, SEC 1-1, and the ACC appears to be the weakest conference going 0-2 in the playoff.

You guys are arguing over whether or not she's a real Democrat or Republican as though we aren't in the middle of another generational transformation of the parties. There is no party ideology right now. Obama was the death of the Kennedy-to-Clinton Democratic party and Trump was the death of the Nixon-to-W.Bush Republican party. We have no idea what the next versions of the parties will look like, so how can we know who is a "real" member?

I call it “excessive professional deference”. Sure, you’ve been in longer and I respect your technical competence, but the last time I checked, an O-3 or O-4 still outranks an E-7, 8, or 9.
