Is IFF conducted at Sheppard? If so, when I graduate will I remain at Sheppard or is there a chance I could get sent to Moody? Since DITY moves seem to be popular with folks on this site, if anyone is in San Antonio at the moment and plan to do a DITY move in the near future, I have a ton of new boxes (or 'container' for those who point with their elbows) and wrapping paper from our PCS from Belgium. They are brand new, used once during our move. If anyone is interested let me know, we are off of 1604 and Braun, near Bandera Road. So the guidance on the AFPC website makes it sound like they want a T-ODP for all officers. I've only been at my duty station for about three or four months so I've got a couple years until a PCS even becomes a question. Anybody know if I should fill out the T-ODP (which would basically express my desire to stay right where I am) or just wait until I start coming up on 24 months on station?

Does anyone have any advice for a PCS to Europe as far as taking or not taking cars? I heard a rumor that some countries you can take full size vehicles, like trucks and such, and get a premium for them in sale/trade over there. Also does anyone know about how much it cost to take more than the one "allowed" vehicle? I would like to have two vehicles to make it a bit easier for my wife and I to get around when and where we need to. Thanks!

I need advice from some AD guys on where to get these items for the FTX I'm heading up next year. Keep in mind its an ROTC event (yipee) and we are limited in just about every resource you can think of. 1. Hey y'all. I have a situation. I am in pilot training for a Guard heavy unit...and track select pretty soon. I have the opportunity to switch over to fighters, one unit is in the same state, another is in another state. I believe I would get hired by those two units to fly fighters, however, I have to have my unit agree to release me. How likely is this, and really, am I just going to end my career, and get released if I even try? I dont wanna piss anyone off too badly. Thanks alot for any insights. [ 02. I'm trying to find an AFI or DoDI that covers postal benefits, but am not having any luck. I'm an exchange officer stationed in Europe 3 hours from the nearest APO and 7 hours from the nearest US base. Back in the day the USAF had a contract with DHL to deliver mail from the closest US base to my location once per week. Due to budget issues that went away but was replaced with a monthly TDY mail run. That soon changed to a quarterly TDY. That then changed to a quarterly mileage only TDY. That turned into nothing and I have no support at all. I now pay about $120 out of pocket and miss a day of work each time I want to check the mail. I wouldn't care about missin…

When deployed to a combat zone, does anyone simply . . . not have taxes taken out on your LES? I'm a traditional guard bubba deployed for the Nth time. Taxes are always taken out on our LES. They are repaid in the next month's LES. However, that next month's LES has taxes taken out, then reimbursed on the third month's, and so on. I don't know if that's how the system is designed to work, or that's how Guard finance works. Makes it a PITA to double check amounts are correct come W-2 time. May also be a case where every guard franchise unit does it differently.

Anyone here have any knowledge of how easy it is/was to go from say an Intel officer position to a rated pilot etc position? I’m looking to see what the chances are of jumping ship from non rated to rated positions.

Just curious if anyone has heard from the 345th Bomb Squadron thus far for their 2024/2025 hiring cycle. I would like really like to visit during their rush weekend in November and/or December.
