  3. Well said. It's also why the democrats haven't found purchase with their various "outrages" as they search for leverage to sink the Trump behemoth: they've miscalculated how deeply pissed people are about the system they created. Dems aren't going to find a Trump tweet that turns his base against him, because we don't care about him. He's a change agent. And frankly I want more radical than I'm getting.
  4. One of the most surreal elements of these cases is that there are always a slew of quotes from the recently-canceled supporting the cancellation of others. I know they are hypocrites, because the movement has no ideological basis, so there's no way to support it without being a hypocrite. But seriously, can't these people pay someone to tell them when they have said things that are going to make them look stupid?
  5. Mos Def....Miami (Mario), is committed to the run, especially up the middle behind those warhorses. Beck looked off for a while, that middle high safety screwed with his head. Last night was a war, UF had some real talent of defense and they kept them in it until the 4th when Miami's O-Line finally imposed there will. The whistle to stop Miami's TD was a HORRIBLE call and would have ended the game sooner. How much longer can Billy survive? UF looked disjointed and without motivation until the 3rd, I really thought they played well and had a chance until that 80 drive that broke them. Oct 4th is going to be something, trying to decided if I am going to fly over for the game.

  8. Reminds me of the 80s movie Gung Ho, make 15,000 cars a month or else
quality be damned Banking, enrichment training, etc
. If 1500 aeronautical ratings per FY is the one metric to go by then wing’em but give them post graduate training/enrichment training post T-6 and winging. Choir preaching but if there is waiting prior to FTU then give the Bobs a “win” while fixing the glitch I’m just a rando on BO but the training / program I’d advocate for would be affordable in the grand scheme, earlier I estimated about $230k in training costs, probably it would a bit less. Call it Mobility Pilot Training, whatever but justify by accomplishing tasks that these guys would be doing in their MQT after FTU, giving training & familiarity with NVGs, STOL, etc
If the FTUs can’t intake, build an infrastructure that can productively occupy your recent graduates while reducing subsequent training costs and risk, better prepared students perform better in WAY more expensive to fly aircraft and sims. Buy the training you need not new airplanes if the Bobs push back on acquiring new iron. Establish 3 programs, feather in grads from each of the main UPT bases as availability allows. - STOL program using a ME aircraft like a Twin Otter or Cessna Courier. Application to ACE is self evident and time/experience building. - Tail dragger course. Builds stick and rudder skills. - Sim based course for Transport category, probably should be the last course but introduction to fully automated flight deck, management of systems, experience building.
  9. I'm assuming based on you're comment you have at least a slight peak behind the curtain. Do the bobs there have the intestinal fortitude to admit amongst themselves that quality is rapidly dropping, or are they so delusional they actual believe what they're briefing to ops units?
  10. Everyone always focuses on strats for the board. I was a 3/3 squadron and 5/6 wing strat when I applied yet here I am flying the C-17. Not a brag but a reality that strats aren't everything. I was even told after I was selected by some friends that my package wasn't as good as some others they had seen from people who weren't selected - I guess they were wrong since I was selected and they were not with a "worse" package.
  11. wouldn't matter, it won't fit the determined timeline. I've been involved with this from the UPT side and now the MDS side from the MAJCOM HQ perspective. The only thing that matters is hitting the magical 1500/year mark, quality be damned. Doesn't matter if we can't even absorb 1500/yr, we are determined to produce them, even if it means banking a portion of them. A 35-week program like the Brits have for ME training is a complete non-starter.
  12. Miami's O-Line looks to be the best in the country. In good news, FSU rushed for 498 yards today and we have as many punts in the year as games played - 3. I think Oct 4th is going to feel like the 90s!

  14. We'd be better off negotiating for a base in Pak, Uzbek, Kyrg, or even Tajik. Fuck AFG.
  15. The Soviets initially built the place; maybe he meant give it back to them. I’d be all for letting the Jawas mort some more Russkies.
  16. UGGG. Gross. đŸ€ąđŸ€ź
  17. I wonder what his version of 'give it back' means?
  18. Typically it’s whatever is loaded into PRDA I believe which would be after you sign it and it’s input by CSS. They let me email direct since I rushed it through my group and had all the signatures. It was my Flt/CC one so really wanted it included. It does suck that all Capt OPBs close 31 Aug and with board date shifted earlier I feel like you have to really push on your leadership to get it done in time for the board.
  19. Guessing that was for a Capt OPB? I'm still waiting to sign mine as a Capt (S) which had all my deployment stuff. Curious if they can pull it without my signature or if they'll only have access to my Lt ones.
  20. He makes a lot of good points. Who knows, maybe the bobs are using an expedited air war of attrition as the reason for mass producing subpar pilots. Or maybe those pilots will be so far from harms way that there's no need for them to be proficient at what we see as core capabilities, hence our tactical bias. Idk if these poignant quotes from a hundred years ago regarding culture make me feel better about whats going on in America or not. “the nation that has trained itself to a career of unwarlike and isolated ease is bound, in the end, to go down before other nations which have not lost the manly and adventurous qualities.” - Teddy Roosevelt "blamed education and upbringing for turning Frenchmen into “timid and poltroons,” - French General Oscar de NĂ©grier “described the British nation as being in a ‘wild debauch of so-called freedom’” in need of “a new discipline.” - some British Captain
  21. Just wait until the rest of the bond market realizes that the Fed is not going back to their 2% target inflation rate anytime in next few decades. These rates will seem pretty good.
  22. AFPC has always been great with this board! They helped me get my most recent OPB with a solid strat submitted and added to my file this week. Very on top of everything. I wouldn’t worry too much about strats within your org. Obviously it gives you points but they pull a lot of additional info for your file, so if you’re a strong performer it’ll show, even if your Group/Wing had their own rating criteria. Big week next week! Good luck all!
