Buddy, the idea that peace is attained and maintained through abstention from kinetic acts is the most childish view of the world one could possibly have. Peace has never, and will never come from peaceful actions. It always and forever will be the product of extreme violence. And even then, it relies on the good guys (a rare phenomenon in human history) to want peace as the product of their ruthless and thorough dissemination of death. If Trump follows these bombings with the Marines storming the beaches of Iran, I will agree with your shallow suggestion. Until then, just give it a rest with this utopian bullshit, please. Look the guy is obviously a Islamist hack, but it doesn't sound like he wants dead Americans. He literally said "symbolic strike," as in we all know the political and diplomatic realities necessitate some sort of response, so I hope it's symbolic as opposed to meaningful, which would force the US to escalate. Ironically my buddy was (is) in the exact same boat. His go to pistol is a Canik .45, he also has a Springfield .45 and a 1911 so he shoots way more .45 than 9mm. His logic was the same; 9mm is just cheaper. My hiking/wildlife gun is a S&W 10mm so I’ve been toying with buying the 10mm PCC cause I probably shoot just as much 10 as 9, and I like the extra power the 10mm has at extended range. Maybe I’ll end up buying both. Decisions decisions….

Exactly. I expect a big part of the strategy has been "allowing" the political class in Iran to survive specifically so they can choose their own lives over retaliation. But they can't not make threats. That's not how international politics work. They are going to saber rattle, the real question is will they follow through. We'll know soon.

Curious how Iranian response will be impacted by the Israeli HVI campaign against them. It can't be easy adjust strategy, C2 forces & simultaneously worry about assassination.

One of the most ignorant things I’ve read on this forum. Do you think your buddies didn’t already have targets on their backs? They are surrounded by people who hate them and want them dead; people daily searching for opportunities to hurt them. An intelligent use of limited violence makes enemies less confident, less capable, and therefore less likely to attack your buddies. If we start nation building in Iran, I’ll be speaking up against POTUS. However as of this moment, I think what he ordered will make the region safer. Also, well played on the OPSEC!

My brother in law is now a deputy chief of police but ran weapons and his departments SWAT team for many years. I was able to train with them a few times and when he first started their officers were carrying the Marlin 9MM carbine modified to accept Glock Magazines. The rationale was officers only had to carry one type of mag for both pistol and rifle. I shot it many times in training and it was able to cycle with no jams. It shot well and was easy to use during transition but my BIL converted the unit to M-4 Carbines because he was worried about stopping power of the 9MM at distance. Still not convinced after watching several videos...dependability is a big issue for me.
