I heard a passenger interview from an intercept once (not this one) & she was talking about how safe she felt once the fighter showed up. I don't think she understood what that presence indicates, but it's not passenger safety.5 points

Do you get this worked up about every mass layoff? What about all the people forced out of a job because they wouldn’t take an experimental vaccine (fed and private sector)? The problem is you and the rest of the Dems have decided to put fed workers on a pedestal (except the ones who didn’t take the vax, fuck them right?) because it’s a convenient means to try to throw political poop at your opponent. Also, I think we’ll be seeing plenty of efficiency, reform, and process improvement over time.4 points

False comparison. People voted for this bro, just say you hate democracy (joking🙂). Edited to add: I also wouldn't accept a brain dead Alzheimer's patient in command, but don't forget you were pleased with your vote there.4 points

I think the emails aren’t the point. It’s trying to find a signal thru the noise. You actually think anyone is going to read millions of email replies? say what you want about Elon, but he’s not dumb. This playbook was implemented on a much smaller scale at twitter and worked. Let’s see how it plays out.3 points

Might be time to take another break from BO.net. This is obviously a very emotional issue for you based on your wife's job and you aren't going to get anything but frustration hearing the rest of us bloviate about it. Best of luck to you and your wife.2 points

My last about the pipeline comes from a buddy who met the General while he was on a tour in Mesa. Very little of what we know about IPT / FUPT / UPT 3.0 actually comes from official sources. Hoping for the traditional T6 syllabus as well. Red leader standing by to fly cool jets before IPT direct FTU starts up1 point

The media claimed twitter was on the verge of failure “any day”. That didn’t happen. Twitter is very successful. Let Elon cook.1 point

If the MAJCOM/CC did a BNR to said Deputy ordering this task: yes or course, wouldn’t you? and let’s not pretend all fed workers are equivalent to a line captain training for war, lol. The reason this effort is happening (acknowledging execution is a mess) is the massive amount of worthless workers discovered who were getting paid for not working or otherwise gaming the system and adding no value. Not to mention the subtle threat of inside resistance to our duly elected new administration.1 point

If the OG had delegated that authority to the MSG deputy, then yes. Can we all stop pretending like Elon just started doing this with a Gmail account? The president of the United States, who everyone in the government reports to, decided to do this. Like every other corporate "force reduction," he has delegated that work to someone else. Doesn't the wing Commander have to sign all officer OPRs anyway? Do this many people really believe that the government owes someone a job?1 point

I must have missed your outrage when Biden killed thousands of coal miner jobs...his flippant retort for all those people was "learn to code". Not defending what is happening as I think it is unneeded chaos....but the other side has done things that are equally insensitive and I never heard a peep out of you.1 point

This is the equivalent of the MSG Deputy tasking a Capt flying the line in the OG to justify their job. Would you be cool with that?1 point

Yeah, but you probably did Weekly Activity Reports (WAR) for leaders in your CoC. Not for some random dude on a social media site based on a tweet.1 point

Welcome to the slow burn of the Guard process, and congrats btw. NGB won't approve a rated appointment packet until they have your FC1. As far as FC1 dates, I'm not sure. WP seems to be constantly backed up so expect a few months of waiting.1 point

Timeline (Enlisted Guardsmen hired by homebase) New to the process December 2024: Interview/Notice of Selection February 2025:Approval to Appoint Packet/Medical Clearance Packet submitted to recruiter. -I’ve been told by my recruiter (it’s also his first time processing an enlisted hire so he doesn’t have a ton of info for me) the next step is an FC1 for me. How long does this usually take to get a date for? Also with my packets submitted by my recruiter can I be given temporary OTS dates pending my FC1 approval or will I not be given any dates until FC1 is approved and packets get approved by NGB?1 point

We were majors together in the Five-Sided building years ago. She was a C-130 Nav then went to UPT which explains a grand total of 1800 hours as a three star, all though I do believe she deployed a lot. She made her career outside the cockpit as an Aide, Exec and LL rep. She was being pushed/postured to be first female CSAF. She was Hegseth's senior mil advisor and the story says SD29 did it not POTUS and there is no cause listed.1 point

Turning with an engine out for non-terrain considerations. Aircraft with less than 500' vertical separation on final. Modified landing data for the shorter runway. That shit doesn't fly at other airfields. That's the deviance. Only a few select "special" places is it allowed. That's the normalization. The helo flying high is just "deviance."1 point

Everyone's acceptance of ops at DCA. The FAA approved stupid procedures, and everyone else accepted and flew them for decades.1 point

I disagree with the first (truncated) sentence; "no limits of evil" is an overstatement. He hasn't used artillery with chlorine, hasn't released weaponized plague...is he ordering mass rapes of sex slaves & posting it on the internet like ISIS? Hyperbole from the pro-UKR crowd turns off more listeners than gains converts. Putin is a murderous dictator for sure, and invading a sovereign country was wrong. Let's get over that and analyze COAs pragmatically because many mistakes thus far have been interwoven with grandiose moralism detracting from objectivity. I see zero evidence he wants a direct kinetic conflict with NATO. If anything, he has been reserved given what our side is doing. If RUS provided the Taliban major weapons systems, training right across the AFG border and live targeting the way we do... we'd have hit them directly. We would never accept from them what they are currently accepting from us. It's not from the goodness of his heart, it's because he's not strong enough to hit back or he knows he would lose a wider conflict or any number of reasons. But it shows a high degree of rational thought. I'm unwilling to pay anymore for Ukraine's defense and I'm unwilling to pay for Ukraine's reconstruction. I voted for somebody who is doing those things; it sucks for Ukraine, but life is unfair and my priority is my own country. Perhaps if UKR held elections or wasn't killing RUS civilians or hadn't blown the pipeline causing an environmental disaster I would entertain a conversation about "shared values" and "defending western norms" etc. but they're doing those things (admittedly in self-defense for a war they didn't start) so 🤷♂️1 point

Not vain at all and a valid concern. Dude shows up for his first airline interview and tries using the military hr conversion factor and the airline is like “wait, you went to Embry Riddle just like that civilian guy over there. We only give mil credit to Navy and Army trained guys now.”1 point
