  1. I don’t think CRJ has ADS-B IN, so its a moot point. ADS-B is a great tool, but it’s likely nothing beyond a minor CF in this accident. Honestly this one is not hard to figure out that the major fix is don’t do stupid procedures. None of the discussion about NVGs, chick pilots, ADS-B, etc. even matters if you simply stop putting aircraft at the same lat/long with only 100’ of vert separation and your “backup” decon is pilots promising they’re visual on the correct traffic/some controller being directive end game to avert disaster.

  2. "I didn't vote for Elon Musk!"-a bunch of knuckle heads . I find it amusing that the left is so scared of losing USAID. What will DOGE discover? I, for one, am tired of wasteful government spending. We should not be spending millions on condoms. Those are useless and make sex bad.

  3. Why would you get emotional about a possibility, a small one at that, of anything? Are you in constant state of distress over things that have not happened? That's no way to live life. I don't agree with the recent social trend where grown men feel it's acceptable to elevate emotion above reason and expect everyone to marvel at their virtue. It's been over a year since Palestinians crossed the fence and killed Israelis. It's been over a year since Israel has effectively leveled Gaza. We've been providing them the means to do it. There were US citizens being held hostage. You haven't commented on any of it. But Trump makes a statement on the issue, and you hyperventilate. All he said was Gaza was uninhabitable, it needed rebuilt, and Palestinians would live there. Relax. Try to analyze the facts: Gaza is leveled. The Palestinian cause has been overwhelmed. Hamas has never been nearer defeat. It's uninhabitable land. It's prime real estate. Someone is going to rebuild it. Who would you rather see take ownership? Israel (with our money)? Iran? Other countries sympathetic to the plight of the Palestinians? China? I don't think you have the capacity to understand the complexity of the situation because you only seem to have an opinion if it involves Trump. Ok? So you believe trans should not be in women's sports? This issue has gone on for years. One man steps up and squashes the issue and within hours the NCAA says you must be assigned female at birth to compete in women's sports. You posted this after Trump signed the EO, but refused to give him any credit. The funny thing about TDS is... it's identifiable to everyone except the people that have it. As a father with daughters who played soccer in HS and college, I very much appreciate this photo: As has been pointed out, your record for accurate predictions is near zero, yet you keep making them. Again, your perception of the world is contaminated by this derangement. Something is important to you if Trump addresses it. For me, he's just a guy addressing the issues I already find important.

  4. These articles about the Blackhawk not transmitting ADS-B (as if it didn’t have a transponder at all) are just click-bait for people who don’t understand that Mode C still exists as it did for years, and provides all the relevant squawk information for this scenario. Also there’s a 99.6% chance that anyone writing these articles (or having the conversation at the congressional level) could not tell you the difference between Mode S, ES, 1090, and 978 UAT. What GA sees on an ADSB In display would have been a glove save, potentially, but should be a separate discussion from the doom scrolling “Blackhawk wasn’t transmitting omg fr fr” bullshit.

  6. You'll get a sq full of flawless gig lines! Nothing makes an airman fly better than perfect uniforms backed up by endless quarterly meat gazzing parties. As a former Evaluator, I used to line up the crew (crews for formation) outside of the briefing room to take a good look at their crotches. Some of the best aviators I knew had perfect gig lines. Perfectly lined up shirts, belts and pants equaled an instant EQ! No need to fly. I knew they were good. Edit: The one piece flight suit made gig lines pretty easy to evaluate. I hooked a guy once because he had a mangina zipper. The two piece flight suit was more fun, you could really get into the nooks and crannies. I only allowed them to put on their body armor once the lines were properly gigged. The gig line check should be incorporated into the before landing checklist AF wide. The last step. Gig Line.................."Checked" Before landing checklist...... "Completed" Even you fighter guys need to be checking your gigs before landing. Flight leads are responsible for the lines for the formation. Also, we will add the gig check as a step into your ingress and egress checklists. This should stop the accidents and increase lethality.

  7. Just stunning what the DNC was doing with USAID...criminal...used it as a way to get YOUR money to George Soros among other things. This snippet from Joe Rogan lists some of the simply unbelievable things the last administration was doing with YOUR tax dollars. If you listen to the end there is an interesting new quantum tracker that can now follow every dollar.

  8. Does it matter? They are a dependant state of the US. They want to act like otherwise, then a few weeks of 25% tariffs will remind them. Germany tried hitching their wagon to Russia, how'd that work out? The populations of the world need a come-to-Jesus moment. This appears to be it. Also, what help do we need from Canada?

  13. I'll say the thing no one wants to admit. There is no future for Gaza with 1.7 million Palestinians in it. Or likely even a couple hundred thousand. They need to be moved. They need to be somewhere where they are not surrounded by people they believe God himself wants them to slaughter. They should be entirely or mostly surrounded by people who they do not believe God himself wants them to slaughter. It will be another generation before Israel is stupid enough to allow the Palestinians in Gaza to work within their borders. It doesn't matter whose fault it is, that reality makes it untenable for the Palestinians to remain in Gaza. The Palestinians in Gaza should be provided land somewhere else, either in the West Bank with the rest of the Palestinians or somewhere else in the Arab world. They should be moved there respectfully but forcefully if necessary, and all humanitarian aid money that will be spent (and it will be in the tens of billions) should go towards building up this new area, big enough to actually support 1.7 million people, and not surrounded by people they hate. It is possible that Trump realizes this obvious truth, and has figured out that no one is going to stop him. I hope so.

  14. I have zero issues whatsoever with the army response. There wouldn't have been the need for the Army to withhold the name to give the family time for damage control if Trump hadn't painted them into a corner with his completely out of line comments. Everyone else is still trying to get the facts straight and pull bodies out of the Potomac, and we have the leader of the free world talking out of his ass in the least possible productive way during a crisis. DEI is toxic, but even more toxic than that is blaming a crash on DEI less than 24 hours from the accident when you have zero facts to support it.

  17. This is not correct. TCAS II aircraft like the CRJ get full TA/RA indications as long as another aircraft has Mode A/C. It doesn’t matter what the other aircraft has, just as long at they have Mode A/C. ADSB has no bearing on TCAS. ADSB only helps other GA aircraft and provides a more accurate picture for ATC. Media will latch onto this topic, but for this accident… it’s a red herring.

  18. Nah...these guys are poltical animals....he has shaped a narrative to SECAF and SECDEF..."Sir we are returning to warfighter standards in order to increase lethality." Trust me, I've seen these clowns in action. It will take an organic revolt to get words to Pete to see what is really going on.

  19. Nice bullshit, you come up with that all by yourself? I guess I don't post enough about every issue in the world to establish some stupid online baseline of opinions. Fair. You got me. But your TDS, the version that Trump is the second coming and are thus a deranged acolyte, is just sad. You're the type that when Trump spews dumb shit out of his mouth will just tag it as some brilliant negotiation, versus what it really is, retarded. PS. Any prediction I make is satire, A because it points out the silliness of the idea, and B because it would probably be bad if it really came true. But you know that, I think. Lastly, I think you need a puppy. Here.

  20. That was me being unclear. My bad. What I'm saying is that any plan to return the Palestinians in any meaningful number to Gaza invalidates any plan to rebuild it.

  21. Airliners are not to my knowledge flying with ipads that have ADSB In, at least not at one large legacy airline, so I fail to see how having ES on the Blackhawk would have helped in this instance. Edit: they’re also likely to be viewing the plate for the charted visual they were cleared and not an ipad moving map anyway (since TCAS is on their sit display), and then nuggets outside for the visual circle. But I digress.

  22. I do not concur with your assessment. While the Mode C provides info to ATC, it would not have provided position information to the airliner. Most don;t have the fancy integrated displays I do but most airlines do fly with IPads and ADS-B would have provided some SA of an altitude AND position conflict. NO transponder = radar on metal no altitude Mode A = transponder increases range of radar and sends an identifier Mode C = Altitude encoded in reply. Mode S = ICAO identifier encoded in reply Mode ES / ADS-B = location information encoded so radar no longer required to locate target.

  23. I'm fully aware. Try to set aside your emotions. Take a sip of your soy latte, clear your mind, and observe these images. https://x.com/AJEnglish/status/1881299383137779882 Now let's apply reason. Is it not obvious to you this place is devastated? Hell on Earth. There is no infrastructure. Teetering remains of buildings and ordanance littering the ground. Without regard to your emotions, try to summon an empirical assessment of the situation. Is it reasonable to believe Palestinians can live acceptable lives at this location given the current conditions? No. Is it reasonable to believe this area should be rebuilt? Yes. Can the Palestinians do it? No. Is it reasonable to believe it is physically possible to reside in this area while it is being reconstructed? No. Logic would dictate the residents of this area must physically occupy a different geographic location. Will they be given the opportunity to return. Yes. This is basic stuff. I'm not making a subjective argument here. Do you even have a logical alternative? Direct quote: Reporter: Just a follow up on what you were saying about the Gazans leaving Gaza going to other countries: 1. One, where exactly are you suggesting that they should go, and two, are you saying they should return after it's rebuilt. And if not who do you envision living there? Trump: I envision a world people living there the world's people I think you'll make that into an international unbelievable place I think the potential in the Gaza Strip is unbelievable and I think the entire world representatives from all over the world will be there and they'll and they'll live there. Palestinians also. Palestinians will live there. Would you like to correct your false statement? If you're gonna be wrong, be wrong with confidence. Nice work. If you're gonna try to see who can be more condescending, I've been here longer than you. 😀

  24. I don’t fly anything with fancy glass in the GA world. But a Stratus providing ADSB in to ForeFlight on an iPad is tremendous SA. Not only do I get the targets like above, but it has their exact altitude readout and callsign and/or tail number. The last part is the real life saver, as I can hear what ATC is calling them and it’s so much easier to make sure you’re looking at the right target. Does Garmin not have the ability to show the extra data like callsign?

  27. It's the classic Jurassic Park illusion of control. You use a shitty website to search job listings that you have the quals/year grp/knee pads for, and rank your top choices. If the CC who posted the listings also swipes right on you then you get a match. AFPC takes this match and does the following:

  28. Regardless if the Biden admin had these deals made or not, the fact is our neighbors didn’t give a shit about the problems or executing anything to help solve them. That is until they got a Trump boot up the ass. I don’t care if there was zero “heavy lifting” and all Trump did is threaten something in a tweet. I care about the results, and so far, the results have been exceptional and the majority of the country is happily receiving all kinds of things they voted for.

  29. There is an infinitesimal chance that we know what was actually agreed to, or will any time soon. People are ignoring everything Donald Trump has said over the years about how he negotiates. This is one of the reasons why he does so well in the Middle East, because he understands the concept of "saving face." Anyone who's done Air Force pme should be familiar with the difference between high context and low context interactions. America is a traditionally low context society existing in a world of high context allies and enemies. I tried using this negotiating tactic in our Union during the final weeks of signing the 2023 collective bargaining agreement. Our board of directors was, to put it lightly, flailing. I convinced them to put forward a list of demands that would immediately end negotiations and be pushed to the membership. I think it had eight or 10 things on it. The idea, when I pitched it to them, was that they should anticipate getting three to five things on the list and calling it a day. They could brag to the pilots that they secured more that gains, and the company could go back to their board of directors and show how even though the union had a list of 10 demands, the company resisted over half of them. Of course, pilots being the absolute dog shit negotiators that they are, half the board decided that they could only declare victory if they got everything on the list, and the other half panicked and decided that if they didn't abandon the list entirely they were going to somehow get no contract at all. So the plan only ended up barely working thanks to United Airlines. But the concept is the same. Give everyone at the table something to go back and brag to their people about.

  34. On assignments/dreamsheets/pipe-dreams: Defense Resources Management Institute in Monterrey, CA and myself each marked each other number one/matched, after I was interviewed by their hiring/screening panel which went very well (having a Master's in Finance and university teaching certificate helped). Then when the wait was over, AFPC gave me orders to FTU not DRMI. At the time was coming non-current/unqualified from 30 months non-flying AU Fellowship. They said needed IP ASAP to pacing unit, to make the 'sausage'. So end up at FTU to secondary method requal which wasn't yet approved, then when approved took six month to get RQ ride one scheduled and complete first attempt. Said F-it send me to check in ride two, passed. That's was 25% of the assignment time before departing. #AFPC+FTUwinning
