  1. A little grammatical correction yields the truth: “Mission first, people! Always!”

  2. My mother works as a nurse in nursing home/hospice care. Every resident she has regardless of age or level of infirm status has an ID. They have to in order to pay or have access Medicare benefits. Jesus the level of contortions people will go to the explain why it’s ok to not have any form of identification yet exercise an action as big a deal as voting is ridiculous.

  3. That's the problem. We can't spare them. Strat-air focused leadership in the MAF seems to often under-appreciate the product they are getting in C-130 and C-17 WOs. Of course, none of us know what KC-135 patches do though, so you've got me there.

  4. "WIC is a leadership schoolhouse disguised as a tactics course." While I agree with that statement, Big Blue, according to how they promote and develop people, appears to believe that leaders come from Exec offices, not cockpits. Therefore, your best tactical leadership should go to exec offices in order to get promoted. Epic. Failure.

  5. For the love of god, can the CSAF just come out and straight up ban the use of a pilot as an executive officer and call it fraud, waste and abuse? Go back to having MPF officers sit exec. Heck they would do a better job.

  6. which is totally F'd up. if you're inside three years ADSC do not go white jets. AFPC is stupid. 1b should be it. enjoy your pilot shortage assholes

  7. And then the fighter pipeline will be backed up, creating a BIT program so once 30% more officers hit the new PRFs required majors board there will only be a 60% selection rate. At about this time, leaps in unmanned airplane tech will require less pilots (projected) so mass RIFs and VSP rounds will take place. The AF will overcut though, and ask the same group to come back in a few years. Sum up the next 20 years?

  8. Don't forget that we forced a bunch of officers and enlisted out less than 5 years ago, and the younger dudes who watched that happen don't have a lot of faith the AF won't do it again.

  10. WIC grads in exec positions is definitely NOT the standard in the CAF. Seems like a phenomenon only in the MAF. Could it possibly be true that the old FWIC concept was unnecessarily watered-down by the “everyone gets a trophy” mentality when operators of every MDS got a seat at the table? I mean, if your wing/MDS can spare target arms for non-W prefix work, doesn’t that make them superfluous? (Yeah yeah, burn the witch...I know...)

  11. Texas mom shoots man trying to take car with her kids inside at gas station: "I hope that woke him up" http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/07/05/texas-mom-shoots-man-trying-to-take-car-with-her-kids-inside-at-gas-station-hope-that-woke-him-up.amp.html This is why I love Texas! A few years ago some guys broke into a home. A wife hid in the attic with her kids and her gun. She called her husband and he basically told her to unleash hell if they come into the attic. The attic door opened and all you heard was her emptying her clip and her husband cheering her on. Merica! In California you would be locked up for defending your family.

  12. Austin is great man but as someone said before, flight school options for PPL are limited here. I live here and am currently pursuing that route and its a slower process flying out of a large airport every lesson, and a tad expensive overall. However, definitely doable if you have the time and money. Let me know if you have any questions!

  17. The other patches are all up exec-ing at the group and wing. I've been TDY to three wings this year and all of them had a patch as the wing exec.

  18. True story, although when you can’t do a steep turn without stalling because decreasing UPT/FTU syllabus gives us dudes without the simple things like a crosscheck...maybe tactics are a bridge too far. Anecdote: our weapons shop are all brand new LTs aside from the patch(es). Keeps it interesting.

  23. This reminds me of last time we deployed. We took a 777 contracted rotator out to the desert. All of us were waiting for hours of course in the pax terminal. There was this sadistic Lt Col who was the deployment office chief. She shrieked at us every 15 minutes about her arbitrary Nazi rules of when we could use the bathroom and get water, over the course of 3-4 hours. I’m not exaggerating when I say this lady’s yelling voice would make that Frau chick on Austin Powers cringe. Finally, it was time to board. She said she’d board us by rank. Lt Cols first, then Majors. Us Captains figured we were next so we got ready. Then a twist. Airmen next. Then NCOs. Then SNCOs. Ok, whatever lady, just let us on the damn plane so we can go to our desert paradise already. Nope. Lts next. Now it’s just the Captains. When it’s just us and her, she gives us her SJW speech. She says we are the group that typically comes first in the AF, so she boarded the plane to take care of the ranks that are typically not taken care of. She said we should be happy to board last and take the worst seats. After being locked in a warehouse for 4 hours needlessly, none of us were really in a mood for a lecture, but whatever. We finally board the buses to the plane. When we walk on the plane, the flight attendants point us towards first class. The contract airline has a policy of filling the plane back to front. So us entitied Captains all rode first class the whole way to the desert. Best case of instant justice I’ve seen. Though I’ve always regretted not taking a picture of all us Captains in first class and sending it to her with a thank you card.

  24. I was there, it was not even remotely what the prosecutor made it out to be. The accuser was also well known to have lied in court previously and was a veteran of making shit up to get back at other dudes in the past. Maybe it happened, maybe it didn't, but the fact remains you had a questionable accuser and it was merely his word vs. hers. Frankly, it's bullshit to send someone to prison based on that weak of a case, and that's why Gen Franklin did what he did.
