It rips me apart to post this, Matmacwc flew west peacefully Christmas morning after a long fight with cancer.  He bravely fought it to the end.

He was truly a good man and a great fighter pilot.

If your inclined to pray please pass a few on to his family.

I've talked to Sara and she is in the process of setting something up for the kids.  I will pass along details when I have them.

@matmacwc was an amazing IP that helped teach me how to fly the Viper. A real class act and he'll be greatly missed by all.

We had pm'd a few times planned to get together when he was coming out to visit relatives near me.  I had no idea he was dealing with this.  

I will pray for him and for those that knew and loved him who have lost a treasured family member and friend.  

My condolences to those that served and flew with him.  

p.s.  I never asked him what "Matmacwc" meant.  Any idea, CH (or anyone)?

Sorry to hear, didn’t personally know him but always thought his contributions on BO were value added.

His words of wisdom via contributions on BO were greatly valued and will be missed.

Did not know him personally but we had quite a few good PM convo's.  I noticed a few posts here and there about being out on medical but he never brought it up.  Terrible!

A baseops original. I remember reading his post when I was still in HS, wanting to be a pilot, and I found this forum one day. Never knew him in real life, but sounds like he was a hell of a guy.
