I think the day the F-35 has an actual airplane to its credit, they’ll wish more than anything that it hadn’t. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah, persistent presence missions I agree will mostly be filled by unmanned systems but I’ll still argue for the need for some manned capabilities, particularly for dynamic/short term missions, what exactly that looks like is not my call but I see an overlapping of effects required in major future conflicts, a sensor-shooter-node in the link of systems, being optionally manned gives you the best of both worlds IMO.

I do. Fuck Pakistan; they’re right up there with Iran on the list of POS countries that deserve far worse than what they’ve actually received.

Commanders are dropping like flies this year

I dunno, maybe not post stupid policy stuff when you work at policy for JCS? https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/pentagon-removes-key-middle-east-officer-over-posts-blasting-israel-as-death-cult-and-america-s-worst-ally/ar-AA1GYF8b?ocid=msedgntp&pc=HCTS&cvid=33d1f0ceaf2c48ca8b023f6ba6a7f882&ei=191 We are entitled to our personal opinions. We are not entitled to post policy differences with our elected leaders while wearing the uniform. Resign. Or be fired/'voluntarily' retired. This guy, apparently, opted for the latter. Book deal and MSNBC TV hit likely inbound as well... -
I could see this as well as other variants like Sea Guardian etc taking over for most manned platforms for surveillance utilized by CBP DHS and USCG. Especially as AI improves. I was watching American Made the other day and I'm sure Barry Seals would have had a much tougher time against a 24/7 integrated network of these platforms. As brabus said it's the world we live in.

What are my chances for heavies with no PPL
blueingreen replied to geronimo7's topic in What Are My Chances?
Hey man, I'm in the process of applying to guard squadrons just like you, and I haven't been hired yet, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Apart from the flight hours, you seem to have a strong applicant profile. I can definitely relate to the struggle of paying for flight hours these days. It's not unheard of for people to get hired by a squadron with very limited flight experience, it just means you're going to have to compensate in other ways. I think your best bet would be to rush squadrons and show your face around as much as you can. Send emails, phone calls, make connections on forums like this, whatever you can. I know that going around the country and rushing squadrons can become expensive in and of itself, but I genuinely think having positive interactions with squadron members is more valuable than the equivalent cost in flight hours. I have rushed two squadrons so far and both went really well. Both squadrons are hosting hiring boards this summer, so I'll let you know if there are any positive developments after interview invites are sent out. Best of luck on your journey and let me know if you ever want to chat about anything. -
Is anybody else secretly hoping the Iranians manage to get just 1x jet in the Air and have it square off with a 35. And then the 35 gets 1x more Air to Air kill than the Raptor…. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Gabbard is off message, probably because of Middle East sympathies (imo). No idea why, just like no real idea why she visited Syria back then. She either has to shut up or resign or she'll get mean tweeted and fired.

just curious...do you feel the same about Pakistan?

Until the Hezbollah missile threat was gone this was never on the table. Lebanon being destroyed and Syria falling was a shaping operation to allow for this, otherwise things in Israel would be far uglier than right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They could sink some tankers and do quite a bit of damage. 25% of global crude passes through.

I agree with you, but focus on our military failures because I have informed ideas about causes & solutions. Don't have the same background knowledge to speak confidently regarding political level. Agree 100%. If I were Iran, this is obviously the time to play every card. Not sure if they have a nuke, but the claim about enriched uranium means dirty bomb is on the table. If they don't use it, they never had it. my final thought seeing Iran fold so quickly is that I am angry we didn't do it ourselves & sooner. They were murdering US soldiers with EFP's in 2007 and we were too afraid of expanding the war to give them what they deserved. Fuck Iran I hope their mullahs are dragged through the streets whether they have WMD or not. But we must not nation build in the aftermath.

USN needs to control the straight ASAP if they haven’t already. if the IAF is unopposed this early I see a scorched earth policy unfolding

As of right now, I'm going to be flying the ride flights out of Appleton Thurs through Sunday. Hopefully I'll be there early in the week just working the crowd for the static display on the plaza. Beers at SOS Bros on me this year. 🙂

Was thinking the same thing, I’m wondering if another system could be used clandestinely but conveyed to the PRC to dissuade cross strait adventurism Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not saying our GOs weren’t a contributing factor in the mess that was GWOT (Afghanistan and Levant) but I would say most of the failures belong at the political level.
-
I think the most impressive item in this entire conflict is how the 4th strongest IADS in the world completely folded. Today IAF tankers are orbiting over Iran...maybe Fat Amy isn't worthless.

Investment showdown -- beyond the Roth, SDP, & TSP
Lord Ratner replied to Swizzle's topic in Squadron Bar
Yup. I've trimmed back a bunch of my uranium and nuclear stuff as it's gone crazy. I'll buy back into it after it corrects. It'll be a long-term holding but you can't ignore a crazy spike like this. I don't think I'm going to cut purecycle at all, just because it's got such a long-term growth story ahead of it. Plus it seems silly to bail out now that druckenmiller is involved. Shorting some of the more meme-y stocks, but I don't pick any myself; I have a newsletter I follow. I'm thinking we have a 5 to 10% correction here between now and the end of July, then the rocket ship takes off again into the fall. Sometime in late 2025 or early 2026, shit hits the fan. Unemployment is going to be the last shoe to drop, but if you look at current unemployment and add in new gig workers, the numbers already look pretty bad. The housing market is already shaky, but it needs some forced-selling to light the fuse. Of course the only question, as it has been for the last 15 years, is what the FED will do.- 1,206 replies

He's an obvious agitator against the regime, and likely been working with the CIA for years. My point is he's making public videos on X calling for the people to rise up, now.
-
Yeah but he’s been doing that for years. Dude is just trying to position himself as the Karzai of this situation. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

This makes us question your tac airlift roots.

Reza Pahlavi (exiled crown prince) is calling for a revolution.

100% agree and that fact should shame our GOs; their success compared to our prevaricating came from willpower not technical inadequacies on our part. Just reminding everyone we've been tricked before WRT WMD.

Real or not, Israel has done more to accomplish defanging the regime and its proxies in the region over the last 12 months than we managed to accomplish in 20 years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
