Hello everyone, I plan to take AFOQT by the end of the year. I bought a book to study; however, there are some questions that I would like to ask. 1) Which websites/ sources should I use to do more practice questions? The book does not have enough. 2) Is it a good idea to focus on Pilot & Nav score to get the best one and just have the minimum on aptitude, verbal and quantitative? 3) How did you study for Aviation Information? I have PPL, but it has been for a year, so I don't remember 100% what I learned on that. 4) English is not my first language, so how do I study for English subjects like Arithmetic Reasoning, Verbal Analogies, etc? Question for those in the know: Will a Guardsman that is from a heavy unit be able to go to Sheppard for UPT? Can be done? Slim chance? No chance?

Hi All, I am taking the AFOQT in November. When speaking to the Recruiter about prep materials, he mentioned that past actual AFOQT tests are available online via the Peterson AFB website - https://www.peterson.af.mil/. Has anyone actually seen these or found them online? I have been looking, however to no success. The recruiter did not know their exact location on the website. Let me know if you guys know where to find them. Or if there is another location to where archived tests are available to view. Appreciate the help.

Is it possible to improve on your overall board score in the AF? I recently found out that I was .7 points too low on my board score to be considered for a pilot slot. However, I scored high enough to qualify for an ABM position.

I was referred to this forum by a current active duty AF pilot. I am currently in the end process of the AF Officer application process and currently have a scheduled start date for OTS. There are a couple of things that have come up in the last couple of weeks that have raised some red flags regarding the information I have been given by my recruiter versus what I have been told by several current AF pilots as well as a flight instructor. I am wanting to fly, however my overall GPA from college is just under the 3.00 requirement (2.75). Afternoon All! Looking to get some tips/advice for a UPT board interview over the phone. I am currently enlisted in the ANG and deployed overseas. I was selected for the opportunity to interview with an ANG unit and they are completely understanding of my situation and willing to do it over the phone. I've interviewed with several units in person and this will be my first phone interview. Any suggestions to help counteract the lack of face time? Hey everyone, I am an air guardsman right now, and I have a pretty complete grasp on how the applications work for Guard UPT slots. However, the Reserve side is a mystery to me. From what some other folks have said, it almost sounds like there is some sort of application you can fill out that gets sent to multiple bases, and they will reach out if they are interested. Is that a thing? Was that a thing? Whatever information you can give me so I can understand the differences between applying Reserve and applying Guard would be super helpful. Thanks!

Taking the AFOQT next week. Any practice tests online I can take? I have a test prep book but already finished the practice test in it. Preferably free but I'll pay if I have to, appreciate any help. Seems like all the practice tests I've found are 20 questions long...total

I'm 27 years old and I honestly have no idea who to get letters of recommendations from. When your young it's easy. You have baseball coaches, teachers, etc. At 27 everyone kind just becomes an acquaintance in life. There is one older guy I attend stick and puck with. He's a retired Maj. in the Army. Just saw the Mypers announcement this morning... Air Force is rolling out two UFT boards for active duty officers this year and launching a new prep program for bubbas who are qualified with less than 5 flight hours. Good news all around for people applying this year.

I took the AFOQT last year and did really well in my Pilot (93) but sucked in every other category (44-Nav, 36-Academic, 28-Verbal and 47- quantitive). I studied for the test using some test prep books and the online practice questions but still managed to underestimate it and score poorly. The hardest part of the test for me was the first 3 sections (Verbal Analogies, Arithmetic Reasoning, and Word Knowledge) I can guarantee that these were the sections that destroyed my scores because everything else seemed relatively easy. Greetings All, I am an active duty Marine Officer (non-rated) and would like to know if I am eligible to apply for the unsponsored UPT board. One recruiter (AFRC Officer Accession) said I could and the other said I could not since I will require two waivers, for age (just turned 30) and total commissioned time (7 years). I am aware of the sponsored UPT option which I am currently pursuing. I have already taken the AFOQT/TBAS, and got my PCSM. Please share your knowledge, thanks!

I am a prior enlisted aviator and was wondering if my RPA Sensor Operator hours can count towards my PCSM. I have read multiple posts about aeronautical rating doesn't matter. Is their a work around to this? I contacted the PCSM Office, but I feel they were quick to say no. What is everyone's thoughts?

I see that Vermont is hiring for F-35 pilots. Vermont is one of my top choices for a guard unit. I have 90 college credits because I changed my major after my sophomore year and had to repeat my sophomore year to study the survey courses of my new major. Also I transferred from Community College to a University and they had a few more gen eds that community college didn't require. Even though I won't likely get hired, I was wonder if it's worth applying so they will get to know me and then after my senior year I can apply again to get hired. I plan on taking the AFOQT in the next month or two. I know the deadline is March 31st.

I recently commissioned and am in the RPA pipeline. I am excited about the possibility within the RPA community, but my dream has always been to be a pilot. Does anyone here have any experience X-training to pilot from CSO, RPA, or ABM that I can PM a few questions. Thanks!

Hopefully you all find it just as useful as I've found the flash cards, etc. The main game window looks like this: Download Link: Here Included is everything you need to simply play it as well as edit it to your liking. I'm currently a junior and high school and I've had the eagerness to become a fighter pilot since I can remember. A little bit about me: weighted 4.5 GPA, soccer for all 3 years so far including have been captain of my team, involved in student body leadership, top 10% of my class, and plenty of community service. My question is what is the best way for me to become a fighter pilot? I know currently there is a shortage of fighter pilots in the air force, but a navy pilot has told me that if I took the navy route I'd have a higher chance at fighters because that's mainly what the navy flies. I am a pilot select waiting to go to OTS and am wanting to prepare for UPT as much as possible. I am currently working out preparing for OTS but was wondering at the beginning of UPT if I'm wanting to go fighter/bomber do I have to lift a certain amount of weight to qualify? Currently I'm not lifting heavy but will start if I need to qualify

Just wondering if there is a specific way that letters of intent/cover letters and letters of recommendation should be addressed when applying to guard units. For example, should it be addressed the the squadron vs the wing? Any info would be much appreciated!

Hey, I looked around and haven't really found any information directly related to unsponsored UPT students who haven't found a unit being assigned a unit. So I was selected with a Primary Unsponsored slot and was under the impression that if an Unsponsored candidate does not find a unit to sponsor them, then the Air Force will find a unit for them. Does anyone know or witnessed an unsponsored UPT student have their unit selected for them because they did not find a unit, how did it work? Were they given a list of units that were critically manned and they choose from the list or did the Air Force email them a set of orders with the Unit on it and that was that (How I fee…
