I did a search and I know that there has got to be some more info on this stuff but could not find it. So I thought I would jump start this again. For those in the know, what are some of the differences and likes of the Mc and HC 130? I know that there are more differences than what just meets the eye but I can't find them. It seems to me that they do alot of the same things. Plus, any Nav specific stuff would be appreciated such a deployment rates and specific duties. I see this topic come up as "thread creep" in other threads, and figured I'd start a thread. A nice photo of an RV was recently posted. I figure there is a good brain-trust around here with the RV-line of aircraft, and others. I met a Captain building an RV-14. Sounds like the ultimate RV to me. Really interested in learning more. Who has the skinny on the F-16 RTU students who never flew in Phase III at SUPT and just did sims? I hear there are 2 at Kelly, certainly we have a UPT or Kelly instructor on here to verify. There is more to the rumor but it’s hard to believe. It certainly would increase production quickly.

I have heard alot about the c-5's all going guard. Is this true? A few people in my squadron have said that they have moved all c-5's out of Dover and that they are all going guard. What about the Travis c-5s? I am about halfway through phase 2 at UPT and was hoping to be able to have the c-5 on my dreamsheet. Is it still a viable option?

Apparently according to my COC, flight suits are now authorized for Space & Missiles cadets. Makes a lot of sense that the first thing the new AFOATS/CC (or Holm Center/CC) does is authorize bags for S&M guys; she's a space officer, go figure. Any thoughts?

I'm just trying to get some opinions on what you guys think about the Club... Right now I'm a member at CAFB, and honestly, I never use it. I don't have the time, for one, and I just don't really partake in any of the "advantages" or "discounts" that they offer. I am just getting service dress and mess dress uniforms ready for active duty here shortly and this is the question i have: I have purchased the two medals and three ribbons we get when we commission and i cannot put them on a ribbon rack to save my life. the medals are the pain in the a$$! when i finally do they look like sh*t and are halfway destroyed. is there an easy way to do this? am i missing something? thanks in advance [ 03. Oh my GOD, I can't believe what I've done. I worked my way into a position where I have to write OPRs...I know I know....stupid, stupid, stupid. Oh well. Does anybody have some good quidelines/examples/gouge. My squad keeps all the good OPRs as examples and the scrounge off of but I'm sure someone has to have some good stuff out there!?! So I was wondering if any 130 guys out there who had gone to Ramstein could give me some advice. I just got my wings and after I finsh up at Little Rock I will be going to Germany. Ramstein gets snowed on, should I bring my Trans Am, or sell it for something more practical there? Any advice on what to do with my household goods before leaving Conus? And where should I try to live when I am over there near "K-town"? I don't like living on base but I have never been over seas either, whats the best way to go? F-16 pilot seems to have ejected safely, fingers crossed for survivors from the Cessna.

It seems that Air Force aviation is more competitive than Naval aviation. Is this true? Why do most people choose to go Air Force? Is it because the have a bigger selection of planes? Or do they just dislike the idea of being stuck in a ship in the middle of the ocean?
