I remember reading in some reg that aircrew aren't permitted to wear sunglasses with polarized lenses. Is this just something guys slough off, or is there an actual, viable reason not to wear them? The only thing I can think of involves distorting one's view of the HUD or something...who knows. Thanks!

Wondering if there is time on the weekends during UPT to fly my own plane? I would prefer it not sit in storage for a whole year so trying to figure out what to do with it. Also would flying General Aviation at the same time hinder training in any way?

For those of you who have flown the Tweet... About how many rides until you were proficient and comfortable flying the Tweet? (basic aircraft control, keeping in your area and all radio work, etc...? On average, when do pilots stop flying and end up behind a desk? Can you avoid this outcome by getting a C-37 or similar job?

One of my biggest gripes with UPT is that I have only two rides [EDIT:] in Phase Two [/EDIT] to teach the student "everything he/she needs to know" about flying VFR. We military pilots love to brag about how much better we are than most of the civilian flying world, but god help me when I tell another pilot that I didn't "back-up" the VFR flight plan on the GPS. If you made it back without incident, your check pilot should have gotten a swift kick in the jimmy.

Hey gang...new to the forum. Our base is looking for a manufacturer of lighted Follow Me signs that can be installed in the back of standard pick-up trucks. Ours were locally made years ago and are becoming their own FOD hazard. I thought we would find some manufacturers out there with a web search of ground support equipment, but no joy.
