Now I find myself faced with the dilemma of voting in favor of my own pocketbook or with actual principles. As much as I love money though I think I'm going to have to actually stick to my own principles here and not vote to pay myself. For those who aren't aware there is a proposed amendment to the state constitution in Ohio on the ballot this November, Issue 1. This amendment would authorize the state to issue up to $200MM of bonds to fund payments to any veterans of the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan or Iraq. Another one. I can't find any articles on the internets yet, but the local news just reported on another attempted shooting, this time in New Mexico. The news story said that the volunteer fire chief of Velarde, NM (40 miles N of Santa Fe) showed up to a meeting of firefighters today wearing body armor and carrying an assault rifle. They said he allegedly pulled out a pistol and pointed it at the group. They charged him and he ran away. Police are still trying to track him down, armed and dangerous. Folks, I am helping a friend to organize a NFL Survivor Pool as part of a fundraising effort for a local baseball team. I have discussed with a Moderator and this has been approved to post on here. A Survivor Pool is very simple - starting week 2, you pick any team to win. If that team wins, you move on. If that team loses, you are eliminated. There is some strategy involved because once you pick a team to win and it does, you cannot use that team again for the season. There is no point spread, it is all head to head.
