  2. Broad answer most heavies outside of AFSOC from the stuff I’ve been hearing but no way to tell if they are working on it or content with the fact that AETC is “technically” reaching the desired numbers of winged UPT grads. and @Boomer6 yeah I wish I considered it more because they funnel guard/reserve through as quickly as they have in the past. That’s another conversation that I’m sure has been discussed on this forum with whether or not they should fast track guard people when active duty is so backed up but I don’t need to open that can of worms here

  5. @NoFlyZone fresh pilot grads are waiting 8 months, seriously? Broad trend or specific MDS/MWS? Generalized answer more acceptable here.
  6. They are no doubt pushing people through faster (quality as has been discussed is a fair debate), but what’s even worse is UPT grads going to heavies are waiting 8+ months to go to the FTU. What kind of detriment will we see when less experienced pilots are waiting a year before they fly again? The result is bad right now and people aren’t even waiting as long as they will in the future. Is there really a shortage of qualified pilots because it really doesn’t seem like there is. It’s making it really hard to want to do the program knowing that boredom and inadequacy will be my future due to a lack of a real plan, and that the earlier years of my career won’t be properly utilized either.
  7. Nothing's wrong with them, they're just not currently executing the IPT syllabus.

  10. What’s wrong with Doss? Are they increasing the number of students.
  11. wasn't this jet owned by Thai Airways prior? The deep dive needn't stop at the most recent owner/maintainer. The faulty practice could've been years before they took possession.
  12. somehow I missed that you fly FiFi and Doc! Guess I've been sleeping under a rock... LMK next time you're in northern Utah! I think KOGD has hosted y'all a couple times in the last couple years and that's 10 minutes from my house...

  14. Well just have to wait for the AIB
  15. Was it not mishap pilot #1 like every other AF crash?
  16. Do you think it’s normal to publish the name of a pilot that ejected from an aircraft? It’s not. Why do you need to know the pilot’s name?
  17. I wonder why they chose 30/105 over PGMs.. But honestly I feel for the crews having the entire world armchair quarterbacks their engagements and having no idea wtf they're talking about.

  20. Short-Term, I expect volatility from here on out. The major moves have already been made. There may be some more life in the miners in the short term, but those all ballooned up pretty dramatically as well, and the miners won't be safe from an equity recession. Long-term, eventually a bubble is going to pop, at which point I expect the government to step in with eye-watering amounts of stimulus. That'll start phase two of the gold bull run. And if the crypto fairy tale collapses at some point, that'll be even more money shifting back into gold.
  21. Over on main stream media (WSJ) is a 4+ min long vid showing off the planes and people (with nametags) highlighting capes and recent destruction. If my mug was in any of those vids, I'd be livid. Why show who and how?
  22. Saw another news report that we have planes in El Salvador, wonder if they're flying out of Ilopango. We took an AC-H in there back in the day. Looked like an airplane junkyard where they parked us, tight fit too.
  23. In that first video, the boat was not under way. Was any info given as to why?
  24. It's crazy that we have about 10 billion dollars worth of aircraft sitting stacked together in the open in these areas now days. A couple half brains with 50k worth of drones and equipment could wipe out a squadron of F-35s.
  25. Not when you HOB a prox round.
  26. Great way to clear out the GIUK Gap of submarines in the event of war.
  27. Doss may become an IPT location, depending on how the bids shake out and if they want to do it. IFS as currently designed will go away once the AF shifts completely to the new model.
  28. Damn, water really kills the wow factor of an explosive. Well. Most of them. Next phase?
  29. Contract seaplanes The War ZonePentagon To Contract Fleet Of Seaplanes For The PacificThe lack of an American amphibious aircraft capability has become more glaring as the possibility of a conflict with China looms larger.
