  3. I say this as the son of legal immigrants before anyone calls me a bigot: if you’ve visited Texas lately and seen the wave of immigrants, specifically from South Asian origin, and the influx of Muslims to that state, Talafreako winning makes more sense. What makes less sense to me is I’m pretty sure the Islamic religion frowns upon looking for group sex online and the belief that kids can change gender but stranger things have happened. Californians have this nasty habit of moving from their shithole state and voting the same policies that turned California into said shithole state. Hope you all enjoyed hearing the call to prayer downrange five times a day because that’s coming to a city near you.
  4. Govern from the center, govern well, don’t go on a revenge tour. 47 couldn’t handle that, hence the blue wave. The GOP will come back in ‘28 if the Dems take this as a mandate to do a bunch of weird stuff. This was a referendum on Trump, NOT a blue mandate. Closed primaries ensure we get the wildest candidates from both sides.
  5. This. There are so many midterms that seem absolutely seismic, like the 2014 repudiation of Obama, but the triumphant rush fades quickly and the back-and-forth continues. I am pretty stunned candidates like Talarico and El Sayed won so handily, but I guess that's life. The cost of living is terrible, the job market is terrible, and nobody seems to have any answers.
  6. Don't worry, the Dems will royally fuck up the next two years, leading to another flip.
  7. They don't want to stonewall him, they want retribution...They do nothing but impeach and investigate for the next two years as they have no plan (other than socialism). If the people want the DNC is charge, so be it but if they hate Trump so much they are choosing Socialism that is another story. If Abdul El-Sayed wins we have crossed a line, the voters will have selected a man with deep ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, a man who signed a letter urging Egyptian leadership to PURGE the press, and he campaigned with a man who said America had 9/11 coming to it. That is beyond hate of Trump, that is the end of a great 250 year experiment.
  8. Agree with you on the first part. If you look at 1990 to 1992, and 2006 to 2008, it didn’t matter that opposing party of the president had control of Congress…the party of the presidency still paid the price for the country not doing so hot. I think 2028 could be similar. And yep—Iran and the tariffs are what largely screwed everything up, but it was almost (if not all) self inflicted. In contrast I’d like to think the majority of the country doesn’t like what the Mamdani, AOC, or, Bernie Sanders types are pushing, but maybe I’m wrong and we’re at some sort of tipping point?
  9. I hope that happens too, the problem is trump still has two more years in office and all the dems have to do to look good now is stonewall him on everything as he flails around wildly in his lame duck era. So I doubt they'll go into 2028 with any less momentum than they have now. But more broadly this is the biggest reversal I've seen in my lifetime from one party winning in a historic fashion across all branches of government with a clear mandate.. to an absolute bloodbath two years later. Exit polls show the Iran war was a huge driver of this bloodbath and I think history will show this was the decision that did more to torpedo trumps presidency than anything else. Now I can only hope he will get as few of us as possible killed in the remaining time he tries to fumblefuck his way out of it.
  10. There's still some lower profile races yet to be called but it looks like next January the only Republican holding statewide office in Texas will be Ted Cruz.
  11. If this opens the door for the Massie and Rand Paul types to take over, then it would almost be worth it. Sadly I don’t think it will happen.
  12. Don't worry guys I have it on good authority Iran was 2 weeks away from nuking the conus so it was all worth it
  13. republicans are an excellent minority party, but a terrible ruling party. the amount of self ownage trump has done this term is shocking. they deserve this.
  14. Pubs will distance themselves from Trump and MAGA.
  15. Yep—they’re getting destroyed. Be interesting to see what the next 2 years look like.
  16. SNC pulls out of Navy (sts) Breaking DefenseEXCLUSIVE: SNC pulls out of Navy's trainer jet competitio...The service is now planning to issue an award for the UJTS program between July and the end of September 2027.It’s the M-346N, just go ahead and order it. Good jet, get it done.
  17. Divested Breaking DefenseAir Force divests its few A-29s, explores 'future options...A set of three A-29 Super Tucanos are destined for storage after officials at the Air Force Test Pilot School opted against using the turboprops, a spokesperson for Edwards Air Force Base told Breakin
  18. Pubs getting rolled out of Congress. Looking like Abbott is losing his seat as governor.
  19. i'm curious to what their radar tilt was...seems like they weren't painting it.
  20. In the 90s and earlier, it took actual effort to make your craziness known. Printing newsletters and shit and sending them out all the time. Now days, you need a tablet/phone/computer and the world can instantly hear your opinion. Oh and its monetized, the more crazy your take/headeline, the more clicks.
  21. I'm usually not surprised by much these days. The instant, over the top reactions by much of the bozosphere on this accident actually did surprise me a bit. From the left it must've been a Trump sponsored shootdown to the right this had to be DEI related, was honestly just disappointing.
  22. I believe DG is still the top 10%. 18 does seem like a smaller class though. My class started with 24 and we lost a couple at Initial Pilot Training, but picked up a few at the beginning of UPT. There’s a class that has 29 a few classes behind us.

  24. So far the only thing that I can see affected by her age would be how extraordinarily difficult it would be for a 20-year-old FO to tell a 55-year-old PIC that he's a moron for trying to climb over or through/close to a thunderstorm. Hell, I'm 41, experienced, and largely unsocialized, and even still sometimes I have the internal debate over telling the dipshit in the left seat that 20 miles from any thunderstorm is the rule, not a suggestion. Some of these guys act like they are charged a fee for every degree to the left or right that they deviate. Sometimes it feels like it would be easier to just say nothing.
  25. @Blue I agree DEI is an absolute disaster and should be fully eradicated. However in this case, her being a DEI hire (maybe) is not going to be causal. Could be if this was single pilot, but it wasn’t. The 55 yr old dude with an ATP was PIC and ultimately owns all decisions/actions. This accident has a similar vibe to the Amazon crash - why have two experienced, ATP-rated pilots made egregiously “rookie” mistakes, at least apparently at initial glance. I don't think there’s any way in either of these accidents that it doesn’t come fully to the PIC (and contributing by the SIC). I’m generally in the camp of let the investigation play out, and I still am…but also some things are so obvious one can’t not acknowledge it.
