  1. There are many of us who have been married for a considerable amount of time (nearly 25 years in my case) and understand that playing Charlie Sheen may seem like a good idea; but in reality there is something to be said about spending your life with someone you love and raising a family with them...

  2. Just got word today actually that the divorce is final and the judge signed the final judgement. There is so much to tell and I’m at a loss of where to start. The good news first. I got 50/50 custody of my kids through mediation. When it all came down to it all she really wanted was money. If we would have gone to court in our county in Florida I would have gotten reamed. I got unlucky and we got assigned a pro-mommy judge. So glad we settled out of court. The craziness is enough to write a book on, and maybe one day I will. During mediation, my lawyer asked me if I knew what “Borderline Personality Disorder” was. He said that my ex definitely has it. That actually answered a lot of questions I had about what the heck happened and I’m 100% convinced this is the case. Life is sooooo much better now. I didn’t realize how miserable me and the kids were. Now that I have my own place and my own life, I feel 100% free. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

  3. Try to resist the American "dream" to be married and have kids with the nice house with the white picket fence and a dog in the backyard. It's really over-rated and there is an almost 50% chance there will be one huge, steaming pile of dung sitting on top of it when it is too late to get out (without financially and emotionally destroying yourself). I get it. You meet that "perfect" chick who gives great head and seems normal, but there is literally a 50% chance she is a f#cking psycho.

  4. The left will vote for whoever CNN/MSNBC tells them is good and can beat trump. Let’s not get too far into them caring about issues. Tulsi has no chance because the media hasn’t pushed her. You guys are critically thinking about stuff when the reality is, the avg millennial dem wants to know what free stuff they are getting and who will make them feel better/scare them the least. They want this conveniently via social media or quick blurbs, nothing in depth. Not a Trump lover but I hope he wins by a landslide. The dem platform flat out scares me. 6. And there’s the rub. It’d be nice and desired to have both positives, but if we do only get one (because the perfect scenario is unlikely) which do people want? The thing that chaps my ass is how emotional people get and so easily turn a blind eye to facts. I think Obama was very well spoken, polite, resembled the “consummate” politician of a first world country, but I also think his administration fucked it away horribly and he did a terrible job. I think trump is the antithesis of those same qualities, but his administration’s policies and actions are in general far more in line with what this country needs (my opinion obviously). So, perhaps he is the blowhard asshole that we needed at this particular time in our country’s existence. Doesn’t mean someone like him is the answer in ten years, but for now I think we needed a shakeup in the political elite class across both parties. In the end, I don’t care who the man in the seat is or if I’d invite him to my bbq, I care what he and his administration does for America. And right now, the dems are run by socialists, so yeah, I’ll take the loudmouth asshole over that.

  8. Guys, just to be clear...as one of the few resident Democrats and as someone who follows politicos very closely as a hobby, there is just zero appetite for Tulsi Gabbard. She’s been in all of the debates except one (ie not being “totally ignored”), is an elected member of Congress (ie at least has some traditional qualifications), and she’s polling at less than 2% on average. No one polling that low this late in the primary has ever made even a bit of difference in the race. Her fundraising is basically non-existent for a Presidential-level campaign, and anecdotally of all the Democrats I know, I don’t know of a single person supporting her. I will give you than in an MFK of the Democratic primary, she gets my vote for the “F” category hands down. In all seriousness her oddly pro-Assad views are completely disqualifying in my book and I hope the good people of Hawaii make a difference choice for her seat in Congress in 2020. If y’all wanna like her as Republicans or conservatives because she’s hot and currently shitting on Hillary, go for it.

  9. I believe the quote is poorly communicated. I'm pretty sure Gen Kelly is referring to the makeup of the board. All officers up for promotion will be from the same competitive category, but there will be a few board members from outside the cores represented to spice things up.

  10. I am on a waiver for having “childhood asthma” for the past 10 years as a loadmaster. It hasn’t stopped me from deploying or anything. I’m at WP now for my FC1 for a ANG pilot slot and I have to take the MCT and a PFT. I took the MCT when I was in BMT but they won’t accept that since it was used for mY FCIII so I have to endure this fun again. Will let you know how it goes once I’m given the test. Though I’ve passed it before, it’s never a pleasureable experience.

  13. As yet another divorced pilot chiming in on this thread: DO.NOT.GET.MARRIED. I've literally never met a man who regretted staying single.

  14. So what kind of prenup should pilots get before marrying someone? Would your wife be legally required to know about or have access to all or any of your assets?

  15. Can’t fly with contact lenses at all at any base unless in the USAF contact lens program. Maybe base optometry will enroll him in the program with his existing contacts?

  17. Wouldn't be surprised if you end up pitching in for another two-circle. Many parallels from what you shared with my own trip through BPD-land...including a post decree arrest, multiple convictions, and the list went on (all her, btw). She must have had the shittiest lawyer I've ever heard of to ditch the mil-retirement asset. Score for you. True. Complete financial ruin, an entire generation of wealth destroyed, barely able to make ends meet, unable to provide for more than the essentials for my kids for a while; luckily I was able to stiff-arm BK, but only just. In the end, the sweetest phrase you'll ever hear: Sole physical & legal. Worth. It.

  18. Unless things have changed, You’ll have to start out with glasses at flight training. For contacts, Work with base optometry to get on the contact lens program they will evaluate you and set you up with lenses. This is the only way you are technically allowed to fly with contacts. It is what I do.

  20. That article specifically is one I was talking about. Trump literally admitted on the south lawn that he gives f*** all about the constitution. He asked Ukraine and China for help with the 2020 election. Not to mention the Mulvaney shitshow in the past few days. Its binary ones and zeros...this isnt up for interpretation. I mean I think we're on the same wavelength, but I really think Mcraven is for the boys and has our best interest in mind. I still think he doesn't lean one way or another. I think hes calling out dangers to our democracy. Maybe im wrong, hopefully not.

  21. Some people here are conflicted about his speech because they’re Trump supporters, and they like Mattis, but don’t know how to tap dance around addressing Trump’s clueless insults of Mattis. Also, McRaven apolitical? Sure 😂 http://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/17/opinion/trump-mcraven-syria-military.amp.html

  22. It wasn't enough. I don't forgive him for joining that dumpster fire of a presidency then bailing. And that weird blood racket operation too... Mcraven is the hero here. He is calling it like it is, completely apolitical and just remaining loyal to the US.

  25. I think everything is way worse than we thought. If Trump wins, the nation should mourn. America deserves better. If Warren or Sanders win, the nation as we know it could die. I'm flummoxed. Trump has been giving them opportunity after opportunity to beat him next year, and each time they find a way to be more politically and philosophically toxic. And if Trump does win, which I think he might, I'm not sure how Democrats go on. RBG gets replaced by Amy Barrett, another woman loses to the (perceived) ultimate misogynist, and the country continues to fragment. It's ugly

  26. Hey guys. Just wanted to update that I got picked up from a guard unit recently. This was my third board and I am stoked for this journey. I HIGHLY recommend the consulting package from Bogidope. I really think they played the major factor in making my resume and cover letter stand out and preparing me for the interview. They really teach you how to tailor your strengths into killing the interview.
