Same in the MAF.  The most apt description of some particular artwork I may, or may not, have been a part of was "veiny triumphant bastard" inside our WO's hat.

Back in the day drawing dicks in a 4 star’s hat and throwing it in the freezer was good to go - probably get you castrated on AD nowadays.

In non AFSOC helos, nobody was safe from a solid Hog.  Not even O-6s.  Those nasty habits from Pave Low gunners spread to other helos like herpes.

Edit: Coincidentally, in AFGSC there's a helicopter ops group alson known as the HOG.

When I was a DO the CC had a spare hat to leave on his desk so people would think he was in the building.

"Decoy hats!"  I had a Wing Commander teach me that one as a lieutenant! 🫡🫡

An extra set of keys helped with the deception!!

Years ago, ended up at Shaw to build an A/OA-10 squadron with 17-ish Lt.s converting from the OV-10.  These guys are fired up, fangs out, and ready to learn. Friday night at the club and Lt. Gen Horner, 9AF/CC, shows up with his entourage of flunkies and hangers-on and they sit at a giant round table in the corner of the bar.  I noticed Horner had his hat hanging dangerously halfway out of his leg pocket.  I grabbed one of the young lieutenants by the collar, pointed at Horners hat, and told him his mission was to put that hat on the bar.  He throws himself on the floor and commences to low crawl towards the 3 star and remains unobserved as he picks the hat from the pocket.  He successfully egresses with the hat then heads to bar depositing the hat and ringing the bell.  An announcement is made asking "Is there any 3 star missing their hat? Please see the bartender.". Horner sends a minion thus scoring negative points with those in attendance.

I'll add the Gen. Fogleman had his hat polyurethaned in the A-10 squadron bar at Osan and would show up on Friday night to buy a round.

Along with a spare set of keys and sunglasses

ART's used to get a second CAC (not sure if that's still a thing) and they would leave it in the computer and go home. Genius.

Gen. Fogleman is a first class act.  I had just left the AF out of DMAFB when he came in as the new 1 star ADO.  Moral was bad.  First thing he did was to host Crud tournaments at the O'Club.

That explains things somewhat!

Back around '97, D-M hosted an ACC Crud tournament. It was sponsored by Hiram Walker and the winning team got $10,000.

Every ACC base but one sent a team. It was awesome.

When we got there, the Wing CC Colonel gave a talk to all of the teams in the Club. Cynical me was waiting to hear the usual spiel, blah blah blah.

Instead, he gave a great but short talk about keeping the traditions alive and to make the most of the weekend. I don't remember the specific worlds but it was so refreshing to hear someone tell us to push it up hard and leave exhausted. I have no idea how he got promoted keeping those old school values, but I'm glad he did.

We proceeded to have a pretty epic 3-days.

I guess it was in D-M's DNA.

Glad the tradition carried on Huggy.  The first one was '85 just as I was leaving the AF.

Where did that AETC general go? And what contract does that company have?

If you are referring to Phil Stewart, he was found guilty of dereliction of duty and conduct unbecoming.

He was reduced from Maj Gen to Brig Gen, and retired in May.

2 months restricted to base.  $60,000 in pay to be forfeited over 6 months.

How many on BO would volunteer to pay 60 k and be restricted to base for 2 months to walk away with an O-7 retirement?

Not me.

The career paths those guys had are not the paths that I would want.

Wonder who’s going to arrive via mil-air and return via Spirit?

800 GOFOs?  WTactualF...time for a large culling of the herd.

Random thoughts:

1.  The number of straphangers/peppergrinders that will also travel is going to be stunning.  Aide(s), security details, comm teams, CAG directors or equivalants, etc, etc, etc.  Pretty big airlift right there.  And imagine finance having to deal with this during a government shutdown.  Oh, the wailing and gnashing of teeth will be glorious...

2.  Spare a thought for the 800 execs/aides/CAG directors, etc who are being mercilessly squeezed right now to find out WTF?  Will bros in SECDEF/(SECWAR?) leak and take the risk?  Somebody will undoubtedly, whether uniform or civilian.  But the hours spent thrashing will also be glorious...pretty sure all business at 4-star places will this 24/7 to cover every possible contingency ("Prep a brief/note cards/talking points on XYZ x 1 million")  Think of the wasted electrons...

3.  NGB was told to chop GO billets as well.  Wonder if the administration will target only certain states?
