  2. Good find. I had never seen the full video, only the one that showed the last bit. That wingman sucked. He's probably the OG/CC now.

  3. I am 0.1 mm deep into what AI architecture is, but I heard that the chiners basically developed a different method to do AI, akin to Google creating its search algorithms and taking over the search engine market. PS. Mr Pelosi dumped his Nvidia shares just before their big drop. I look forward to the insider trading charges against him. Martha Stewart his ass.

  5. Correct. Furthermore, Boeing purposely underbid the contract in ways that would be considered malfeasance on the part of a customer, in trying to legitimize it. Some may go farther and imply collusion in said decision, but that's for another thread. Point being, COTS was maliciously handwaved away here, and some people [have already, and] will die for that capitalization fraud. That is really the start and the end of the conversation right there. That is the only thing that moves the needle in an enterprise that is otherwise considered soo scutwork and small fry for Big Air Force, they're willing to equivalence away our experience to that of sub-ATP, low time piston CFIs. There are so many layers of plausible deniability baked into the training pipeline, they'll always handwave it away as something else. You can't debate in good faith with these self-preserving shapeshifters. @Ant-man assessment from the FTU perspective is absolutely correct. They WILL rationalize the increasing shit product, while gaslighting all of you into believing the dilution as an innovative reformulation. And when people die, they'll sacrifice-lamb direct local leadership at the unfortunate ops squadron (see Shaw Viper class A, an undergraduate student of mine btw). But don't you dare look an inch backwards when investigating....

  6. Aaaand not as neat. Glad the pilot got out. Is this karma for resurrecting the other one? https://www.adn.com/alaska-news/military/2025/01/28/f-35-crashes-at-eielson-air-force-base-military-officials-say/

  8. During WWII there were scientists in the Manhattan project leaking research to the Soviets. They thought the technology was too powerful and too dangerous to be in the hands of one nation. And the technical, socially awkward, autistic-adjacent minds of the world's top brainiacs had an uncomfortable appreciation for a communist system that "solved" a lot of the messiness associated with a free democratic system. Sound familiar? I can't imagine how the Chinese got their hands on that data when nearly every originating member of the OpenAI team has resigned with very public protests regarding the safeguards in place for the advent of AGI.

  9. 5.7 originally designed to meet NATO specs as we know to include the body armor parameters. Makes sense when those caught behind enemy lines could have a better chance of slowing down/keeping the heads down of the advancing party with AKs perhaps while their air chariot egg beater arrived. It was a decent theory and a good choice, but as said before there are so many choices of home defense, etc rounds it’s mind boggling. *If you have access to the premier rounds to defeat body armor than it is undeniably a game changer if required. Extremely accurate, light weight, high round count, extended range and velocity have their merits and many have mentioned situation dependent. Fun is up there as well.

  10. What a friggin nerd. Also that’s the same logic the Army used to can flight suits for pilots back in the day.

  13. He certainly is an interesting choice. I agree with some of his thoughts on nutrition but dude is outright whacky on vaccines and some other items. At least one good thing came from his nomination, Red Dye 3nis now out in the U.S. matching the rest of the world...please don't cry about your fruity pebbles.

  15. 20+1 rounds in a top-loading auto pistol is intriguing, and at that price point it well may be worth trying; but I have never been a fan of the 5.7x28mm round. Sure, it will penetrate soft body armor than most handgun rounds; but what really are the odds of that being a factor in a self-defense situation? Plus, my house pistols are only to get me to my Mossberg 500! It can get decent penetration and expansion if you use ammo such as the Federal Personal Defense 40g JHP; but there are much better self-defense calibers out there which are easier and cheaper to find. As LR stated, it does have velocity, recoil and capacity in its favor; but the potential drawbacks such as over-penetration and cost would never replace the .45 or 9mm in my opinion. But at four hundred bucks (MSRP), it certainly is interesting enough to try if I ever see one available. My safes are full of firearms I bought just for the opportunity to shoot them! I am glad a buddy had a S&W Model 500 that he let me shoot, it saved me a lot of money realizing that particular revolver just wasn't for me! There's not a huge moose threat here in southcentral Texas!

  17. Retarded. He starts the article by telling us that he *used to* talk to Elon all the time, then provides an analysis that has zero insider insight or connection to his experiences with Elon. But he hopes the reader will assume that his five reasons are somehow informed by something Elon told him. Point 2 is a perfect example. He should have written "I believe he was upset..." But instead he makes it seem like Elon told him this personally. Point 3 is even more retarded. Lot of people out there who are upset they didn't get to ride the elevator to the top with him.

  18. Yeah I'm breaking my rule about new calibers, because this is such an intriguing gun. It's a pure CCW gun, no other purpose, so 5.7 makes sense if you want to cram the maximum number of rounds in it. And once you're proficient with it, you only need to keep a single box of carry ammo for it, and you can just buy a box at the range when you pop in to stay current. I dunno, it might suck, but it might also be genius. I'll let y'all know when I get it. If it was $800-1k I'd laugh and move on. But at $400, if I don't like it I'll sell it for $200 and call it a day, or just keep it in the safe to confuse people đŸ¤£.

  22. You're missing the point. There are two reasons this is interesting, the first is California and other states that are putting restrictions on how many rounds are removable magazine can carry. This bypasses it in a way that will drive them insane. But the second, which I find more compelling, is how many people out there think that they're going to be reloading in some sort of Red Dawn style shootout. The idea of this new pistol is to give you 21 rounds in something much smaller and easier to conceal than a full frame handgun. If it conceals as well as a p365, then I would much rather have the extra eight rounds then the ability to swap magazines (which I absolutely do not carry extra magazines). But it's Kel-Tec. They're basically the only innovative gun maker left, but they strike out *a lot.* I will say, I have enjoyed the KSG-410 quite a bit.

  25. Thank you all for the responses, I have some responses, good news, and bad news: I've made significant progress on my personal hurdles that required me to take antidepressants years ago and currently have glowing recommendations from HIMS neuropsychiatrists and my AME to get my 1st class. No DUI or major drug abuse issues, just a misdemeanor weed possession case from over 10 years ago that was my 1st and only offense (besides the occasional traffic/parking ticket) I'm on the cusp of getting my 1st class medical according to the FAA. They're just asking for 1 more report from my general physician, which I've acquired and submitted. What really pushed the FAA is that I wrote President Biden in November asking him to look in on my case due to the 8 month delay, and the FAA responded separately acknowledging that his office reached out I took the ASTB for the Navy (I'm trying all the service branches that I can) and scored very low, but now I have a better idea of what I need to improve on

  26. UPT Select: 70 PCSM 82 Pilot, No PPL. package was 1/1 at wing, top 20 percent wing Strat, top group strat, and 3 Star. I was able to do RPP and met with a lot of people that organized the boards. From what I was told they are really homing in on a more whole person concept (leadership abilities and adaptability). Try to get as involved as you can in your wing and communities organizations that are attached to the wing. I routinely volunteered in the community, I was a VVA, and was a board member on my CGOC. I somewhat had breadth of experience, my CC allowed me to deploy to a high vis job outside of my career field where I was able to rub shoulders with a lot of the armed forces top brass. I know this is something that is not completely feasible for people in more operational AFSC's. Look out for cool hotjobs and if you can find out who your udm is so that if people reclama for something you can volunteer with CC approval. Put yourself out there and network at your wing if you are able!

  27. Marine Corps Blames Pilot Error for Crash of Malfunctioning F-35 in South Carolina Forest Kind of a fucked up situation with a non-aviator Commandant reaching in to roll this dude long after the fact. A quick summary of events, some of you may know more: 1. Crap Weather 2. Dude went missed approach 3. While on going missed his HMD glitches three times going blank - the report indicates no attitude information (assuming in the HMD), but does not say nothing about primary displays 4. The report says he lost his transponder AND radios 5. "With no visible reference to the horizon or ground, and unsure of which flight instruments he could trust, he perceived that the aircraft was still not responding to his commands to convert -- and therefore was out-of-controlled flight," 6. If you read the report (which is heavily redacted), they place the blame on the pilot "The investigation concluded that the mishap was a result of "pilot error" in that Del Pizzo incorrectly diagnosed the out-of-control flight emergency and "ejected from a flyable aircraft -- albeit under extremely challenging cognitive and flight conditions." 7. The report recommends NO punitive action against the pilot. 8. Leadership reviews the report, puts him back on status and sends him to a follow on command. 9. 100 days into new Command the Commandant does a second review of the report and decides to mort this guy in what can best be described as a perception kill. 2,000' in bad weather with a malfunctioning jet and your brain stem can't determine what is up and what is down...hard to blame a dude for punching because he is Spacial D.
