Saw the prior posts on FWQ but am curious what the current status is? Got a fellow switching Army helos to AF helos(reserve) and per the recent AFI he would still need to attend phase II T6s followed by MWS helo school. Anybody know how that works? He's over 30 so is it considered FWQ still or UPT or what? Age waiver required? What base is conducting this training? XL?

I think joint basing would work and save money if independent auditors were allowed to select the most efficient way of doing things. Either combining the AF and Army way, choosing the best process from either branch, or doing it a completely different way. Imagine airmen having having to cut grass in front of their respective buildings like the Army. I've seen a lot of pics with dudes sporting the CE mask and vest, and quite a few pics of guys with the CE mask but no vest. Do factors of the sortie determine whether or not the vest is worn, or is it more of a personal preference type of thing? Thanks.

Hello everyone! Does anyone have any experience or know someone with experience with crosstraining from a loadmaster to a pilot or navigator? I am pretty sure I am about to take a loadmaster position with the 136th Airlift Unit in Fort Worth, but at the same time not losing my dream of becoming a pilot or navigator. Was thinking...would it be worth it to go in Guard/Reserve during college if it helped my pilot chances? I'm not just doing it to help my pilot chances, I think it would also just benefit me overall as a person. I have two concerns though: a) What happens in terms of deployment if it's the middle of the semester? Is the two-week deployment during the summer or is it held at any point of the year? And what field is deployed the least? I guess if I got sent somewhere in the middle of a semester I could make up credits in the summer session, but I'm sure it's be a royal pain. I always wanted to do freefall at the academy or airborne training but I know that will be very hard to go to since there are so many cadets at Riddle that want that as well. So I was wondering is there any way you can go to jump school when you go AD? If so, how do you get it and how competitive is it? Lastly, I will be going to field training soon and I have an injured wrist. Will they let me wear a wrist guard (it's pretty small)?
