BA's maintenance is carried out by its own teams. The report from the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) said the fan cowl doors from both engines detached as the aircraft left the runway at Heathrow, puncturing a fuel pipe on the right engine. Not a comparison, just mentioning two airlines who are better off now, than 10 years ago. But then, neither are hiring like gangbusters, so I guess the boom is still a ways away...
