Anyone remember the names of Afghan students who have graduated UPT in the U.S. I think most of them were sent to Columbus, but with continuity over here (none), it's hard to tell. Working on yet another pet project and this would make things much easier. Please PM me names if you remember them, and do not post them to the public forum. .Mil addy available upon request.

Here's the deal, after ten years of civilian life, I've decided that it's time to serve again. (I did nine years on active duty.) I've talked to a reserve unit, and will soon schedule a physical to get the ball rolling. In the mean time, I was wondering if there's anybody out there who can help me with some questions concerning the viability of my choice, and what other options might be available to me with other units or career fields. Anybody with any AWAC background or insights would be especially appreciated. Background: (Military) 9 years enlisted AD TS Presidential Support clearance Bacground: (Civilian) Insructor Pilot Airline Pilot Published Author …

Since I am not getting the money for college that I was supposed to get, I am considering enlisting in the Air Force for 4 years, get out, use my GI Bill, go to college, and then come back as an officer. The only AF jobs that are available to me, and the ones that I'm interested in, are (2T0X1) Traffic Management, (2T2X1) Air Transportation, and (4Y0X1) Dental Assistant. I was wondering if anyone in-the-know here can fill me in on these positions, maybe give some pros and cons. Also, is it worth keeping my car if I enlist or should I sell it? I know I probably won't need it if I get deployed, but then again I don't know if I'll be deploying whole lot with either of these …

I'm new to the board. I plan on sticking around a lurking for a while and maybe posting a few things. From what I've seen so far this site has tons of useful info. To start things off I thought I'd try to get some of your advice on a few things. First of all, I'm 23 with a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M (3.5 GPA) and currently employed by Boeing in Long Beach, CA. I've always loved planes and I thought when I was hired to work on the C-17 it was my dream job and I was set for at least a couple of years. Well, after a year I think the pilot bug bit hard enough for me to respond. It's always been in the back of my mind but the combination of time…

Thanks for reading! I am a 10 year active duty Marine Special Operations Officer with Marine Special Operations Command. I recently hit the lottery and got hired by an Air National Guard unit to change career paths and go to flight school and fly jets for them. The day before my flight physical Wright Patterson called to let me know I can't do the physical because I have a back surgery on my record. In 2011 I was wounded twice in Afghanistan and had some minor surgeries to recover in the coming years, and one was a micro-discectomy L5-S1 and was back to full duty two months later. I have done over two years of operations since the minor back surgery and multi…

Hangar 24 AirFest is going to be a two-day event for 2018 (19-20 May). It's in Redlands, CA... Airport is KREI... runway is 4504' x 75'. https://www.airnav.com/airport/KREI Can a T-6 get a waiver to land there? They would really like one since military support is big deal with Hangar 24. This is will be a cool event. PM me if interested.

So I got a negligent driving, second degree ticket this summer (before I started ROTC) and put it down on the list of infractions when I was filling out the paper work. Well, just last week one of the cadre asked me to fill out this paper explaining exactly what happened. I'm just curious if something like a negligent driving ticket will ruin or lessen my chance at a pilot slot. I took the ticket to court and it was dismissed. I'm just hoping I didn't shoot myself in the foot by getting that sort of ticket. I know it's not a felony or anything, but it is the highest traffic violation.

Tried the search function and there is only info for Creech. My wife just received orders to Nellis AFB. They've only given us a week notice before she needs to hit the road. We are trying to find her an apartment that is in a good neighborhood not too far from base. She is not into gambling or drinking so being close to the night life or near the strip is important to her(I on the other hand can't wait to visit!) . Any recommendations on cities/areas/apartment complexes we should check out?

My IP approached me today about going to Vegas for cross country. I'm hoping to get him to fly into McCarren and stay on or near the strip. Does anyone know of any great deals in vegas for lodging. The last thing I want to do is stay at Nellis.

I was wondering if this information was true? I remember a few months ago their being a press release where the AD would be sending new pilots to ANG/RES squadrons for their first 3 years. I have searched high and low for the release and this website. The pilot would be placed in the ANG squad just as easily as an AD squad in Korea. Any and all information would be appreciated.

"Maj. Gen. Andrew Toth, a fighter pilot who has flown hundreds of combat hours over Iraq, took command of the Air Force Personnel Center on Aug. 9." Hopefully this results in more transparency and less smoke and mirrors shoe clerkery. https://www.airforcetimes.com/news/your-air-force/2018/08/13/experienced-fighter-pilot-iraq-veteran-takes-command-at-afpc/

I've been searching online for a week now on some of the new aviator glasses I saw a pilot down at tyndall wearing. THey were more sleek than the normal round lense aviators. Anyone know what I'm talking about and how to get some?

Just thought I'd remind everyone that the new BAH rates came out today. Got a nice increase (almost $300) for my duty zip code duty station. Here's the direct link to the calculator. https://www.defensetravel.dod.mil/site/bahCalc.cfm

RR won the contract over GE and PW. With the engine and some other upgrades, sounds like the old gal will get a new designation to B-52J and fly well into 2050s. Would be cool if it made it to 2061 to make it 100 years on some of those models. https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/42517/rolls-royce-will-provide-long-awaited-new-jet-engines-for-the-b-52-bomber-fleet

https://www.af.mil/news/story.asp?storyID=123011984 This is the first chain of command of this position since I've commissioned. Anyone care to discuss if they ever saw any significant changes after the position changed from one person to another in the past? I know that he is the President's top military advisor, and commands no troops, but I was wondering if things could change a whole lot, and if so, how quickly they could take effect. Just some food for thought (Better than flaming each other and listening to the trolls from the "other" side b*tch & moan about their forum closing) [ 01.
