FAA Shutdown So does this mean they have no governing authority during the shutdown? Also scary, other things are probably next. (Like us)

Hey what do you guys think about a FAA sport pilot rating? Is it a gay rating that you would be extremely limited in use? I've got about 35 hours in a C-152 as I was working towards my private, and don't know if I would be able to get a private rating due to some circumstances. However, the transition to sport pilot seems very easily doable. Does anyone here have a sport rating and use it or is it pointless and a private rating is the only thing to be concerned with? I know that this is not mil related but some love on this would be appreciated.

A few questions regarding the FAC-A qualification Is there a course or qualification in the AF that a non-fighter qualified pilot can attend? Will a pilot have to be tied to a traditional FAC-A airframe (A-10, F-16, etc...)? Is there a way a pilot from another airframe can become qualified to operate as a FAC-A i.e. AC/MC/HC-130, HH-60, CV-22, etc...?

In the recent past, the AF in its infinite wisdom has decided to stop giving 'follow-on' assignments to FAIPs as they have in the past. (For example, 37 FAIP with a Fighter follow-on or a TONE FAIP with a Strat. follow-on). For the T-1 FAIPs at XL, I have heard that recent FAIP follow-on drops have included an E3, E8 and a 135 to the Forks (Bergman you might know this guy), as well as a couple of C17s and a C5. Recent fighter type drops from XL have included numerous 16s and a Mudhen. Just wondering how the FAIP mafia is fairing as far as the other bases go...

Hi, could someone give me some information about he Falcon Foundation Scholarship. I'm a 16 year-old Sophomore interested in going to the Air Force Academy. During my senior year of High School I want to attend one of the five military service academies and I'm wondering if the Falcon Foundation Scholarship will help finacially such as the prep school part of the Academies. Or is this scholarship for High School Graduates that haven't been accepted into the Academy? Also, how much is each scholarship worth? I doubt my parents can fork out $25,000 for a year of schooling(schooling not being college). Any info would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I'm a T-45c stud at Nas Meridian. I just started ONAVS(VR and IR routes). It is taking me way too long to do these vr routes on falconview mostly because I suck at it. The instructors just breezed through a couple of examples and watched over our shoulders as we did ours. Does anyone know where I can get some written out falconview instructions to be a little more efficient at this stuff?

It is with great sadness to tell you that we have lost a Special Tactics Warrior deployed from 21 STS yesterday in Afghanistan. TSgt William Jefferson (WJ) was killed when the vehicle in which he was riding was struck by an IED. TSgt Jefferson is survived by his wife Kristy and daughter, Tyler. I ask you to join all of us here at Hurlburt and our deployed locations as we come together to provide support and love for the families, friends and teammates of our fallen warrior. Will was a great CCT and true Patriot. Blue Skies.....

If you get orders to Little Rock AFB and want to bring your family with you, consider sending us a message on our web page at www.littlerockcrashpads.com and ask us if we have availability. See you soon! CP

I always wondered, when your actually active duty and your assigned to lets say an F-16D (2 seater). What if you wanted to give your brother or father a ride in the back with you. If they are healthy enough to pass the physical is this allowed?

I may not get a response to this question. Pilots normally don't give a sh t. Does the Major service cap have the farts and darts or is it for Lt Cols and above.
