  1. Past hour
  2. From what I can decode from the clutter. As BBB is written now, suppressors are completely written out of the NFA. No tax or registration and destruction of previous registrations. SBRs will be worked in Senate. The removal is under the Hearing protection act and there is another option in there that only removes the tax as a separate rider.
  3. Dose BBB bump them off the NFA registry or just eliminate the $200 tax?
  4. Hopefully manufacturers are paying attention
  5. Dude if that makes it through the Senate...
  6. The problem isn't the parties, it's the people. We've reached the part of the cycle where everyone expects everything for less than they put in to the system. We'll either go the route of Greece (in progress) or a big, scary, deadly catastrophe will finally jolt people into a new era of "ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country."
  7. Today
  8. Suppressors and SBRs squeaked into the BBB
  9. I'm not a financial expert...not that many of us are (paging @Finance_Guy)...but I've heard that the CBO uses fairly static analysis when scoring bills. So in this case, tax cuts are continued, but so are the spending levels...which leads to the that score. Just like the outyears in the FYDP, the numbers don't and likely won't reflect reality when it gets here. But it will be interesting to see if D's and R's are willing to actually cut discretionary, let alone entitlement spending. My guess is it'll always be the Party in the minority demanding cuts because they realize it'll never happen...and in four years magically the new minority party will wake up and realize they've always been fiscal hawks. Probably time to come up with a new club in on-line political arguments...
  10. not hearing too much about ukraine in the press these days

  15. Converting billets for the new SpecOps Fighter Pilot Career field.
  16. Any time it’s written or said that the Air Force supports the CAS mission: Straight up bullshit.
  17. He was a lame Gucci boom, so he's looking for outies instead of innies.
  18. Would Biff have dibs’d her?
  19. Last week
  20. That’s a hell of a lot of conspiracy theory there. Not to say there are no things that would benefit his companies, but to address a couple of those points: Starlink is a significant force multiplier in many ways - it is an excellent product that will continue to increase our military capabilities. It’s a better investment than much of what we’ve thrown at LM, Boeing, etc. USAID is complete garbage, not even a shell of what it was originally designed to be. Same applies to many orgs/sub-orgs that DOGE highlighted. The regulatory bureaucracy filled with unelected bureaucrats must die - it is not a negative to target those things for closure.
  21. Of course, it happens the week after I move from Denver 🤬
  22. At least the KC-135 ANG crew that flew a whole sortie naked had a chick copilot.

  24. Musk was able to derail several investigations into Tesla and SpaceX and his new payment platform for X. Musk got what he wanted. All the while DOGE was openly shuttering USAID, Musk was closing down or reducing regulatory agencies and things that would affect him and his companies. He was also able to harvest god knows how much personal data as well as the ability to install backdoors into any number of systems. Oh yeah, and White House communication is going through Starlink now. No way could be abused... He was able to accomplish exactly what he set out to do. https://www.wsj.com/politics/tech-silicon-valley-government-influence-70b43ca6?st=fDN1mW&reflink=mobilewebshare_permalink
  25. And now Musk, by most appearances, is pretty much gone too. https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-wiped-elon-musk-name-150848889.html
  26. I knew him as an O-6, a no nonsense submariner. I would NOT have thought this was the same guy when I saw the headlines. Thing is, dudes that make 4 stars almost always have no problems getting a good post mil gig that doesn't involve doing shady shit. Even the assholes get jobs. If you remember, he was charged with recommeding the fate of the Navy Carrier Capt that sent the SOS email during covid. He rec'd restoration, SecNav chose torpedo.
  27. The Navy/DoD will do an Officer Grade Determination to decide at what lower grade he last served honorably. In theory that could be as low as an O-1. If he were still active and received a dismissal he’d lose all of his retirement. Since he’s retired I’m not sure if that’s an option. The sentencing will be interesting to see.
