    If it’s stable enough for you to climb down from the flight deck and walk to the door, it’s stable enough to land/ditch. If you can’t walk to the door, you’re proper fcuked whether you have a chute or not.

    Sadly, none of this surprises me. The more I learn, the more jaded I get toward our military/political leadership and what kept us in the never ending quagmires since 9/11. This is proof that no one is immune to the government trying to fuck you and make your life a living hell if you piss off the wrong person. It also puts a spotlight on the hypocrisy around the different spanks for different ranks. Never mind the unwillingness of people to do the right thing so as not to upset their careers. Here's hoping the current administration will fix this situation. Funny sidenote on the point they make about being "frozen" in the rank your retired/left the service. Our OG received a call from a FDX guy about a squadron mate who had the audacity to take MLOA during peak. The dude introduced himself as Maj Gen XXX and to our OG's credit, he made a point to let him know that his retired rank didn't mean shit, then prompted told him to go fuck himself, the MLOA was legit.

    I’ve heard lots of credible source negatives about Crenshaw for several years. Unfortunate, I had high hopes at the beginning.

    I started IPUG right before I went on a long tdy when I found out I made it. Got back from said tdy and was promptly removed from IPUG. I wish I could have gotten it just for the K code but I guess the DO didn't want to waste his time with me and my CC just backed up the the DO and said it was his decision. Looks good when you go up for Major but you should have enough time to get your K code when you eventually get to your new MWS if you're a Lt right now or even a young Captain.

    Same. Was saddened to hear that Crenshaw is in that bucket from their perspective. I was hoping he'd be one of the good guys. Perhaps he is, but the comment Ryan mentions about Crenshaw's "boys down at 6" was disheartening.

    Probably like the Marine 130 vid above. I wonder if the swap to the NP2000 8 blade scimitar prop would be any different if one of those lost a blade. Or J model. The Marine KC-130J that was hit by the F-35 in CA and put it down in a field showed all the blades on 3 and 4 were missing. Just pondering out loud. As for E models, time to start wearing parachutes like a B-17 crew.

    precisely my point. I grew up 3 hours away from D-town, and it used to be a place you'd go just because you could...much like NYC. NO ONE goes there now unless they have a specific reason. NYC could easily go that way. It would take a couple decades, but I've lived in and visited major cities (well beyond seeing the airport and hotel) that suffered through the awesome-to-aweful transition as the result of socialist mismanagement. Bucharest, Sophia, Tbilisi, Beirut, San Francisco, and specific burbs of the LA basin all stand out as examples.

    Yes, 3 nights ago. Hotel was decent. Detroit, big airport, shit place for tourism, except the Lions. NY, the opposite, complete with 2x shitty football teams. Regardless, two different animals.

    Certainly there are platforms that benefit from a construct like this, and if that is the reason for the renewed discussion you could say I'm all for it. Limiting it to platforms that are in high demand with inherently low flight time available makes a lot of good sense. That said, I have a feeling that this subject is coming up because of the UPT/FTU pipeline problem, which was wholly self-induced. And if that is the reason, all I can do is shake my head.

    I’m not in my window until May I think. I’m on leave for the next week and then my last 2 weeks on mids after that. Then my team goes on recon for 7 weeks and I don’t go back to flying the line until February so I’m hoping to be out processing by then. I am going to finish my MCC upgrade though. I’m just glad I don’t have to go through IPUG because I know I would’ve started in December if I didn’t get picked up lol.

    I've been combing just about everything multiple times a day and no dice. In the meantime, Im enjoying the upgrade blender and depending on PCS dates my finny flight may well be my checkride with the holidays about to eat up my month 3 and 4.
