  2. Those are the tanker dudes I love and respect. For the ones who would not move their location to better support TICs (especially really bad ones) or EPs/low fuel states, fuck you for being a gigantic pussy. For the young guys out there - do the right thing, deal with the man later.
  3. Today
  4. Two. Very disappointed there weren't two lines - one for those returning to their jobs and one for those retiring. However, good speech by Hegseth, certainly not sugar-coated political correctness. Also, despite the non-culling of the herd, still like the idea of various minor princes(ess') being returned to the mother ship and seeing that they are not special; that there's actually a bunch of them. And that here are the direct, to your face, expectations. Hope the coming fat and PT tests start taking out the hippos.
  5. Just watched an interesting analysis by CappyArmy of current logistics in Ukraine that's rather thought provoking. The way the Russians have devolved their logistics into inefficient yet effective small packages is the concept of "too ubiquitous to crush". Obviously not the ideal we should go for, but it brings up a concept the USAF needs to think about. I could see the benefit of a high number of small tankers (and airlifters) that are collocated with (or near) users all over the Pacific that denies China the ability to target them all, compared to putting all our assets in to the Hickam/Guam/Okinawa basket that can are easily targeted and difficult to defend. I think the airlifters are already prepping for that. I don't feel the the refuelers doing the same. When I taught at the AOC school, I was always stymied by the tanker mentality that focused almost completely on efficiency instead of effectiveness. In Iraq and Afgh, you'd be labeled as a rogue tanker pilot if you relocated your orbit to sit over or near the TIC to facilitate the fight. I know because I've spoken with enough of them. One was even threatened with paperwork for "disobeying orders" afterwards...he was literally the airborne standby tanker with no scheduled receivers...mind blowing. Our current air planners grew up with that rigidity and they now need to scrap efficiency and focus on effectiveness. 400 small tankers just might fit that bill. Not a guaranteed solution, but worth a full analysis. Unfortunately big blue's air planners have often proven far too inflexible and far to ready to scrap possible solutions because they aren't "efficient". More importantly, the USAF needs to produce tanker pilots that are willing and empowered to think outside of the box...but that's a discussion for another thread.
  6. Just adding for more material to discuss on smaller tankers / transports Bae 146 tanker https://www.flightglobal.com/uk-says-no-thanks-to-bae-146-tanker/111331.article Not selected but was interesting IMHO, the Bae 146 STA, side loading transport aircraft. https://www.key.aero/article/why-bae-146-side-loading-tactical-airlifter-failed
  7. No, like all the other “never trumpers” he’ll take extra Tylenol, even if it shuts down his liver, just to prove he hates orange man.
  8. PM me, my AME in FWB is good. But I know who the reviews are about, and they’re accurate.
  9. You’ve led people before I’m sure. You are about to roll out a massive change in your organization’s culture and direction. For argument’s sake let’s say most of your minions are geographically separated. You’re saying you would do it over email?
  10. Absolutely not what I was hearing. The exact opposite actually. Actively lobbied for the gig. Now, back when CQ left early for CJCS, and Allvin moved up to CSAF - he was in consideration for VCSAF and politely declined. Instead landed a short stint as COMACC before retiring (got to keep up that CMR sortie rate after all). There was other plans for CSAF (ie Bra was always going to replace Allvin - who knew for a long time was going to leave early) - but House of Cards shenanigans pursued, and Cruiser actively pitched into the fight. Oh the reindeer games we play…

  12. Honest question; he was retired, how did he get strong armed into it?
  13. This seems like a new spin. The dems, through their proxies at cnn and msnbc, have rolled out their version of the doomsday clock.
  14. Rumors he hated Wilsbach when he was the ACC/CC, so he would really hate him as CSAF.
  15. So...you were right. Could have just been an email.
  16. Can't wait for the enemy within to get dealt with by deploying the military to every major city in the US to train. Real strong "states rights" vibe from the side that consistently cried about it. Also, “When you let the small stuff go, the big stuff eventually goes, so you have to address the small stuff,” Hegseth said. “This is on duty, in the field and in the rear... We don’t have a military full of Nordic pagans.” Been on here a while, and some of you should hate the small stuff/big stuff comment. Also, did he check with the FBI director? I thought we were supposed to go to Valhalla?

Unfortunately, you were already in violation of Title 39 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 232.1 (also 39 CFR § 232.1) which states "no person may carry or store firearms, explosives, or other dangerous or deadly weapons on USPS property, either openly or concealed, except for official purposes." This includes vehicles parked on postal property. Unlike 18 U.S. Code §930, which prohibits carry in Federal facilities, the CFR covers "any portions of real property, owned or leased by the Postal Service, that are leased or subleased by the Postal Service to private tenants for their exclusive use" https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/39/232.1 I got into a debate with the owner of the Rio Medina General Store who felt because they leased a small section in the back to the USPS, the entire property fell under this regulation. She was wrong. Luckily, local police don't enforce Federal laws; it would most likely require a Postal Inspector and they are rare birds to see in the wild! I am glad a court finally addressed this unconstitutional restriction, it will be interesting to see how quickly the correction is implemented (already doubtful) especially consider the shutdown that started today...
  18. I'm sure he's great. It's not like we have a cadre of purely sociopathic generals. But the nature of the system is such that only "yes men" are going to make it to the top. There's no real metric for effectiveness or success when we aren't in a global war of existential magnitude, so ass-covering and knob-polishing are the prerequisites. How many shitty bosses with toxic leadership did this guy serve without quitting? How about the first time his commander in chief babbled nonsensically on the global stage from 2017-2021? No, because there was still runway ahead for his career. These are the same chumps that spent their youth in the O-Clubs with strippers, drove back to their dorms drunk, then 20 years later told us with a straight face that if you have more than 3 drinks in a night (0-0-1-3) you are a bad officer, while neglecting to mention they have a bottle of Scotch in their Wing King desk. There was never a cause-of-the-day they wouldn't support, whether it was the drunk-sex-is-rape crusade of 2003, the great heritage room massacre of 2012, the Covid firings, or the transification attempt only recently squashed. They love their country, and they served it more than most Americans could ever fathom. But they were not, are not, men of principal and backbone. They are the ones who could best morph into whatever the next boss wanted from them, and the idea that an All-Call would be the last straw is laughable.

Court: Post Office Gun Ban is Unconstitutional A couple years ago I was running errands and had to stop at the Post Office to drop off a package and grab some stamps. I had my pistol and I was about to get out of my truck when I remembered. For a second I thought, meh I will only be in there for a minute but I took the extra .69 seconds and took it off and under the seat. I was standing in line and felt someone right behind me, I turned around and it was cop...probably just running an errand himself but my heart skipped a beat for a second.
  20. Perhaps you are talking to different people than I am. I had nothing but good interactions with him.
  21. Oh please. The only sword these guys fall on is the fleshy kind that gets you promoted if you don't gag too hard on it. His plan fell apart, so he's leaving. Same as it ever was.
  22. Bussiere is a different cat, he was never up for CSAF. Worst kept secret was him being next VCSAF...it was a done deal. Maybe he had enough....maybe Trumps driveling speech about cardstock and paper weight probably pushed him over the edge.
  23. Is he fat? Edit: He just lost the contest for CSAF. Or doesn't like the winner. Bleh. Also I wish they would stop acting like getting paid millions by joining a Defense Contractor for their military connections is somehow "finding new ways to support our Air Force, our national defense, and the incredible people." No speech required. Thank you for your service. Next.
  24. After only 40 years of service, what a quitter!
  25. I hope he doesn’t go after fat contractors Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
