  2. Hello and thank you for reading this. I am hoping to get an idea of the lifestyle of each of the different Aircraft. Planning to track Heavies. (Cargo/Tanker). I have seen many people comment in the past that there will be opportunities to speak with guys/gals, while in UPT, that have flown each aircraft in the past. That is no longer the case. There is limited knowledge in terms of what the lifestyle is for each different plane (i.e. KC-46, KC-135, C-17, C-5, etc.) Wondering if there are any current or former pilots on here that would be willing to chime in with their thoughts on how they liked/didn't like their career as a heavy pilot.
  3. Many years ago, when one of my kids was young, he did not display the attitude/effort we expected of him during T-ball. End of season participation trophy’s get handed out, my wife makes him give it to her and she throws it into the nearest trash can, telling him he didn’t earn it (and why). All the other pussy parents looked on in disbelief. My kid basically never again had a bad attitude or lack of effort, and this incident was 9 years ago. The little things matter - coddling your kids produces shit adults.
  4. There are probably tens of millions a year spent on useless TDYs/PCSs. Cue every person who goes to in-person PME, every bullshit “TDY for the boys” (but they are fun as shit!), every guy who travels to unending conferences and meetings while not providing, nor consuming, anything of value to their job and other attendees. We have endured a significant identity/priorities crisis for years in the DoD, and unfucking that is critical enough to not just throw it on YouTube or a TEAMs call (where nobody will actually listen/receive anything - they’ll be “present” with their muted mic symbol). Complaining about one TDY out of tons each of these GOs are doing yearly is lazy, political hacking on display. Attack the argument/point SECDEF is driving home, but you can’t, because it’s the most logical direction one has given in my lifetime. So, you jump to a retarded Red Herring argument of “but mAh TdY CoStS!” Hilarious, and sad at the same time.
  5. A little birdie from AFPC told me UFT board results processing is on pause due to the shutdown. I speculate we can expect the release of results to be delayed about as long as the shutdown lasts.
  6. Where? Which dudes? Be specific. Did any of the people who are interacting with you now say that? I certainly didn't. O Face has never used the word "golf" on this forum Also are you equating a game of golf to a commander's call? Are those on the same level of national importance? You have an obnoxious habit of lumping together everything that's ever been said on Fox News as some sort of proxy for what the real individuals here are saying specifically. Why do you come here if not to directly interact with us? Is this just some outlet for you to howl at the moon? There are legitimately interesting conversations that happen on this forum, and on this topic, but all you can respond with is a whataboutism that none of the people talking to you at the moment actually said?
  7. Today
  8. From the dudes that bitched about Obama's golfing costing tax payers money yet silent now. GG.
  9. It wasn't Coach Huggy. And many of the soccer parents were truly not happy I wouldn't.
  10. I know, I know, it's your username, if you weren't miserable about literally everything in the world, what else would you do? But it's pretty amazing to see people defending the *generals* against the first secdef in my lifetime that is telling them they have to live by the same standards they enforce.
  11. So the shipping of a few hundred generals to DC is what finally drove the liberals to financial responsibility?? C’mon! You all have to be able to step back here and realize your hatred may be clouding your judgement just a bit, right? If you listened to Hegseth’s speech, what is it you are upset about? I’m willing to bet the common sense he espoused was exactly something you muttered a thousand times during your career…”Fitness tests should be standard, opportunities should be based on merit, how is that guy still in uniform, he’s super fat, etc, stopping the weaponization of the IG process, focusing on war fighting instead of fighting for social justice. This is the shit we all were pleading for my entire career and this is the first Secretary to even bring it to light. I’m retired now and wish I had heard this kind of direction once during my career, I hope the generals in attendance are bold enough to take the charge. Had we not spent the past few decades litigating ourselves into irrelevance, and fighting our greatest threat - climate change and white supremacy perhaps the gathering would’ve been fine as an email. Unfortunately however, I’d think you would all agree that this is an extremely large departure from years past and it might be better received coming from the horse’s mouth.
  12. Thanks for making my point on AF comm...
  13. The mind numbing repetitive ops of the NW/SW & GWOT planted a deep culture in AMC of thinking they were a military version of Fed Ex that will be extremely difficult to undo but possible I hope Concur on distributed logistics and support, the PLA is just begging us to try a Desert Storm like op plan to respond to a Taiwan aggression, MOB based and the assumption of sanctuary there So what or who is bill payer? 130s? If Brazil is cozying up to China, then a license built An-178 is my suggestion
  14. It's called YouTube. Since the show was broadcast all over Earth, live streaming is easy. As for the content, I now christen the SoW, Pete "Mr Potato Head" Hesgeth, in honor of the "Groooooomin Standand" As for reception, I'm sure Pete wanted to end with a mike drop, but instead he could hear a pin drop. So it really was like talking to some TV screens.
  15. Lol what comm SQ did you run where we could get 800 ppl on a VTC at once and it actually worked?
  16. Are you suggesting that commanders' calls should all be done digitally? Or that Zoom is the same thing as an in-person presentation?
  17. Oh, I didn't know we had gotten rid of the VTCs. My bad.

  20. I remember a tanker guy telling me he had to refuel in planned tracks and therefore couldn’t move to where I needed him. This isn’t the NAS douchebag, it’s combat. Luckily a guard tanker came in and did the job since AD douchebag wasn’t willing to. Insanity. That all said, most of the tankers were cool.
  21. That's crazy to me. Granted, I've been out the tanker for a decade now...but I was requesting kill boxes all the time or at least sitting in the corner of the track that was closest to my fighters. Only time I couldn't was when I'd have 3-4 different pairs of receivers rather than just be Viper/Dude/Hawg's private refueler for a couple hours.
  22. Those are the tanker dudes I love and respect. For the ones who would not move their location to better support TICs (especially really bad ones) or EPs/low fuel states, fuck you for being a gigantic pussy. For the young guys out there - do the right thing, deal with the man later.
  23. Two. Very disappointed there weren't two lines - one for those returning to their jobs and one for those retiring. However, good speech by Hegseth, certainly not sugar-coated political correctness. Also, despite the non-culling of the herd, still like the idea of various minor princes(ess') being returned to the mother ship and seeing that they are not special; that there's actually a bunch of them. And that here are the direct, to your face, expectations. Hope the coming fat and PT tests start taking out the hippos. added: Air Force Downgrading USAFE Commander Job to 3 Stars Not a firing but certainly a loss of bloat.
  24. Just watched an interesting analysis by CappyArmy of current logistics in Ukraine that's rather thought provoking. The way the Russians have devolved their logistics into inefficient yet effective small packages is the concept of "too ubiquitous to crush". Obviously not the ideal we should go for, but it brings up a concept the USAF needs to think about. I could see the benefit of a high number of small tankers (and airlifters) that are collocated with (or near) users all over the Pacific that denies China the ability to target them all, compared to putting all our assets in to the Hickam/Guam/Okinawa basket that can are easily targeted and difficult to defend. I think the airlifters are already prepping for that. I don't feel the the refuelers doing the same. When I taught at the AOC school, I was always stymied by the tanker mentality that focused almost completely on efficiency instead of effectiveness. In Iraq and Afgh, you'd be labeled as a rogue tanker pilot if you relocated your orbit to sit over or near the TIC to facilitate the fight. I know because I've spoken with enough of them. One was even threatened with paperwork for "disobeying orders" afterwards...he was literally the airborne standby tanker with no scheduled receivers...mind blowing. Our current air planners grew up with that rigidity and they now need to scrap efficiency and focus on effectiveness. 400 small tankers just might fit that bill. Not a guaranteed solution, but worth a full analysis. Unfortunately big blue's air planners have often proven far too inflexible and far to ready to scrap possible solutions because they aren't "efficient". More importantly, the USAF needs to produce tanker pilots that are willing and empowered to think outside of the box...but that's a discussion for another thread.
  25. Just adding for more material to discuss on smaller tankers / transports Bae 146 tanker https://www.flightglobal.com/uk-says-no-thanks-to-bae-146-tanker/111331.article Not selected but was interesting IMHO, the Bae 146 STA, side loading transport aircraft. https://www.key.aero/article/why-bae-146-side-loading-tactical-airlifter-failed
  26. No, like all the other “never trumpers” he’ll take extra Tylenol, even if it shuts down his liver, just to prove he hates orange man.
  27. PM me, my AME in FWB is good. But I know who the reviews are about, and they’re accurate.
