I really like the ACC letting the audience listen in on their video replay reviews. All leagues should do it. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

That wasn’t ideal. I was surprised at our defenses inability to stop Virginia’s offense. I’m not going to blame officiating, although it did seem pretty lopsided… Seven days to turn it around and hopefully upset Miami. Doesn’t seem very likely at this point but we’ll see. Let’s see if USC can beat Illinois here in 1.5 hrs.

A school can’t get more elitist douchey than UVA.
-
ESPN just did a segment on the aftermath that I missed last night. The students actually ran over the FSU receiver that was laying on the ground...and they kept coming. They had to do a check to make sure he was able to get out. Should be a huge fine to UVA.

With cameras and keyboard warriors these days, the eventual pairing of identities to asshole behavior, and the consequences many receive from such, you would think that people would behave better. I guess more lessons are needed.

Indeed....Castellanos was posting on social Media about Miami...looked right past UVA. Was a great game to watch, huge fine for UVA for the field storming...I normally like to see the students celebrate but if you watched the c lose up several ran out and bumped in to Norvell and many of the FSU players, one even went up to an FSU players and tried to take a selfie, another got in Castellanos' face while flipping him off...that's unsat.

Commanders are dropping like flies this year

Not just for culling the herd of powerful meddling shoe clerks and their acolytes but it is the purge of deep staters. There are good ones out there but it’s time to just flush their ranks -

Re the generals: I LOVE IT! From 2004 on, they capriciously cut lower ranking personnel with wild abandon. Now that the O-7+ cabal is possibly on the chopping block they’re not liking it one bit. Too bad they can’t RIF the guys responsible for the RIFs, but whatevs: I’ll relish the cull. -

Absolutely right. Our fates are decided already. Over the next few weeks, things are just being finalized, routed, approved, and eventually disseminated. Literally will know within the next 50 ish days!

Why would you bother trying to hit a moving target? Just hit them on the taxi if you're going after airliners. Would take a small bit of explosive added to drone.

Definitely a lot of truths in here. As a non-rated cyber guy, I can attest that it's common to have Lts in leadership roles (OIC and even Flt/CC) in massive squadrons. The Flight I was Flt/CC for had 120+ peeps to lead/manage and when I swapped to DO we had a Lt take it over. The point being, there is definitely an opportunity to show leadership at any rank, and non-rated AFSCs tend to have fewer officers in general, therefore giving more leadership opportunities. I do think there is some additional factors to consider when it comes to the diversifying of AFSCs. I'm sure they factor in how many people they are taking from each career field and may have additional restrictions beyond the overall number of pilot slots for the year. Career Field Management is tricky, and there's for sure a lot of behind-the-scenes work we don't see. Anyway, our fates have been decided! Who's going to go to the rumor mill to find out how many slots they had this year?

Remember the bicycle test? That was the air force I joined. I really never thought I would've seen organized PT and a test with actual running. 2 miles is kinda overkill for 99% of the air force. -
Next 9/11: drone swarms targeting airliners, first or second climb segments, most vulnerable. Simultaneous execution across a dozen or more airports before NAS can react and shut down. Clancy predicted 9/11 methodology seven years prior.

The Airmen and NCO page is melting down over the new test. So glad I am retired. -
I don't think it can be a mylar balloon because ultimately it does interact with whatever comes from the top left of the screen, and afterwards it fluctuates exactly like a liquid. What this footage looks like to me is a camera that isn't being used, as the drone flies, so it's just scanning across the sea. Then whatever contamination in the lens starts bouncing around in there, which the sensor operator plays around with, and it makes a somewhat cool looking video. And somehow someone with a great sense of humor took that video and leaked it claiming that it was a UFO. But I say again, absolutely nothing about that video looks like a hellfire missile hitting anything.

On an unrelated topic, the Danish PM is pretty hot!

Wouldn't be the 1st time a bouquet of golden mylar presented as a threat. One day on final, had to roll right at 300' to dodge a bunch heading towards the #1.

I wondered about this as well. This is most likely a Mylar balloon, but did it show up as some sort of credible threat due to the reflective surface? You would think the speed would be a giveaway since it could only “fly” as fast as the winds could push it but then again drones could fly quite slow so maybe a case of better safe than sorry.
-
I have been watching this development over the last few days with many European News outlets calling these drones over airports “attacks” since they are disrupting critical airspace. It’s hard to judge the size but they appear to be much larger than the typical quadcopter size of hobby drones! https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c4g96gvql99o.amp

This same exact situation just happened to me at WP. I’m in the same shoes as you. Got picked by a C17 reserve unit and am worried this will end it all. The flight doc said he would submit a waiver request but the optometrist was not so hopeful. What was the outcome of your situation? Did you get a waiver? Did you get a second opinion from a private optometrist? Thanks!
