  2. Locking gas cap is critical when you're north of the line on the hot/crazy scale.
  3. All propane? Natgas?
  4. You'll never beat a dedicated pizza oven, but if you don't have the budget/space for a specific pizza oven, this Ninja-Engineer's-Fever-Dream seems like a pretty good middle ground. I had to dig to find a video I didn't hate, and failed, but I settled for a nice lady that I think Biff would kiss softly on the forehead before sneaking out of her apartment wearing a stolen "going out" thong from her hamper: Another: I don't have much pizza experience, but I'll try to make a pie once I get the stone in the mail and report back.
  5. Next to my grill in the pic is my Ooni pizza oven. Love it, also great to fast sear steaks.
  6. In Alaska there’s a decent chance that pilot doesn’t have a license.
  7. If pizzas are a consideration, it is worth getting a specific pizza oven. Pizzas are best cooked around 900 degrees, which is far hotter than most grills will be able to stay when opening and closing constantly. I got the propane Solo Pi, doesn't take up much room and cooks a pizza in about 2 min. Not cheap, but if your family likes home made pizza, its a game changer.
  8. Last year when I was going to apply. My commander at the time said there’s rumblings that if you’re going to apply for UPT through the cross flow board that FY25 and FY26 are the years you want to apply to. So I’m assuming a good number of slots.
  9. I can't figure out why my insurance premiums keep going up.
  10. Which means it's going to be a great time. Just don't make it a long time.

  12. Forget the grills.....any IPAs in that mini-fridge??
  13. Has anyone heard any estimates or rumors about the number of slots for this year? I’ve heard from coworkers that USAFA Class of ‘26 will get about 110 more pilot slots than last year, and was reading an FY26 budget projection document the other day that called for an additional ~115 slots at UPT in FY26. I know they never seem to want to send unfilled USAFA slots to AFROTC to fill, so I’m curious if this could mean another high selection year for this board, especially if USAFA doesn’t fill all their slots.
  14. Holy smokes, I’ve never thought of myself as a cheap bastage, but y’all are into some serious grills. I can’t wrap my head around $1,500 to $2,000 for a gas grill even with our recent several years of inflation. Ouch!
  15. I went with the Cal Flame G Series for my outdoor kitchen (highly recommend). Have the Ooni and Blackstone set up as well.

  17. I didn't catch a quote of, "I'm a war hero" in that article, so not quite the counterweight you intend. Got any other draft dodging Presidents spouting that claim? Maybe Bush with his connections to get into the ANG and then do war in the aftermath of 9/11? Maybe his "Mission Complete" stunt was like saying it without saying it? I dunno. You let us know if dumbass gets a pass on this one or not.
  18. Of course, there's Biden's false claims. Just posting for balance, of course: https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/19/politics/fact-check-biden-pennsylvania-campaign-swing

  20. [Movie Guy Voice] He stood tall on the Maginot Line. He lead the attack on Pearl Habor. Later, he fought off waves of Viet Cong during Tet all by himself. He ended Gulf Wars I and II. Donald J Trump, war hero, bone spurs and all. Because if he said it, you know it's true. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/08/20/world/middleeast/trump-war-hero-netanyahu-iran.html

  22. Not really WTF, just Florida being Florida!
  23. I haven't used it enough to give you an honest answer on that. The fan blows into the chamber, so while I do expect some aerosolized grease to hit it, depending on how they designed the air intake it could stay relatively clean. The thing gets hot as fuck. I was originally going to get some sort of infrared grill, but those have gone out of style so all that are left are the extremely expensive Pro units. Since we aren't planning on having this grill for a super long time, I didn't want to spend the money on something I wasn't sure would integrate into the new home build. But cranking this thing up to 600° with that fan is absolutely hot enough for anything I need.
  24. I'm in the market to replace my Weber Genesis II next season. Is the fan easy to clean on that thing? It seems like that would get gummed up with grease pretty quickly.
