  1. Today
  2. Kudos Huggy for taking him. I chatted with him prior. He was really looking forward to going. Thanks from all of us.
  3. Like I said....Take what I said with a huge grain of salt. I am hoping what I heard was right and I hope this government shutdown doesn't delay the results
  4. Any news on estimated total number of slots/what the board was prioritizing this year?
  5. Yeah, I'm sorry!! At SGU, I took Hank Hoffman flying: 205 combat missions in the A-37 and a TPS graduate Nest guy! Still knew and flew the jet really well!
  6. Huge--much better news than what my source had shared. Glad to hear they might've been misinformed!
  7. Good a place as any for this.... Time to cut down on uniform flair? https://cdrsalamander.substack.com/p/overdue-for-de-norkification-of-our
  8. And alienate 2x of your own voting bloc?
  9. Great shot Huggy....ahhhhh the memories but....... Can't believe you left with an empty seat. Good Capt never leaves a "jump seater" behind.
  10. Glad both crews made it. I'd hate to be that safety officer!
  11. Im starting to think at the rate they are dumping super bugs they are trying to extend the production line life.
  12. Yesterday
  13. Score points with the alphabet crowd voting bloc?
  14. Loyalty is everything to him, and he seems to be addicted to trolling. Trump is also hypersensitive to any suggestion of political witch hunts now. Couldn't even make it a year. Pity.
  15. George Santos sentence commutation.. don’t understand the thought process on that one
  16. Incapable of not shooting himself in the foot. Early second term was great. Think he's getting a bit out over his skiis.
  17. We got a good example of "Bad Trump" recently. Really I'd say 90% of his actions towards Canada have been bad, but throwing a tariff on them because you don't like an ad run by a provincial government is particularly stupid. One tragedy of Trump v2 is going to be that we finally have a president who uses tariffs, which are a phenomenal tool, but he's using them like a distracted child, and he's going to end up discrediting them for another few decades.
  18. Thanks a ton for the advice. 90% sure that when I do transfer to a new unit I will need to TX to a new airframe as well. I know guys transition a decent amount so I don’t think it should be too big of a deal.
  19. You are the reason that popcorn is allowed in Shot Val. If this is how you justify how you're not wrong, watching you justify how you're not dead would be even better.
  20. US Navy helicopter and fighter jet crash in separate incidents in the South China Sea Blackhawk and Hornet down within 30 minutes. Possibly bad fuel...
  21. The transfer is “just paperwork.” Your losing unit/AFRC will have to release you to the new unit/guard, transfer your UPT ADSC over, etc. I would tell your SQ/CC you are starting to look into this plan due to the hardship on the family and its long term unsustainability. Any good human should understand and be supportive. Hopefully he’ll also be willing to help you with the search (e.g. reach out to other CCs in your local region to vouch for you, ask for transfer help, etc.)
  22. How is the transfer process from reserve to guard? Also is it wise to talk to my SQ/CC first before talking to other units or what advice do you have when it comes to making the actual switch?
  23. Personally I’d find a unit closer to where you live, and consider changing base to ORD. Get both jobs within the “local” region - your family QOL will be much better. Look at the guard too, don’t just limit it to reserves.
  24. My son was texting me non-stop "Mario will not stop running up the middle!" I get his dedication the run game and it paid off versus Stanford with 42 unanswered points but against better teams it keeps the game to close early and lets momentum and chance dictate the outcome. I think Pitt is a trap game for us. Break Break - Brian Kelly out at LSU. He will get $800K a month as part of his $57M payout. And of course Kiffin is in the driver's seat.
  25. No, currently don’t live in base for either. My airline base is MCO and then I can drive to my reserve unit from there. I commute down and then do both. I’m looking into switching my reserve unit to be back up north and be only a 1-2hr drive from my house. As for the airlines I could switch my airline base to ORD or somewhere a lot closer as well or continue the commute to MCO if it’s easy. I also am thinking about the reserve UPT IP gig if I could swing that since it sounds pretty flexible. Either way I would like to start spending more time at home with my family and flying for the airline more while still doing my Air Force duty.
