Squadron Bar

Off-topic discussion. Keep it civil, don't abuse this forum.

Forum Rules

1 – Keep it civil

If you don't have anything constructive to say, keep your mouth shut. Opinions are great, constructive criticism is encouraged, third grade retorts are right out. Threads that devolve into pissing contents will be locked. If your post starts to drag a thread in that direction, it will be removed.  If you continue to instigate, you may face suspension of your posting abilities.

2 - Listen before you speak

A wise man once said, "You have two ears and one mouth, so you ought to listen twice as much as you talk."

Fighter squadrons have a rule that you can’t speak until you’ve had been there a year, and there's some wisdom to this; don't just show up here spouting your wisdom to dudes who are not only veterans to this board, but veterans to the Air Force.  Hang out a while, read the posts, and be a fly on the wall. You'll see who's legit and who is generally clueless. This will prevent you from a severe case in foot-in-mouth-itis when you try to tell a combat proven pilot that he knows nothing while you sit at home waiting to see if your UPT package has been approved.

3 – UTFSF

Before you ask a dumb question, make sure it hasn’t been asked and answered – use the search function at the top right of each page.

4 - If it's been talked about before, keep it in the same thread.

After you follow Rule 3 but don't find exactly what you're looking for, revive one of the old threads instead of starting a brand new one. In other words, if you're trying to find information on housing at Del Rio and you find lots of old posts with Del Rio info, but nothing specifically answers your question - post your question at the end of one of those threads. This makes it easier for future searches so that 690 threads don't pop up when they try to search for "Del Rio Housing"

5 - Give it a subject line that makes sense

This seems anal, but there are several reasons. (1) If you have a nebulous subject like "Serious question" you're potentially not going to get answers from as many people as if your subject line was "Where to find Jeremiah Weed?" (2) It makes it easier for serious searches; the poor sap who types "SERE" into the search function will have a much easier time with specific subjects like "What do I bring to SERE?" vice just "SERE".

6 – No unpaid advertisements

Unpaid advertisements and promotion of outside websites are not allowed.  Individual items are allowed to be sold in the “Market Place” forum within in accordance with the rules of that forum.  For questions on paid advertising on this board, use the “Contact Us” link at the bottom of each page.

  11. Two guys died (one translator and a British Commando), I wonder if he will wrap himself in the 1st amendment and publish photos of the guys who died so that he could live? Story here. KABUL – British commandos freed a New York Times reporter early Wednesday from Taliban captives who kidnapped him over the weekend in northern Afghanistan, but one of the commandos and a Times translator were killed in the rescue, officials said. Reporter Stephen Farrell was taken hostage along with his translator in the northern province of Kunduz on Saturday. German commanders had ordered U.S. jets to drop bombs on two hijacked fuel tankers, causing a number of civilian casualties…

But it is also about something much more personal to Rather: his legacy. It is…

So, I stumbled across this site: Once upon a win today, and found a few things I remembered. This was inspired by my search for a photo of the Castle Greyskull for another topic on here. This one, in particular cracked me up both when I was a kid, and now. Okay, maybe I'm a huge nerd, and maybe this is a totally lame topic, but I think we have "Boobs" covered. (Or uncovered as the case my be) What do you guys remember from the "Good 'ol days"? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4VNMERVsC4

Recently moved to the South, will be at Keesler and Maxwell through college football season. Do they show Big 10 games down here, on ESPN or ABC? I am a big Ohio St fan, they are usually on ESPN but I don't know if they show them just in the midwest or show those games down here too. If not do local sports bars have those games on? Thanks for the help. Can't wait for the upcoming season!
