Butters
Came across this of a Lufthansa A380 doing a landing at SFO, its long but it shows the complete automation of the landing. http://www.wimp.com/approachlanding/ So, if a guy hand flying the approach is "complete automation, what do you consider "hand flying?" Does that mean the guy is getting out of the seat, climbing out onto the wing and manipulating the flight controls by hand?
Prosuper
Well sitting the jump seat on many 707/135, B-52 landings that looked effortless compared to the stick inputs on approach on a old Boeing. Steve Davies
Got this the other day. Interesting read, although I find myself wondering why anyone would retire as a UAL 747 captain then take another job. Already been posted twice before in this thread, Bergman. LockheedFix
The new approach lights installed at San Francisco International Airport after the Asiana Crash... Those are actually not a bad idea. I wonder if they could get those at Dover. And then install some that say " NOT MCDILL" at that Peter O. Knight place.
