Current and former KC-10 people: The 2d ARS is putting together a group buy of KC-10 Breitling Aerospace watches. Peggy Ulmer is coordinating everything. She does not have a BODN account, so please contact her via KC10Spouse at gmail. There are currently 13 confirmed people in the group and we need at least 12 more to make the order. The deadline to order is 15 Jun. This should have the watches arriving in time for Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Festivus. The price is $2757 (40% off retail) and the payment is due in full prior to the order. If you wish to have the watch shipped to you, it will cost a bit more. Please contact Peggy for all details.

Which airframes have remote tours and where are they located? Do heavy drivers have remote tours?

In case you've made it to this board, you find a growing number of military docs frustrated by interruptions in training, long deployments, in between dealing with the machine and all its paperwork/PME/AAD (this is not a typo, BTZ LT Col requires an AAD not your MD) and nurse commanders who scream and yell and throw clip boards. I invite you to peruse: https://forums.studentdoctor.net/forumdisplay.php?f=72

I am just curious with all the pilots. What is one of the main reason you think plane crashes happen? Is it the plane, pilot, both, ATC what? My main area of interest is proper flight instruction and safety in flying. I became concerned in this area after being a flight attendant and having a very scary flight experience. I would love some feed back! Thanks!

Say there's a C-146 at drop night. What should one expect from that life? Is it under-discussed because of how cool and secret the missions are, or because it's not exciting enough to talk about? I've had a friend tell me it's the ugly step child of AFSOC.

Does anyone know where I can find a comprehensive unit of all Air Refueling Squadrons with contact info (preferably DOS, OSF/OSS, or the DO)? Any help would be much appreciated.

Anyone have a time frame? I flew with the upcoming Wing King (currently the Vice at Kadena) and he said this was in the works. https://www.stripes.com/news/europe/raf-mildenhall-to-close-amid-other-europe-consolidations-1.322825

hello, i have a few stupid questions. i'm a little ignorant...so bear with me please. 1)are warant's treated the same way as commisioned guys. for example do you salute a warrant? 2) are warrant's ever given a ground tour like in the marines, navy, and air farce. 3) i was told that most guys wanna fly the blackhawk as a preferred airframe, and that the apache's are usually the least desired airframe. is this true? 4) and lastly, don't think i'm just after the image or anything, i'm simply curious. do army aviators get the leather jacket's and all the bell's and whistle's that you would see a naval aviator get. thank you cheers

Random question/probably not uncommon situation I just got picked up for OTS to be a pilot (hooray!) and my soon-to-be-wife is leaving for OTS to be a pilot in a couple of months as well. We’re both Prior-Es. We’re very optimistic we can both get the same base for UPT, so that’s not the issue, and even if it were, not the end of the world. More importantly, in all of yours guys’ experience, how does Join Spouse work for two pilots starting out? She’ll be ahead of me in the pipeline about 6 months. We’re *hoping* she gets an aircraft and then I can just get that same one at drop night 6 months later, but I’ve been in the Air Force far too long to get excited abo…

Senior Air Force officer loses job over 'inappropriate' emails Sacked for emails...that must suck. Anybody at Randolph have more info? I was in Venom's squadron 10 years ago, so I'm curious as to what happened. I'll take a PM if you don't think it's appropriate to post here.

I'm sitting hear on Christmas morning continuing with the "What do I do with my life" discussion. Lately I have had alot of heartburn with the Air Force and I can't figure out how to make my remaing 5 years of service commitment work for me. For instance, by no means am I the first person to complain about SOS and a masters degree. I have completely swallowed the blue pill and conceded to the fact that I have to do SOS in correspondence in order to be competitive to attend in residence. But what I'll do now is make sure that I do it only on the Air Force time. If that means that I spend 2 hours in front of my computer instead of putting up briefing boards, reviewing …

After using the search function, I didn't find much, or any really, information about anyone talking about using their domestic cell phones overseas while TDY, vacation etc. Aside from a straight up world wide plan, does anyone use the unlocked phone and international SIM combo while flying over seas for the calls or SMS home? Any gouge and advice would be welcome.

'We're going to lose fast': U.S. Air Force held a war game that started with a Chinese biological attack Meanwhile, a leading Chinese think tank recently described tensions in U.S.-China relations as the worst since the Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989, and it advised Communist Party leaders to prepare for war with the United States.

https://www.military.com/daily-news/2013/11/05/hagel-says-cuts-to-pay-and-benefits-are-needed.html Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel warned Tuesday that troops and their families will be asked to sacrifice on pay and benefits to preserve readiness in an era of tighter budgets. Hagel listed politically-charged changes to compensation and personnel policy as one of his top six priorities in reforming the military following the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan as the department gears up to meet new challenges. "This may be the most difficult" to achieve among his six priorities, Hagel said of proposals to trim pay increases, overhaul TRICARE and review retirement benefit…
