I can't find any information on this and my local TMO people haven't been of any help. Basically, the moving company destroyed quite a few things during my last move. They had an inspection company come out to do a claim inspection, then the moving company sent me an offer for the damages on DPS. I called the inspection company and asked for a copy of the results, but they said the inspection is confidential between the moving company and them. I then contacted the moving company and everyone I have talked to so far say that they need someone else's permission to send the report and that person isn't around. Can anyone explain to me our future tax liability under the new health care law? I keep hearing talk of huge tax liabilities because "Cadillac" health care plans would be considered income. I imagine the health care we get as military personnel and retirees is considered pretty "Cadillac-esque." Are we exempt as military personnel? Does anyone on the planet understand this stuff? And yes, I know Cadillac automobiles are junk. I didn't choose the expression.

I've considered what I could do personally in the event this happens and have come up with a few palatable options but I've started to consider trying to roll a fair amount of liquid savings in dollars to a foreign currency in the event the worst happens. Besides this and maybe putting it into my mortgage, buying gold/silver, or purchasing property; I can't think of any other way to protect this part of my investments. Has anyone else come up with any ideas if they (take your pick on whom to blame) trigger a default?

I are not computer smart, so I thought I'd see if anyone else is having the same issue. Currently deployed to a sandy location, so I'm a frequent user of VPN to gain access to Netflix, Pandora, and other blocked websites. About a week ago, Pandora stopped working, giving me the restricted/"no worky in your country" memo. Netflix still works fine (doesn't when I turn the VPN off) and so do the other webpages, so the issue doesn't seem to be the VPN (I use hotspot shield). Anyone else having problems Pandora (or not having problems with Pandora), or did Pandora start blocking known VPN IP addresses?

My brother and I are going out there for the Vikes game. We'll be out there for a few days so we'll be looking for stuff to do. We don't like the normal touristy crap, unless there are some must sees. Anybody have any ideas for cool stuff to do/check out?

I'm deploying in a few months for the first time in about 3 years. It's a non-flying gig. For some background, I'm the "gun guy." I have my own preferences on holsters that I've come to by trial and error. My last rote had me flying, wearing a bag, and a shoulder holster was the best option, for me. Now, we're all in OCP's, So a belt holster seems an easier and better option. I haven't been able to find an OI or AFI that dictates what kind of holster may be used for an M9 at the big OEF bases. Has anyone watched this idiotic show? The name pretty much lays out what the show is all about. The episode I'm watching right now is showing a guy "repossessing" a Gulfstream II and they are implying that the guy is sneaking it out of the airport without airport security (or presumably the FAA or anyone else) knowing. They are taking off out of a NTA at night in this Gulfstream right into IMC. So are they saying they took off into IMC without filing an IFR flight plan? Doubtful.

I LOVE BaseOps.net, but even the squadron bar thread requires some semblance and order. I understand that most are still active and will have apprehensions about airing their own laundry, and that you can delete your posts and take 'em back. There're things that don't fit GD or SB categories that need some of our input and that require a man/flyer's opinion. The intent is to keep things between the seriousness of GD (how we do our job) and SB (boobies, beer, and more boobies), probably the information that is most relevant and useful, maybe with a touch of the honesty the we/I put into how tasty a beer or scotch is.
