Listen Brochacho, you used Burke as an obvious example of the Trump admin for a) nominating Homan, who was of such questionable ethics that he would accept a bribe, and b) that there is an implied conspiracy by Trump, then directing the FBI to drop the charges...or else your "That makes perfect sense" comment is wildly misleading. You could also admit you didn't read the article, or chose to ignore the comment that there was no bribery as a fact of law, or admit that its a little sus that the Biden admin would choose to set-up a honey-trap (i.e. entrapment) investigation into the leading contender for the border security role...something he claimed he was unable to do without more laws from Congress, and was shown to be wrong about by Homan and Trump. The only reason it's being reported on is because Democrats in Congress are pushing it...just like the Ukraine perfect phone call impeachment, or the novel use of fraud statutes, or creative estimations of real estate valuation as the basis of a loan in which everyone made money, and there was no victim. I never said I wouldn't call out Homan guilty...but there was no initial suspicion to start an investigation, the Democrats have a history of chasing naked, raw political power since Obama was in office, and the weaponization of government (FBI, DOJ, CIA, IRS, etc) against Republicans and independents that get in their way. I'll close the same way I closed last time, but in a bigger font, and emphasized, since you missed it last time: Excuse me if I'd like to see a bit more before I get concerned.

I brought up a comparison in the world of bribery, Brony. Burke gets a 6er in the Fed pen, probably not as friendly as Madam Maxwell's digs, and Trump buddy Homan plays on. You could have said something like, "yeah, that's shady, taking a paper sack of cash," but no, went straight to attacking the reporting, which was a story because the DOJ made it news by dropping the case. Why bud? Aren't we allowed to have decent people running govt offices these days? This is my reason for posting it here, no matter what letter is behind their name. As for drying up, maybe tomorrow. Ds in Congress are requesting the FBI release the bribe engagement tapes. Wanna bet that doesn't happen?

I'll be "incommunicado" for the rest of the week, so posting today...

Hold up Broseph... Burke's a distractor....you only brought up Homan, so that's what we're discussing. There's another thread about commander's getting fired if you want to discuss him there. Also, I never defended Homan...just the sloppy sourcing, and the fact is in the article you posted that elements of the crime weren't met. Outgoing Democrat admins have twice now tried to investigate an incoming Trump appointee...third time is a trend. It's Tuesday now and this issue has dried up in the media, so there's nothing there...good luck hoping this time it sticks.

We'll know in about 11 days. I want to get past this potential trap game at Virginia on a Friday night 1st. I wish we had two weeks to prepare for Miami. Strong possibility that Gameday shows up to Tallahassee.
-
And just like a Jerry Springer episode, I 100% expected someone here to fight to defend Homan. Ret 4 star Burke gets 6 years for bribery (see commanders dropping like flies), yet Homan walks out of a restaurant with a paper sack holding 50K in cash and gets to keep his job, etc. S/ That makes perfect sense. /S Let me ask a buddy that does consulting. Stand by....... Yep, he said that if a potential client shows up with a sack of cash, as ADM Akbar says, "Its a trap!" While Homan gets off with a technicality (more like cronyism), he was going to be in a high govt position when he took the bribe and thus his influence was bought. Yo, can we get some chemo up in here? Got some Homan syndrome growing.

Not sure if you saw the interview with Mario on Gameday. He calls it "Rat Poisoning." As Miami starts to do better and get press he fears it will leak into the locker room and poison the desire to get better and work. They have a long ways to go and yes they stumbled in the middle of the game. I give great credit to UF's defense which had only allowed two TDs from all previous opponents. Also, that single high safety screwed with Beck's progressions and reads...I guarantee that is a focus the next two weeks. Two things impressed me: 1. They were able to adjust and respond. 2. The offensive line is superb. Mario is an old school lineman who is dedicated to the run and establishing control. He will continue to lean on opponents and grind them down. How will FSU respond?

Could it possibly be that Disney executives are spineless pussies who cave to pressure from all sides? Bill Maher had a great commentary on that this past weekend, one consolation for Jimmy that he said was “well, at least you won’t have to pretend to like Disneyland anymore!”

Wait…I thought the left said that Trump is who caused Kimmel off the air because Trump is against free speech? So did Trump change his mind, or…?
-
Too bad. Though Disney has a long track record of losing billions over stupid decision making. Guess they just want to keep losing. No sweat off my back.
-
Not surprised kimmel is back, you know, the facists running the country that are taking plays out of the nazi playbook to quash such brave truth tellers.
-
kimmel is a fool and what he said in the moment was entirely inappropriate. it's fine that he's back on air. i wasn't a fan of what the FCC guy said...government has NO place censoring speech. Just because the Biden Admin massively censored free speech during COVID doesn't make it right. kimmel's ratings are in the trash...dude averages 160,000 views per night. he's shouting into the wind and no one cares.

While there was a decent chunk of no kidding “our vehicles” left behind when we un-assed Kabul, the majority of the numbers you see are what we outfitted the: ANA, ANP, ANSOF, etc over the two decades we were there.

In other not so news. This was over 20 years ago on SNL so he got off with an apology.

Rumor has it the Taliban want a billion a year and the US offered $300 million a year. Didn’t realize we left so much equipment during the withdrawal.

No offense, but even Ms. Cleo knew you were going to post something about this. Key quote in case you didn't read the whole thing "...because [Homan] had not held an official government position at the time of the meeting with undercover agents..." It's difficult to get bribed if you have no governmental authority, one of the key elements of the crime. Also has anonymous sourcing, so excuse me if I'd like to see a bit more before I get concerned.

So, is another round of chemo needed to get rid of the new cancers? How much chemo can the body take before it kills the patient? Might as well add cancer Homan to the list of diseases for what "looked" like taking a bribe. I wonder if he gave the FBI their money back. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/20/us/politics/tom-homan-fbi-trump.html?unlocked_article_code=1.nk8.2w-g.f0Gsyz2LIIJv&smid=url-share

Well said. It's also why the democrats haven't found purchase with their various "outrages" as they search for leverage to sink the Trump behemoth: they've miscalculated how deeply pissed people are about the system they created. Dems aren't going to find a Trump tweet that turns his base against him, because we don't care about him. He's a change agent. And frankly I want more radical than I'm getting.
