The PSDM references DAFMAN36-2100 which stipulates "4.1.3.4.2. Officers meeting the following criteria are exempt from involuntary crossflow consideration and ineligible to apply for voluntary crossflow consideration. Only waivers for Total Active Federal Military Service are considered. Waiver authority for Total Active Federal Military Service is AFPC/DPML" It expands further in 4.1.3.4.2.16 that there is a 2-year period so a ETP may be needed for your case. I would reach out to the MPF on base or your SQ/GP/WG execs.

Not force structure per se but more composition… https://www.defensenews.com/air/2025/06/27/us-air-force-to-retire-all-a-10s-cancel-e-7-under-2026-spending-plan/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=fb_dfn Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Definitely tell them if you have not already!!! We're nearing crunch time and it would suck if they didn't know. To be honest I'm surprised your DCO/GP/WG isn't already asking for things via TMT. Our DCO made the tasker the day the PSCM dropped and set the first suspense for 30 June

Well sucks for this guy, for the first time in probably ever, none of the combatant commanders will be Army; CJCS is still Air Force, the Army continues to become less relevant than Air and Naval Forces especially looking at the IPC AOR. Heck, even in CENTCOM, Army’s main mission is protection, C-sUAS, and missile defense; most ops and strikes are accomplished from the carrier or the Air Force. Anyone who’s ever worked in a joint environment knows how frustrating and annoying the Army can be and I’m glad that’s starting to change.

It would appear the X-32 is still out there spreading her DNA about.

Yeah, it was not a shock that he was retired Army, methinks he believes divide and conquer, more smaller branches mean easier pickings for the… Army. We need reform but not disestablishment. I hope there is a retort in the works.

He lost me at the first paragraph. While the Air Force has had its boondoggles, the leaps in technology have been much greater. What is the last leap in technology that the Army has funded and been fielded? The U.S. Air Force, once at the technological vanguard, has become burdened by decades of bureaucratic growth and failed weapons procurement. It is time for our leaders to make radical change. The Air Force must be broken up to meet the demands of 21st-century warfare.

The land components just lost two wars and are mainly responsible for our Euro-centric defense posture that allows the Europeans to freeload whilst we go broke defending them. Not interested in a damned word the Army has to say...

Who let the retired Army guy write something about the air force? lol For such an experienced and supposedly smart guy, that article is crap. Wants to consolidate different areas of effort, but only from the air force and no other services. Maybe he should just write about how much the Army continues to waste in cancelled programs. Maybe we should take the DFAC away from the Army and consolidate into a singular ‘Food command’ or better yet privatize it. https://www.military.com/daily-news/2025/06/25/upcharging-food-selling-booze-armys-plan-privatize-dining.html?amp Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Safety is a Commander's program. Commanders ordered and approved the changes, what do you think?

Just curious but in all these machinations on UPT NEXT, FUPT, etc… has the Air Force Safety Center been asked or done an analysis on the effectiveness/impact of curtailing/changing pilot training? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My dog is a lab mix, for a reason. Easiest option, IMHO, is to get a vet or a piece of paper that says your dog is a mix breed. Not sure how the emotional support animal strategy would play out. Good luck. Very sweet looking pup!

PC-21 would be great I could post again this plane or that one, this many hours in this one then this one but really it’s all about getting the institution of the AF to admit that the effort to privatize too much of UPT, to cut from UPT and to radically change UPT is the problem. Not the fact and inherent costs of owning training aircraft(s) at dedicated training bases. I don’t know how you get a champion(s) with equivalent authority to those who wish to cut everything but the upcoming T-7 but if ever a training mafia needs to be formed ala the fighter mafia it is now. @nunya I just know some guys who have beat my numbers decisively, but I’m not interested in going down that road personally. To do so, I think you have to be really into it, have a deep understanding, and some luck. I’m definitely 1/3 at best.

Eh, unlikely, at least in large caps. I tried the "active" route the first half of the year. The steep V recovery kicked my ass. I'll stay in my indexing lane from now on.
