2027 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
Good stuff. Curious if it’s fixed and rotary for that 60.

The Iran thread
I know this will generate a lot of spirited debate but I'm sure this will really push the funding and development of CCAs. I'll leave it to the smarter people on BO (within classified boundaries) to chime in on whether a CCA is anywhere near technologically feasible to take over for some or all of the F-15s mission sets. War has never been a safe or cheap endeavor but anything that lowers that cost I'm all for.

New F-16G and C-17 for AF?
As an F-16 Flight Manual Manager for Lockheed, I approve of this. In a dream world, I would like to see an F-16G Block 80 with the Block 60 GE-132 engine.

New F-16G and C-17 for AF?
Many years ago I worked in the acquisition/test world for a staff job…trust me when I say the vast majority of the time there is nothing “quick” about that horrible process.

New F-16G and C-17 for AF?
The Russians did not "benefit" from our acquisitions process.
-
New F-16G and C-17 for AF?
I thought so too so it would be interesting to see how they would accomplish this. It is worth pointing out that the Russians made virtual copies of the B-29 (Tu-4) without the aid of computers, 3D scanning, modern metrology instruments, maintenance and technical manuals, original jigs, etc. so I would think it’s not impossible to reopen a line to build the C-17.

New F-16G and C-17 for AF?
Regarding the C-17, undoubtably the tools and fixtures were probably scrapped!

New F-16G and C-17 for AF?
Lockheed is proposing new F-16G similar to what Boeing did with the F-15EX for quick acquisition: https://aviationweek.com/defense/aircraft-propulsion/lockheed-pitches-advanced-f-16g-us-air-force Also there has been some talk of reopening the C-17 line. Between the constant deployments, tactical training requirements, and ordinary airlift operations, either a SLEP or new production of the C-17 is probably in the near future pending the glacial pace of acquiring a future airlift capability.

Viper Down South of KTVC
Congrats @GrndPndr you got it first. Looks like he got out okay. Bonus points for making us look up an obscure airfield identifier in the title. Traverse City, MI for everyone else.

2027 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
Nuggets up. Just finished RPP. The UFT rep told us there are only 60 pilot slots this year. He said that number might change, but as of right now, 60 is what Big Blue gave him

Viper Down South of KTVC
Why would you think nobody cares? I bet plenty of people on here care about fellow pilots, whether they personally know them or not. I certainly do.

Viper Down South of KTVC
It happened. It was a bird. It was not the same bird from the glider video in another thread. Judging from the reaction here, nobody cares. And maybe that's where BO is at this stage?

Flying Videos Thread Part 2!
Correct. I thought it was slightly funny

EA-18 down East of Mt. Rainier
I'd wondered the same, as I wasn't ready to sign on for a 36 minute podcast / video / whatever. Went wading into the YouTube comments, and I assume this about covers it........
