  1. Past hour
  2. I almost pissed myself from laughter. Edit: Four-eyed Edo boy would make an outstanding 11H!
  3. Do you have our pic? My most exciting part of the week was the 3-engine Fifi landing on Saturday. Fortunately it is minor and she'll be back on the road this week.
  4. Why spend $$$ on the Game Bird when Van's RV-4's are much less expensive:
  5. Also known as F***ed Up Pilot Training
  6. The fact that they're calling it "F"UPT without even a hint of irony tells you everything you need to know.
  7. Today
  8. @Biff_Talso goes by “Four-Eyed Edo Boy”…who knew.
  9. I've seen some wild things at European airshows. Romania specifically was the most recent. I've never seen so many extended turn circles go straight through the crowd. The one that surprised me the most was Solo Turk. I've known that team to be highly professional, but the amount of opportunities for the show I saw to go horrifically wrong made me question that reputation...not to mention the number of close calls with the other local demos that should never have happened with a proper air boss. Of course to the crowd 'it's all part of the show' as I just shook my head and kept my family moving away from show center.
  10. FST is voluntary and refusing has no automatic repercussions. Cop can still arrest you for DUI with probable cause. You can then take the station breathalyzer or blood test. Refusing either is implied consent violation and 180 day suspension appealable after 15 days.

I have had good luck with JM Custom Kydex for all my appendix needs.
  13. I was thinking the same thing. Auto license suspension for 90 days in Tx with a refusal, but you can appeal within 15 days. Does saying I would rather have a blood test count as refusal to the officer who stopped you?
  14. My guess is the pilot was either very new to the demo world or possibly untrained and just a wild card. It really looks like something he was just making up on the fly, which is obviously a recipe for disaster. I will say the video with him going away from the camera looks a lot more ugly than the one with the camera closest to the recovery. But he’s definitely a lucky fellow. Too bad it’s not one of those self critiquing mistakes where you scare yourself, but no one else sees it. I imagine he’s got some explaining to do.
  15. @SocialD There may be something there - is asking for a different version/method of the test refusal? Seems logical that it’s not.
  16. Bitchin' Betty's voice probably went up a few octaves on that one.
  17. That looked pretty sketchy! I wonder if he had a brown out in the cockpit?
  18. "Some analysts suggest the pilot may have been avoiding birds that crossed the flight path, which could explain the sudden maneuver..." 🙃🙃 https://www.twz.com/air/spanish-f-a-18-hornet-seen-nearly-crashing-into-surf-during-beach-airshow Considering this Spanish Eurofighter incident last month, it's entirely possible!
  19. Off current topic, but looking for holster recommendation for everyday appendix carry. S&W MP shield, 10/13 rnd mag

They've tried the 'upgrade' process already. Anything short of a full buyback won't pass muster with general public. Anything they do will open them to further lawsuits. Unless there is some new testing that completely removes responsibility from the gun itself, it's not going to be pretty.
  21. This. One of our pilots was a former cop. He said if he's asking to do any tests, it's just adding more evidence fort he case WHEN he arrests you after the tests. In my state, implied consent does not force you to submit to roadside breathalyzer. So you can say you want to go to the hospital for a blood draw or go down to the station to use a real breathalyzer machine. Ball walking on your FAA medical, but I could see how a case could be made that you're not refusing the test, just this test (as roadside units are known to be finicky). I'm not anti-vaccine, just anti-this-vaccine, type of thing lol.

I wonder what everyone with 320s (or variants) sitting at home will have available to them legally - recall with voucher for a Sig purchase, straight refund to method of purchase, etc. Seems like Sig is really setting themselves up for a ton of lawsuits if they don’t offer an avenue for 320 owners to trade/refund those pistols.

Think I'll keep the M17 I purchased 6 mo. ago on the sidelines....after the watching the Wyoming Gun Project video on Youtube, Sig is in a lot of trouble. This is definitely concerning....

I just read in the DAF A3 Daily Ops Update there was another negligent discharge involving a M18, but allegedly this one was due to user error. I will post a link on the BaseOps Intellipedia page on SIPRNET...
  26. That act was signed into law in May and will go into effect on 1 October 2026. There are also multiple lawsuits against the act that will most likely wind up at the SCOTUS.
  27. To be clear, I don't think you should refuse a breathalyzer if you are told to take it. What I said, and what ALPA says, is do not offer to take one to 'prove your innocence'. There is a big difference. Pulled over on the side of the road by the police, absolutely refuse the invitation to a field sobriety test. They are not mandatory in any state that I know of and it is a no-win scenario. I'd be interested to know the stat (probably doesn't exist) on the percentage of people that pass a field sobriety test. Probably low single digits or a percentage that starts with 0. The test is 100% subjective and the person grading the test is already convinced you're drunk or he wouldn't ask. A sober Olympic gymnast could fail it. If a cop tells you to take a breathalyzer, there are many states where refusing to do that also is an automatic suspension of your driver's license, which is probably where the FAA got that idea.
  28. Not yet an official law, but the Kelly Loving Act has passed the Colorado House and would authorize the state to revoke a parent's custody for misgendering their own kids.
