  2. I'm fairly confident AETC doesn't even know the answer to that question...

  4. Baseop’rs, We’ve got 2 positions on the west coast (NorCal and Hawaii) available for a Category E IMA position (non flying) with Civil Air Patrol -USAF. We provide congressionally mandated oversight of Civil Air Patrol and serve as liaisons between CAP and the Air Force. Unique job, must be self-motived. All the regular readiness items (CBTs and fitness test…). Great opportunity to make a difference with motivated CAP cadets. Pros Very flexible, low/no threat of deployment MPA is normally available if you want to be more involved. O-5 promotion possible (I’m proof of that) with PME and above average participation. Limited paid Category B IMA slots for flying or leaderships positions. Cons Can’t buy Tricare or transfer the post 9-11 GI bill. Low/no pay. Expect 10-15 days of MPA for travel outside your local area per year. More MPA is normally available if you want to do more. Rest of your points are for no pay. It’s an IMA job. You’ll have to be able to work independently and get stuff done. Takes about a year to get it figured out. Works better if you live close to a base. Must live in NorCal or Hawaii. Must have 3 years retainability. No UIFs. PM me if you want to talk about it. Thanks for reading this far. -Ed
  5. Quick, everyone short Tesla for a week, then buy it again low. They'll hug it out on Thursday, I hear.
  6. Also, you have to have your class 1 medical to be reimbursed via GI Bill.
  7. Shit talking in non-contact sports is funny to me. Especially when hitting a baseball is already incredibly hard, more than two-thirds of the time people don’t get a hit? Yeah let’s talk some shit. ‘Unwritten rules of baseball exist to protect the fragile egos of pitchers.’ -Jomboy That said, I’m always down to watch America’s pastime, slam some beers and $ hot dogs. 10. It will cover all the CTP if you use an approved school, such as Delta. For the the practical you have to submit a certificate reimbursement, only covered $2500. Don’t remember off the top of my head how many months. Hotels for Sanders are about 15-20 min drive, but right near all the food. Accommodations on site are single wide trailers, they have kitchens with all the basics for cooking. I went in the winter, I was happy I stayed on site, we had some weather roll in and sorties kept getting delayed/pushed for a couple days, but the schedule changes were last minute so it was nice being right be there. (Was no fault of the school, cold temps/LL icing, but each day was forecast to clear up as the day went on, so they were leaning forward trying to get people done) Being in the trailers with some of the other folks I got some good gouge that was passed to them I wouldn’t have otherwise gotten. Trailers have WiFi but no TVs. Couple guys stayed in hotels in my group, they seemed equally as pleased being close to food/walmart and having a gym. Pricing was about the same.
  11. I stayed in the Sanders double wides and thought it was a good option. Cheap, fairly nice, and a 2 minute walk to the FBO. It has a kitchen so you can cook your own food. Also is easy stumbling distance after you get shitfaced at Gordo’s FBO rooftop bar.
  12. This was the only inevitable outcome of King Kong vs Godzilla Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Yes, but it is also blowing up much more spectacular than I thought. The circus continues 🤷🏻‍♂️
  14. Not always an aib. If you have afsas: 6418625, 8888893, 1193078, 5122515, 4628902
  15. 1. Did anyone use their gi bill? If so how much did it pay out and how many months did it use up? 2. Sanders offers onsite accommodation. How is it or book a hotel?
  16. Anyone know if the IPT locations have or will have AD liaison or IP positions?
  17. Non stealthy Tanker Fleet. The Achilles Heel of a moder Air Force. In WW2 the lightning advance to Germany from Normandy stalled due largely the inability to keep the vehicles gassed up. Same reason the German Counter Offensive died in the Ardennes. No fuel to keep the Panzers moving. Even in Ukraine the original invasion stalled because of lack of fuel and the Javelin. If something is carrying a lot of fuel, it's inherently ready to turn into a fireball.
  18. Only if you view ALL of it that way, which I do not. I agree that there are plenty of the types you mention, I just question how many of those Afghanis fighting us were only doing so because we had killed their fathers/grandfathers (not to mention Mothers/sisters/siblings) and/or the fact that we were simply occupiers in their land. I can tell you that if you invaded my land, occupied it for decades, killed some of my family, and/or randomly schwacked a neighbor with a hellfire, I'd vow to kill as many of you as I could as well (wolverine style). I'll concede that we may have stopped some attacks on American soil, then again, maybe not. Did we really gain anything by sticking around A-stan after we got OBL? It truly felt like we just played the world largest game of 'next man up," as we killed the top guys, then their replacements, then their replacement, etc... Probably a discussion for another thread, sorry to hijack the thread.
  19. We should take used compact car tires and cover all of our heavies with them.
  20. The Trump/Elon relationship lasted longer than I thought.
  21. Those going to Oshkosh planeless stop off in Minneapolis, pick up my RV-8 and fly there in style. I'll even throw in a full tank of 100LL with the sale.
  22. Fair. I'll take Sept to Dec 2019 ROE..
  23. Mil2ATP was a great course. It’s not a pay to play program, but the instruction is top-notch and it’ll make you a better pilot. I did the CTP through the Delta training center (highly recommend) and the ATP practical in Goldsboro.

  25. Isn't that just falling into the common attitude that "if we only understood them better and found common ground we would all get along"? There is an extreme faction of a particular middle eastern religion that wants us all dead and wants to take over our country and wipe any record of our existence off the planet. We have no ability to affect that one way or the other. So, the premise that we have anything to do with the actions or goals of those on the other side of that war or the current less obvious war is ludicrous in my opinion. Their end game remains unchanged regardless of what we may or may not do.
