But he always took his CAC out before waking away, which nullified needing to act on any of those other indicators.

Lol.   Always do this.  Never leave it in, even if she’s begging for you to.

Well thank goodness the Russians finally solved that spate of people accidentally falling out of windows. Unfortunately, knowing how morbidity trends unfold in Russia, I suspect this case is just the beginning of a run of sudden, unknown illnesses that unexplainedly affect dissidents & critics of the current regime. Hopefully, Russian medical personnel can identify the causes of these trends soon and address the underlying problem with a coup…..oops, I meant to say ‘the miracle of modern medicine’.

Gonna get weird(er) in Mother Russia as dissent of any kind dies / flees from a tightening spiral
Russia in 5 years if Putin is still alive will be North Korea on steroids while smoking meth, nukes and advanced capes for sale plus oil money and a cult of personality around a human incarnation of Palpatine

Ah yes! The glorious liberation of Pro Freedom Peoples Republic of Belgorod! It is wonderful that heavy weapons for this spontaneous uprising were locally obtained and available at local military surplus stores! Any Ukrainians who might happen to be in the area are there on vacation purely of their own free will. If you really think about it, it makes sense for them to seek independence from Moscow since Belgorod was historically never actually a part of Russia, but ended up there as a result of the post-Soviet breakup. This message happily brought to you by the Little Green Legion.

Oh great -- now I'll have to wear a mask and show my non-dissident card to eat at a restaurant in Moscow.

Putin Poisoning? Belarus dictator Luakashenko in critical condition in Moscow hospital, says opposition figure
"Following a closed-door meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Lukashenko was swiftly transported to a Moscow hospital in critical condition."

Guess Russia will just have to start administering the Belarussian state directly since their leader fell ill.

Guessing Putin will soon say something to the effect: "His last words to me were..."  and then he takes over Belerus.

Creepy thought:  Ukrainian winter wheat planting period starts in July.

Given some of the issues in shipping out their current agricultural output, it won’t matter much.

The Sea Lanes are effectively closed and those agreements to let their stuff pass fell apart.

The countries all sharing land borders won’t let the Uke’s sell into their local markets because of the devaluation it is doing to their crops by ballooning the available supply.

From AP News:

Quote

..the military services used replacement costs rather than the book value of equipment that was pulled from Pentagon stocks and sent to Ukraine.

As a result, the department now has additional money in its coffers to use to support Ukraine

“It’s just going to go back into the pot of money that we have allocated” for the future Pentagon stock drawdowns,” said Singh.

I'd always shake my head at the budget shenanigans in the military and the wider government.  "Different colors of money," "fiscal year end dollars," all that bullshit.  But I get that a lot of those gyrations had some larger purpose, however inefficient.

Given the above quotes though, can't we all agree we're just fucking making it up at this point?  Give Ukraine 1,000 tanks, 10,000 pieces of artillery, and a whole wing of F-16's, and tell the American people it was all worth $100, because we said so.

It doesn't appear that anyone cares anymore.

CNN ran a story this morning quoting a Ukrainian pilot saying they "Couldn't do anything" against the Russian Air Force.

They later updated the article headline as it was apparently too revealing of the struggles of the Ukrainian forces.

The original article removed from CNN, but still available on its affiliate websites:
