I'm kidding of course, but it's amazing how many people think this way. I've been called a "libtard socialist" just because I dared to criticize Trump and I've been called a "Trumpster" if I gave any credit to Trump for anything decent that's happened in the past 3 years. It's absurd. I just want corruption to be investigated, congress to learn about compromise, corporate money out of politics, and for the judiciary to be apolitical, but I guess that makes me an enemy to both parties.

This big time ^^.... I've been called the same from both sides, and I am way right of most so called conservatives today. The current POTUS is a DA in so many ways but many things he has accomplished are worth affirming. And while he is self serving, much like most of the past presidents have been, I think he really does love our country and I'm not sure I can say that about the immediate past guy.

Hey man as long as it is impartial and not politically biased then sure. I think the gripe many of us have is the hypocrisy (I.e not a word about the content of Trump’s call: Biden’s shady involvement in Ukraine but a lot of hoo hah about impeachment.) That being said, I don’t see anything impeachable in Trump’s transcript, and given the current political animosity towards the president - am skeptical about this Lt Col’s intentions. Maybe if we hadn’t heard about impeachment and crying wolf since before Trump took office we would be a little more interested.

I would also like everyone held to a high standard of conduct because we want decent human beings making decisions for us. But let's face facts, that's not how high-level government operates. For many (most?) at that level, the ethics and values that you and I conduct our lives in accordance with are, for them, arbitrary boundaries and obstacles to the pursuit of wealth and power while only being useful as weapons against political opponents. I would like for a room full of people like you to investigate and hold Trump, Biden, Clinton, and all the others to the same standards. But to reach a position where you'd have the power to do that, you would have had to compromise your own principles every step of the way. Only the corrupt can investigate the corrupt.

Let's get corrupt Democrats to investigate Trump, corrupt Republicans to investigate Biden, and get rid of both.

There’s a Republican standard and a Democratic standard and both seem willing to call out the speck in the others eye while missing the log in their own. Some of these double standards would be just absurd if it wasn’t tragic what it is doing to the nation, let alone the precedents for the future of the federal government. What bothers me the most is that there is a sliding scale of wrong doing that keeps getting more slippery. And yet it’s considered justifiable moral equivalency if it comes from your party. Republicans can’t judge Trump against the law or the Consitution any more than the Democrats can’t judge their own folks.

The latest victim is Nikki Haley, once idolized by the left for her out spoken "with all do respect sir" comment, she has now been thrown under the bus for her revelation in her book that she would not join Tillerson or Kelly in what, at it's smallest, was insubordination, and at it's largest, potentially a coup. Either way, there is a disturbing lack of outrage over Kelly and Tillerson's attempts to undermine democracy.
November 14, 20196 yr Stock market up again in multiple days of record territory. Low unemployment including historic lows for unemployment for various minorities. Killing of a really bad guy overseas. Historic number of judicial placements. Unprecedented deficits and federal debt which is getting very little attention. Seems alargely offensive position. Literally partisan impeachment inquiry. Indeed, the only tiny bit of bipartisanship was against proceeding. John Dean, convicted felon and disbarred attorney again saying something is worse than Watergate (only in America can you make a career off that). Philosophical wondering of if Trump's 'crime' was seeking political dirt against a rival, then how can political rivals be allowed to sit in judgement in the Senate? Second wave of Democrat presidential candidates ashore, wading past the rhetorical bodies of Swallwell, O'Rourke, and whoever else quit thus far. Seems a defensive position. But they did have the threesome gal there for a bit, so some sexiness. And Hillary, who is still not President, squawking about running again. It just won't die...

And my previous post related to the current outlook for the 2020 Presidential election is not denigrating one side. If I'm one side, I'm feeling pretty optimistic. If I'm on the other, perhaps not. November 14, 20196 yr I wonder how many people on this forum own transgender cats...especially in this thread.
November 20, 20196 yr A tasty, if dry, cocktail prior to the main course FISA report being released supposedly around the first of December. https://oig.justice.gov/reports/2019/a20009.pdf Senate hearings on the FISA report are scheduled to begin 11 December.
February 5, 20205 yr Well that was one for the books. BG McGee honored, his 13 year old grandson wants to go to the academy and join the Space Force, 10 year old impoverished girl gets to pick her school, deployed family reunion, and stage 4 cancer patient Rush Limbaugh given the presidential medal of freedom. Of course there was a great deal of showmanship but last night Trump delivered a message of optimism and positivity for this country. The economic, foreign policy and military successes cannot be denied. On the other hand, you saw a career politician; that has run California into the ground, rip up the speech like a petulant child, and most of the rest of her colleagues sitting there pouting like children. It was a look of defeat. I even saw some Democrats, like AZ senator Simek, stand up and applaud only to be given the stink eye from Pelosi. I think it is safe to say we will see 4 more years of Trump.
February 5, 20205 yr Hey, look at this way; Hillary and Romney are still not President. All in all, a good use of three or so months of gubmint time and effort.

February 20, 20205 yr Not my candidate by a long shot, but funny is funny. Including the pearl clutching at the "doctored video" drama being claimed. Humor - what a concept.
February 21, 20205 yr 4 more years, seems probable. Spitballing - Dare I say the word “Reset.” Never has a President experienced an onslaught of detractors/distractions whatever you want to call it. Whether you agree upon any of the declared accomplishments of The Donald, he has executed more decisions and been far more effective regarding his pre-elected declarations/promises of what he will get done than any other President of recent memory (Definitely during the past 8 elections in which I could vote). All with cannons to the left and right of him. So many Conspiracy Theories using: Russian Collusion, Seth Rich, James Comey, Brett Kavanaugh, sex scandals/allegations, Envelopes at the Bush Funeral, Jeffrey Epstein, Anthony Weiner, Julian Assange, Roger Stone, Pelosi, Schumer, Schiff & friends, Ukraine issues involving both Don & Joe, growing list of judges, Russian involvement coming out of remission now and the list goes on and on. True or not, what if it all of it were to be determined/proven as an unfair suppression or attempted political execution of a sitting President. Maybe the meme showing Trump in office indefinitely (years scrolling up and up) wasn’t just a jab. Is Ivanka being groomed, etc. New Rumor: Reset and delay Presidential elections until 2022?, 24? Maybe not a new rumor, but it was an interesting topic/submission if the stars were aligned for them. *Its just intriguing/mind numbing to see an entire list of accusations being used to drive the other kid out of their playpen/sandbox.

February 25, 20205 yr Rambling perhaps or rather Rumbling, at least you were paying attention Waingro which I appreciate. What a deep state of affairs we are in.
March 6, 20205 yr Townhall meeting with the Trumpster went well to say the least. Didn’t expect anything less. It’s not that it was Fox News, it was nice to hear coherent thought verbally executed concisely and with confidence whether right or wrong according to your view. On the other side: It’s NOT going to go well if you can’t remember who your wife is, or have your wife say “Your OK Joe!” when your stage gets jumped by a Dairy Heckler, declare $150 million people are killed by guns every year in the U.S., can’t remember the Declaration of Independence end statement but replaces it with ‘You know, the thing’ OR even know what state your campaigning in. The list goes on and on. Personally I’m just trying to ignore declaring Beto as your gun clean up guy; although, the “Beto” clearance sales at the gun shows have been awesome. My wife mentioned: “Parents wouldn’t trust him to be a crossing guard guiding/protecting their children everyday and this supposedly has the potential to be The President of these United States.” If/when these two end up in the debates, it’s going to be a slaughter. Probably won’t be perceived as it went bad as much as it was just sad. I believe the opposition is hoping for a Mike Tyson vs Buster Douglas upset/outcome that happened inTokyo back in 1990. Granted, it did take 10 rounds and there won’t be but 3 Presidential Debates. *The Impeachment attempt has always made sense for the other side and has become even more apparent everyday.
March 8, 20205 yr I am amused at the Democrat party currently. The two leading candidates are both old white men. The DNC is literally ignoring the one remaining candidate, a smart minority woman. From the party who cherishes "diversity." One of them is seemingly in early Alzheimer's never mind his political record and adopting of the most leftward policies on this campaign trail. His third try, by the way. 1988, he had to withdraw after being caught plagerizing a British politician's speeches. And beaten by Obama in 2008, who he called a "clean, well-spoken black man." The other is literally a Socialist and not a member of the Democrat party. And had a heart attack during this campaign. Amazes me that Trump literally will be the youngest, healthiest contestant in the ring. That took some doing.

Maybe a democrat can help me understand....why is it that the DNC doesn't realize that (it seems to me) Tulsi Gabbard is the one candidate remaining that could actually go toe to toe with Trump and come out winning? Why is the DNC railroading her when she'd clearly get traditional swing voters and likely many never-trumpers? Is the Sanders/Biden machine really that strong?
March 11, 20205 yr So Biden had another senior moment yesterday when confronted by a union worker who was pro-2nd Amendment and had his facts together to challenge Biden on his position on guns AND his public statements regarding same. Besides cussing at the voter, Joe asks if "he wants to go outside" while having a finger in the guys face. Wonder how the press would react if someone accepts the old man's challenge. Won't actually be a physical altercation, but just the acceptance would really put Biden in a jam that the media would be hard-pressed to spin away. edited to add: A little judge on judge action. (For the liberals, don't turn your nose up because it's Fox. Strangely, given the topic, I assumed the liberal media would be all over it.) https://www.foxnews.com/politics/disorder-in-the-courts-federal-judge-blasts-justice-roberts Not sure how blatant disrespect is treated in the judiciary. Be interesting to see if there's consequences. And a lesson learned about "there are no Obama judges, no Bush judges," etc. Edited March 11, 20205 yr by brickhistory
