COVID-19 (Aka China Virus)
Quit being so hypoerbolistic. It’s definitely a serious problem, we get it, but the virus growth does not go unchecked at an asymptote forever. That’s not how it works. There’s a guy named Peter Attia, and he may be Canadian but he’s a doctor. He’s really concerned about this whole thing, but he’s also not trying to paint it as the end of the world like you are. Suggest you go find a brown paper bag, stay an appropriate distance away from other people for a while, and listen to what he has to say.

The new airline thread
No thanks; separating because I have no faith in the AD Air Force’s talent management, so not giving them the opportunity yet again.

What's wrong with the Air Force?
College library. If it was like a personal account, it would be an obscure hobby that finally found its niche.

What's wrong with the Air Force?
It is definitely draconian. I just stumbled upon a tweet of (probably real) measures from 1918. It’s like a “can you spot the difference” exercise with what we are doing 100 years later.

What's wrong with the Air Force?
I gave them the benefit of the doubt until they took Phoenix and turned it into Vista. Seems to be a program without a direction. Pathfinder even more so. Common theme of those? Not focused on having a tactically competent force.

Flying Videos Thread Part 2?
Las Vegas running CTAF ops. I knew all those patterns at NTAs would pay off. Pretty neat, though.

What's wrong with the Air Force?
He’s pretty spot on for GSC, which is half CAF half MAF monster in which we’re currently picking the worst traits of both to build culture

Retirement / Separation Considerations
On the separations page of vMPF there was a disclaimer about only being able to delay/change/withdraw separation for certain circumstances. Will look tomorrow to confirm accuracy of my words and reg associated.

Hell, insert control freak squadron commander sts into that line. AF has been fanning that flaming characteristic since they were SOS DG and became anointed.- The Next President is...
Not at all, it will only further embolden them to embrace more extreme positions sts because “we didn’t go far enough.”- Promotion and PRF Information
I’ll be honest, you win for question I least expected with all the shit going on.- What's wrong with the Air Force?
People who go through URT are factually not pilots. You’re also talking from shortsightedness: for at least ten years the majority of this forum was advocating for a companion trainers for pilots assigned to UAVs. Frankly, the spirit of this article sounds a lot like gratuitous whining like Longhorn alludes to than any actionable solution.- WTF? (**NSFW**)
- The Next President is...
nsplayr, you used a phrasing I’ve commonly heard: that Bernie didn’t expand his coalition (similar to some media articles that he didn’t shift to attract wider coalition) He’s genuinely not interested in moving his platform to what the electorate wants. He thinks the electorate should flex to his platform. And that’s a fatal flaw.- The new airline thread
And then Angela Merkel said “70% of the country could be infected.” First off, if we’re just throwing out hypotheticals, make it more farcical, 10% rule it. Second, as the leader of a country that’s pretty irresponsible to say with roughly no basis.- Brown Nominated to be Next CSAF
Maybe...but is he going to hold the frozen middle accountable? Seems like each recent CSAF has great background/ideas, but the same difficulty executing because of the bureaucracy in between.- Elon Musk: "The fighter jet era has passed"
Are you under the impression that current IR missiles don’t already visually distinguish flares from airplane silhouettes?- That Cyber Thread
There's a certain amount you don't want your enemy to know what you know, because then they counter your counter. However... ^There's also this angle.- Finally done in Afghanistan?
True, quite the task to change the entire culture of a place, especially when the literacy rate is so low. Trying to use the military as a nation building force was always questionable at best, and not sure we ever had an end state in mind, past fall 2011.- Finally done in Afghanistan?
In August 2001 there were, which is probably what he’s on about.- Degradation of SUPT
Of course, makes sense in bizarro world.- Degradation of SUPT
