  1. Police are on the search for a group of thugs/anarchists who surrounded and attacked an Air Force pilot in Olympia, Washington. The service member has not been identified but it has been confirmed that he is stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The pilot came under attack when he was riding his motorcycle through downtown Olympia on Saturday night. According to the police the protestors surrounded him when they noticed that the pilot had two Confederate flags on the back of his motorcycle. After ripping the flags from the back of his bike they beat him with a bat and smashed a glass bottle over his head. They also attempted to knock his motorcycle to the ground while spraying mace in his eyes. According to Fox, witness that tried to help the pilot were also sprayed in the face with mace. The pilot is suffered severe eye irritation and a bruised shoulder. Police are referring to the attackers as a “local hate group” because their actions and message was violence and hatred. It has also been reported that the group carried and anti-police banner during their protest. The Olympia Police Department is currently looking for more information surrounding the incident. 2. Damn. Was it a military or civilian demo?
  3. Agreed. Crushing a dude in front of his family, friends, and peers isn't cool. It's not like he wanted an F-22 and got an F-16 or a C-17 and got an E-8 and he/she made a scene. It's squashing their dream of flying. Giving him a heads up a day before so he can have some composure is the right thing to do IMO.
  4. That's all great that you declared it a spy device, but is there a legal precedence for shooting at someone spying on you? It's fairly well documented that you can't discharge your weapon into the air in most situations...and destroying someones private property is another thing that's generally illegal. (and I completely agree that the drone deserved to get shot down (if story is accurate) but that doesn't mean it's legal)
  5. I feel like this style contract needs to happen more often...

This looks pretty bad ass. Honestly, the trailer has removed any doubt I had about Affleck being able to pull off Bruce Wayne/Batman. Also looks pretty good. Interesting to see DC coming back from the grave since Marvel has been doing hit after hit recently. And is Margot Robbie/Harley Quinn strangely attractive to anyone else?

Saw Ant-Man. I enjoyed it. It really didn't take itself too seriously and Michael Pena's character was hilarious.
  8. Care to expand? Every mention of Cobra Kai in this thread is positive.
  9. Boulevard 80 Acre is my new default. If you like hoppy wheat's I'd highly recommend.
  10. I'd venture to guess so you can shoot an AIM-9X with a virtual unlimited employment envelope. Oh the guy is under me? I don't even have to roll and then look up for him, I can just look down at my crotch and the missile will see him. Gives a whole new definition to "look down, shoot down" in that scenario too.
  11. Why did Australia even want a VSTOL model in the first place? Edit: Just saw they have two assault style carriers.
  12. This. I love my 2 piece for those lovely Deid preflights.
  13. Some counter arguments: The MEU with air support from an amphibious assault ship is still the primary plan rather than AV-8's on the ground in country. And just because recently the Navy has enjoyed the success of twin engine airplanes doesn't mean it lacks a history with successful single engine fighters (ie: A-7, F-8, A-4).

Not sure I will be able to drop another pound off without going full SBR. I'll be happy if it's in mid 4's after I throw the optic on there. Parts so far: New Frontier Armory polymer complete lower (came built with buffer tube, stock, and polymer LPK) - 27.3oz V7 upper reciever sans fwd assist & dust cover - 6.3oz Voodoo 14.5" mid length lite barrel - 19.1oz AP Customs carbon fiber handguard - 7.9oz V7 barrel nut - 0.7oz V7 gas block - 0.8oz BCM Gunfighter charging handle - 1.2oz

Mostly just to see how light I can make it. Forgot to mention it will also be getting an Aimpoint Micro T-1 for an optic and a different set of BUIS (the Troy BUIS in FDE currently on the gun I just had laying around). But when I am done with it I expect the reliability to be on par with any of my other AR-15s. I know there is a lot of suspicion about polymer lowers but aside from it getting run over by a tank I have no doubt that this gun will go bang every time I pull the trigger.
  16. Just who we want molding/setting the example for future officers...
  17. Said it was carrying cargo and pax hitching a ride to remote islands. Granted I have no idea what the usable weight is on a herk but I can't help but think some combo of weight and balance might have been a contributor...

Well getting off my ass and finishing my lightweight built. I'd say I am 80% done now, just missing a lightweight BCG, lightweight buffer, gas tube, gas block, and pinning the muzzle device. I'll gain .8 oz with the V7 gas block and maybe .1 oz with the tube but then plan to lose a bunch with a high end BCG. The barrel and hand guard are not torqued down. I only put them on hand tight to check and make sure everything fits. So that's why there is an egregious hole between the upper and handguard. For reference, an unloaded milspec M-4 weights 6.36 lbs.
  19. Devil's advocate: That's all good in theory until someone back in Washington says we need to visually ID the target before engaging.
