  1. Speaking of...when are the green boots and ABU/sand color tshirts banned from wearing while in the bag?
  2. Okay got it. I had both of those but was also expecting a back payment for a couple months tax free...figured the $7800 was that. I was wrong, guess it's all the ACP! Now back to waiting for my tax free. 😂
  3. Seriously...I figured 22% "bonus" tax from the feds and my HOR is Illinois so I've never paid state tax...that's why I partially think this $19k isn't bonus related. But if Moose is right then I guess that's the only logical explanation and I'll just have to figure out how the hell I got into the ~40% tax bracket.
  4. The ACP is supposed to pay out monthly, right? I signed for the 3 year option ($35k/yr) about 2 weeks ago and I just received a sizable deposit from DFAS today (~$19k) and I'm under the impression that is incorrect.
  5. Sorry, should have clarified, we are heavies. So looking to see if they are superior to the 2PFDU not the bag.
  6. Anyone have any experience with the ejection seat approved OCP? I saw one recently and it looks way better than the current A2CU/2PFDU/WTFISITCALLED. I really hate the current version with my collar velcro getting stuck on my massive shoulder velcro, it fitting like a bag of ass, etc. I'm projected to move into a new job with some pull on the purse strings so hoping (if warranted) to try and get all the aircrew the new version rather than the current turd.
  7. It's about damn time North Korea had a strong minority female leader. I hope she destroys the patriarchy. ...she also gives off a total praying mantis vibe.
  8. I mean, Russia tried to flex with their carrier participating in operations over Syria...and how did that work out for them? Clever timing for China to run this...but is anyone actually scared of their floating casino?
  9. Unless there is a crazy cleaning or 3 day wait between changes...I don't think that will work. Isn't COVID-19 pretty resilient outside of a host on normal surfaces? And I've tried to think about this too for my Command Post. We paired up people to minimize our normally constant changing partners (2 people a shift, 2x 12 hour shifts a day). But...it's my understanding that if someone get's it then basically everyone going through there has a high chance of catching it because it survives for ~3 days on normal surfaces. Oh, and base supply is out of cleaning products so our current supply of lysol, hand sanitizer, and klorox wipes are all we have.
  10. Bah, I was looking forward to attending the MacDill AFB...hope they don't cancel it.
  11. A lessons learned I'd like to pass on from my PC process: The medical approval process for the Reserves / Guard is a lot longer than you'd think. BUT, it is fairly easy to get your "1288's suspense of 60 days after tentative approval" extended. Just talk to your ISR and I ended up getting mine extended an extra 30 days. I was sweating it pretty bad with the nightmare of them cancelling my PC if I busted the suspense.
  12. Don't play games with your availability. Until your PC is approved, then your date of availability should be the end of your ADSC (be it PCS, UPT, or GI Bill Transfer). When your PC is approved THEN move your DoS.
  13. And I still had to lug around a 100lb bag of nearly-useless flip at the same time even though I had an iPad and some GO already took credit for saving the eleventy-billion dollars of fake money in fuel savings.
  14. Where you seeing that? The -46 should have the same wing as a 767-200/300 at ~156 feet. The -400 has a bigger wing.
  15. I believe it had something to do with weight. They couldn't put the MPRS pods and winglets on without beefing up the wing spars more...and I think Boeing/AF was doing everything they could to keep the weight down (ie: carbon floor, removeable shitter, no T/Rs, etc...which ironically has also caused more issues than anyone could have guessed).
  16. This thread reminded me to take out the garbage in my office yesterday. So thanks for that.
  17. Star Wars was meh. It wasn't bad...but I went in with high hopes and it didn't really deliver. Just manage your expectations and don't expect an Avengers End Game level of conclusion to the saga.
  18. Knives Out was pretty good. Chris Evans makes are really good asshole and Daniel Craig half pulled off a southern twang.
  19. Absolutely terrible.
  20. Saw Midway today. Not a bad flick once/if you get past the early 2000's quality CGI. Pearl Harbor crushed it in terms of graphics and that came out when again? Otherwise the story started back in the mid-30's, then Pearl Harbor, then touched a tad on the Doolittle Raids, and finally onto the Coral Sea and Midway.
  21. Noper, there is push to make OSA a bit younger now. Pretty sure they are tired of 3rd assignment punching when their PCS/ADSC ends right around the 2 year time on station mark. Downside, this discriminates against the shorter 1st assignment guys where it's basically impossible to make IP on your first gig. KC10s and C5s have a leg up over C-17/C-130/KC-135 IMO. Less bases = less PCS = upgrade sooner. 89th has an hour requirement...Hickam/Ramstein/Scott doesn't have the dog & pony show associated with the OSA application. No AC's because of the 2 year track to upgrade. I finished upgrade recently, should Palace Chase in March, dude "behind" me has same arrival date to the unit but will be Palace Front in Dec and isn't gonna upgrade. We are all former IP's or EP's but upgrade is slow. Not sure how the other C-40/C-37 units do it but there is a major slow down with the TFA. From what I know of the C-21 guys, it's a way different upgrade timeline. Definitely apples to oranges.
  22. OSA is bleeding talent like crazy too. Only two guys in my Sq are staying and they wanted (and got) school. Then there are fours Lt Col's just waiting to get 20. Otherwise, had one school select say fuck it and is Palace Fronting. 3 other guys (me included) are Palace Chasing. Not gonna have a single active duty AC in the squadron come March...just co pilots and two IPs.
