  1. This is a great point, once we established air superiority against the Taliban, the Houthis, & HTS we've dominated. That's why Afghanistan, Yemen and Syria are solid victories for the US 🇺🇸 Honorable mention to Libya, Somalia, Mali. And the "all air power no-fly zones" from Iraq in the 90s definitely prevented a decades long ground war. You seem like someone who spent the last 20 years fighting all over the world gaining a wealth of practical combat experience, not at all a new guy.

  2. Rather have this dude than DEI Lloyd who fucked away Afghanistan, was in a coma while an active member of the NCA, no strategy on Ukraine, and wore a double Covid mask and face shield while in public.

  5. @Sua Sponte I know you, dude, and I know you're one of the good guys. I do sincerely hope that you aren't fired and caught up in this churn.

  6. This whole debate (to use the term generously) boggles my mind. While I'm sympathetic to Ukrainians' plight, and I certainly don't love, like or trust Putin, it is well past time for the killing to stop and a negotiated peace to begin. Trump and Vance are clearly of that mindset. If Zelensky wants to spurn peace dealings and keep fighting the Russians, despite the catastrophic consequences for his own country, that's his prerogative. Same if he wants to convince Europe to get involved via more funding or even ground troops. However, the perspective I find the most sensible (in brief, a combination of "lives matter" and "America first") holds that our involvement focus on trying to end this war, not pouring billions upon billions of dollars into sustaining it. Like a few others on this forum, I have a hard time understanding what actual outcome the Slava Ukraini/Fnck Russia types here envision or find possible considering the war's current state of play and the occupant of the White House.

  7. Thanks for posting the chart . Note that all altitudes are specified as MSl. To me this whole airspace design was normalized deviance . This crash was baked right into the airspace design. if this event had gone perfectly the airliner could have passed 125 feet over the helicopter. That is insane and would be a reportable near miss anywhere else.

  8. Wasting one minute of every civilian employees’ time costs a little over $1 million. 10 minutes per week costs the taxpayers over $10m per week. Maybe the manpower cuts will result in lower costs per minute. Maybe the waste from this activity will be worthwhile, but it’s not costless.

  9. Or, arguing with you is like playing chess with a pigeon. You just knock over all the pieces, shit on the board, and strut around like you won the match. There are more interesting people to converse with here. Though you are occasionally amusing.

  11. Is there any chance you’ve been misled by the MSM regarding the precise nature of SECDEF cyber order? I personally don’t know what going on, but the MSM lies constantly and here we have someone in the know disputing your assertion. 🤷🏽‍♂️ Also curious if you can explain the “POG” characterization since the dude literally deployed as an infantry officer in combat?

  13. What would it take to push Russia out of UK completely? How many lives? How much $$$? does UK have the personnel to do this? Does the EU have the will to spend and support? The war is basically a stalemate with Russia slowly grinding forward. The effort to push Russia out is too great. i think making a deal for peace and resources is in the best interest ok the Ukraine ppl. the current involvement will drag this on for another 3 yrs. We’ll spend billions, uk will lose another couple hundred thousand men and Russia will gain 15% more land. also we only really know what we’ve been told. Lots of questions to be answered.

  15. I never worked for an exec, but I did receive taskers like this. Me saying "I don't work for the exec" and ignoring him would be stupid because clearly the exec was doing something on behalf of his boss, who was my boss's boss. I also find it more than a little funny that most of the people complaining about this have spent 100X more time complaining about it than just doing it. This is like listening to my kids complain for an hour about homework that only takes them 5 minutes once they stop fussing and just do it. This does not violate your oath of office and should not violate your morals, so stop whining, just do it, and move on with your life.

  16. Huh. No way. The structure and style of your reply doesn't match your earlier replies. And you wrote all of that in a few minutes. This reply is exactly that of a language model. It's why you didn't hit the reply button. I copied and pasted my post into ChatGPT, told it to create a rebuttal, and got a similar response. I'm sure you want to portray yourself as noble individual, right and wrong, and all that. You probably have some morals, values, and principles. Answer me this: Did you use ChatGPT or any other language model to help you create a response to my earlier post? I noticed that the response you copied and pasted above didn't address anything pertaining to your personal belief. That's the flaw in ChatGPT. Should American soldiers be committed to directly engage Russia over the conflict in Ukraine? Are you willing to go? LLMs can't answer this.

  19. If you're going to attempt petty insults, at least embed them in some sort of a rational argument. Otherwise, it only appears you're trying to deflect from a debate you can't win. I've been here more than 20 years. I have seen every debate tactic. You're simply not going to have an effect. Either win, or find another way to cope. Why didn't you just combine the posts? Not once have I ever said Russia was our friend. But their threat the the United States is as ineffectual as your insults are to my feelings. For the record, I love my country and I support the decisions our country is making with regard to this conflict. It seems you're a little put off by the position the USA has taken with regard to seeking peace. You don't dislike America, right? You don't seem supportive of the idea of peace and stability. Very strange.

  20. Right into personally attacking me, huh? I never implied I’m not on your side, whatever that is. The guy is literally a talking head on Russian-paid state TV.

  23. Yeah, it’s an unaware echo chamber that doesn’t realize how small a sample size they are so remain convinced everyone must agree with them, obviously. At least I recognize how typically singular the line of thought on Baseops is!

  24. There is an entire difference between “Standards” and “meaningless hills to die on invented by some shoe clerk to give their career/position purpose.” The inability by senior leadership to even acknowledge that both are going on throughout ranks and services is exactly the kind of shit that causes you and others to stand dumbfounded at your warfighters and tactical leaders not simply toe the line because some anointed E9 from the second group tells you, “we’ve got a problem with discipline.” Stop inventing stupid standards and crush anybody that does so we can spend the energy on enforcement of standards where it god damn matters, Sir. The next time some E8/9 is doing uniform spot checks I’m going to make them conduct a log book recon because that will actually get somebody killed and is the job those crew dawgs are here to do, and they can in fact do it while wearing white socks *gasp/horror. 25. Meanwhile: "Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth orders a halt to offensive cyber operations against Russia Russia has intensified cyber operations against Ukraine and NATO countries, according to previous U.S. intelligence and private sector reports." Glad we have a washed up POG Major in charge. I'd rather have the ridiculousness of the red scare than this pathetic display.

  26. Considering the sheer number of agencies reporting it and that our allies are commenting on it, I'm inclined to believe it over a random rep. Regarding POG, oops my bad. Actually confused him with our illustrious POG VP. Not to be confused with the newest Navy secretary who has 0 military or defense experience. Funny how everyone is an unqualified white male in this admin. Does that make them DEI hires?
