So, since when did they start dropping B-2's in UPT? I thought that was something that you couldn't get until later like the F-117 etc. Can someone explain this to me? What makes the AF decide to drop certain planes in UPT and not others?

I read in the latest Air Force Assoc. magazine that when the B-2 program gets a makeover next year (avionics, new skins, etc.)it quite possibly will include an addition of a 3rd pilot. They say the B-2 has plenty of room for a third crewman and that it would be beneficial to have a 3rd pilot on long combat missions. My question is do adjustments like this call for more pilot's to be trained and go straight to the B-2 program from UPT (if qualified)? Or is the B-2 program overloaded with pilots? Just curious.

What is the current (and projected) TDY/deployment rates of the Buffs? I understand that they are not deployed in the normal AEF cycle. Also, where do they go when they do go overseas? Just trying to find out my options as an EWO.....

Anybody hear about this? Saw some email on it and it's a plane/mission/deployment I'd never heard of. Not shopping for deployments...but it's always nice to see what's out there. Sorta seems like a manned UAV but anything beats the 'Died. Unless it operates out of the 'Died of course. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battlefield_Airborne_Communications_Node Edit: I searched but couldn't find anything

I was laid off from my job a little over a year ago. I am going back into the reserves as a flight engineer. I have finished my physical and everything and just waiting to hear back, but the recruiter sent me an e-mail stating that i need to fill out paperwork for my security clear and she said if I have marks on my credit that they need to be explained. My thing is that the economy is crap and i really only have knocks on my credit from my student loans. Will this prevent me from getting in? Thanks

I'm sure some of you have came across this on the net but for those of you who haven't enjoy. I am glad they had more than 2 guys in the flight deck to keep up on the faults the computer was spitting out. I guess the Aussie term "Flat Out" is task saturated. Quick question. Its been a couple years since I've been at Bagram and I'm heading back soon. I was wondering if anyone there now has any idea what the internet situation is? Last time, you had to hand over your computer to some sketchy dude that messed with it for a few minutes and then you had to connect to a crappy wired system that sucked anyways. I'm asking because I would like to use an iPad or iPod touch and do the Facetime thing with my kids. Is there WiFi now and how is the connections for doing what I mentioned or skype, etc.? I tried finding older threads in the search and I couldn't find anything. If opsec stuff is an issue, then just send me a message. …

I recently got tasked to go to Balad for 120 days. I've never been to The Sandbox before, although I have wanted to for some time. I leave some time in March. I just wondered if any of you guys/gals who have had the experience could tell me anything about their trips.

Holy crap...as far as I can tell, this is actually a pretty damn good idea. Base gyms to be open 24/7 Summary: On commander approval, gyms will stay open 24/7, with access via CAC and security cameras in place. Surely, something or somebody will f*** this up.

Ladies and Gentlemen, First, I would like to say thanks to all ardent supporters of Baseops.Net, and to all the loyal customers of this site. I do appreciate everyone's concerns regarding the "AMC BAN" on Baseops, however, it does seem that several people listed in the email were inundated with phone calls, emails, complaints, and possibly death threats. Since then, the email and message threads have been removed. I do hope that the recipients of those emails, etc., understand that they were the result of our overzealous supporters fearing that Baseops.Net was being banned. This was not meant to be an attack on those individuals. Baseops.Net is however, trying to …

OK so as much as I know about planes and aviation, I wasn't so sure about the answer to this one (given that I haven't flown yet). Anywho, I've heard that the rudder isn't used so much on larger jets, as opposed to props-can anyone clarify this, and why this is? Thanks.
