I'm currently in an MBA program (after about seven years active duty and now a dirty Guard guy on the side) and am in the summer internship search process. I got an email today from Pratt and Whitney about their summer internship program, and am going to talk to someone in their HR department hopefully this week to get the what's what on the job. I am a recent CSO grad and am starting the pipeline for the HC-130, I am going to the 71st Rescue Squadron at Moody. I have read through all the HC/MC threads I can find but would like to get more current info, plus any 71RQS specific info I can. Any helpful advice, info on what current deployments/deployment schedule is like, info about what type of stuff HC's are currently doing when deployed would be great! I've been thinking that a large, upcoming problem will be the downsizing of the Military with a weak economy. Expectations are a million folks in the next few years will transfer from Military life to Civilian life. Looks like the USAF is on the hook to support a French deployment to the Central African Republic (CAR). Currently its airlift (C-17s) burt Tankers and ISR will probably follow. Has anyone who has been approved for the FY 14 or 15 VSP received any concrete info on Transfer of Education Benifits (TEB) for children? The PSDM states: "6. Hey folks. So I'm headed to UPT pretty soon and in the meantime I'm trying to plan ahead for the future. I'm an engineer by trade and for the last 10 years have been working in an office. I have no desire to have a full time office/desk gig ever in the future again, and I'm working on getting into some independent consulting (out of my house) on the side after training when I'm not doing Air Force stuff all the time. Just curious what other small businesses traditional reservists/guardsmen have to work on in their free time. I have seen a number of realtors and flight instructors, but I'm curious to see what else people have done or are doing and how successful its been. …
