Got a weird one. I applied for a ADSC waiver (personal hardship) for retirement. The request was denied, however, due to manning (11M), the request was changed to “best interest of the AF” and the waiver was approved for 9 months off ADSC. My question, if it’s Best interest of the AF, does that still qualify me to keep the final bonus payment? TIA

An F-15 suffered at mishap at MidAmerica airport near St. Louis, in which one of two aircrew ejected from the jet, according to local news outlets and Boeing. It’s not clear if both pilots attempted to eject, but local news station KMOV4 reported one pilot refused treatment while the other was taken to the hospital “with minor injuries.” Images of the aircraft show it without national markings and in the Qatari configuration and paint scheme. It appears to be sitting on its landing gea with the canopy missing... https://www.airforcemag.com/f-15-accident-in-st-louis/

https://www.wsj.com/articles/fedex-pilot-detained-by-police-in-southern-china-sources-11568906801 This whole situation really smells bad. Best wishes for Col Hohn and his family. I fear he is being used as a political pawn of convenience.

One of the few good things about a joint job is that you get jokes from the other services. I received this today and thought it was pretty funny... Cheers! M2 Dear Shipmates: It has been brought to the Wardroom's attention that some individuals throughout the ship have been using foul language during the course of normal conversation with their shipmates. Due to complaints received from some sailors who may be easily offended, this type of language will no longer be tolerated. We do, however, realize the critical importance of being able to accurately express your feelings when communicating with shipmates. Therefore, a list of 18 new and innovative "TRY S…

https://www.herald-review.com/articles/2006...ews/1018165.txt DECATUR - Mike Copsy thought an airplane was flying awfully low about midday Monday. Play Video The motorist, who lives in rural Charleston, looked to see if the plane landed safely at Decatur Airport, and he saw smoke. Firetrucks soon arrived three-tenths of a mile from the end of the runway to knock down a blaze. "The engines (of the plane) were still going when they were hosing it down," he said. Two crew members walked away from a crash of a small military trainer jet, said airport director Gene Marcinkowski. One person suffered a broken ankle, and the other was uninjured, Marcinkowski…

Here's a kiss-my-butt/goodbye posting from a jarhead aviator. I'm not going to comment on it, but it sure is an interesting read. https://austin.craigslist.com/about/best/wdc/118782492.html [ 04. April 2006, 20:56: Message edited by: LJDRVR ]

I am a current AD 62E Officer who was lucky enough to get picked up for UPT on this year’s Active-Duty UFT Board. I am thrilled to finally be living out the dream but am seeking advice for those who have been in my shoes.....late to rate. I am a 1st Lt who, pending any drastic UPT scheduling delays, should be completing UPT right around the time I hit Capt. As someone who is currently removed from the flying community, I have all of these aspirations for making the most of my flying time, and hope to get plenty of operational experience, and even have hopes of potentially attending WIC. I also (potentially naively?) plan to retire, as I sit here at a little ov…

Why is it that everyone except home-grown Americans seem to understand what makes our country great? Is it just me that thinks it's sad that foreigners appreciate American more than Americans do? https://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/11/25/...inge-112508.php Discuss. FF

Off the street guard hire, just PCSd to home unit after finishing B Course. Finance is refusing to pay DLA because they are considering it my "final PCS" I also had to stay in a hotel / friends couch for 20 days because my HHG shipment was 3 weeks late delivery. I tried to claim 10 days TLE and they are also not paying, stating the "final PCS" reason I've read the JTR... I think I'm eligible for both. Anyone have other interpretations of it?

I am a recent CSO grad and am starting the pipeline for the HC-130, I am going to the 71st Rescue Squadron at Moody. I have read through all the HC/MC threads I can find but would like to get more current info, plus any 71RQS specific info I can. Any helpful advice, info on what current deployments/deployment schedule is like, info about what type of stuff HC's are currently doing when deployed would be great! My RNLT Date is 28 Jun 2013 for moody, I start Little Rock next month, and do not yet have dates for SERE and Kirtland. so any tips for the pipeline would also be appreciated. current Moody info would also be appreciated. Everything I find is from when it wa…

I'm honestly not sure how to react to this story on the BBC website. Should I express dismay at the unfortunate and sad death that resulted, or should I laugh quietly and think they have some kind of shit-hot bomb aiming gear on that C130? And what are the odds of this happening? link The picture of an RAF Herc that accompanies the article is captioned "The RAF tries to reach local people with leaflet drops". I wonder if the copywriter didn't have some kind of warped sense of humor also.

Just looking for some information on flying C-37s in Belgium. How big the unit is, how much flying, where most live near Chievres, etc. I might have an opportunity to go out there, but have never lived in Europe. I haven't heard too many people say they hated their time overseas in Europe, but just want to make sure the fam is happy there. Thanks! Techsan
