The new airline thread
Doubtful if basic type ratings with no significant hours behind them mean a whole lot anymore. Remember those times long ago when Southwest demanded a 73 type rating and FedEx, etc. would slap you in a quick sim; therefore, many were getting a few hours in types to prepare - that’s gone to the wayside like the Dodo bird. Remember when 4 year degrees were a thing… Those delineator’s are long gone it would seem. My interview at Giant is waaaay different this past decade from almost 15 years ago and it still fluctuates depending upon who is driving the train or upsets that have occurred from within. Timing is everything especially for those who hit the front end of the hiring wave and ran up the seniority flag pole quite rapidly. It’s rather slow comparatively for now, but this is a cyclic industry no doubt. Brabus is on point, your military flying career significantly outweighs anything the airlines or I do now regarding air/land only routines. Easiest gig ever when personal cost vs pay vs pressure analysis is weighed overall.

I heard one report that stated the attacker fired one round of buckshot at close range that impacted the one Secret Service Agent in the chest and he returned fire - five rounds? Injured Secret Service agent fired five shots at Cole during Trump assassination attempt"An injured U.S. Secret Service officer fired five shots at a gunman who was allegedly attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump during an attack on the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner Saturday evening. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said the officer was struck by a firearm in the chest but was protected by a ballistic vest and returned fire five times, before the 31-year-old suspect Cole Tomas Allen fell to the ground." Atttorney general confirmed he tripeed and was shot at 5 times by one officer with no impacts. The agent that was shot might have taken one of the 5 shots....ballistics pending. Probably not too hard at this point to determine what shot him due to the shotgun the dude had. Looking like friendly fire.

Ah yes, the "skin on the line" defense. The second cousin of the wookie defense.

Venezuela and Narco Boats
Big difference, he quite literally put his own skin on the line. I say let him keep it.

The Next President is...
That's my assumption. If you look at the video where he runs by, everybody draws their gun and just stands there pointing him in the same direction. They aren't running or moving after him. So I'm wondering if he just ran straight into a closed door or a wall, or just tripped. But I suspect if he had been running down the hall or into other rooms, they would have been in Hot pursuit. They didn't look stunned, other than the initial second or two, they looked like they were all watching him to see what the fuck he was doing.

You did. Also the fantasy land of ONLY shooting them. Hitting everyone else with center mass to vest shots with buckshot because its safer. We're lucky it's currently only the crazies trying to pull this off. Also, how does this guy not have holes in him? Did he just fall to the ground immediately after blasting with his shotty?

Did I read it correctly? Everyone in the administration was a target but Kash Patel?

Did you watch the video? Full sprint with a shot to center mass. Thank God the agent had armor on because that was a hell of a shot. 31 years old. Crazy to think you can be that indoctrinated at such a normally-stable age

Maybe its time to put Trump in a bubble. You know, for his own protection. 😁 Standby for the usual gnashing, blame, and churn on Secret Service, staff, DC LEOs, etc. The dude was stopped tho.

Yeah, I agree with him the radical left is a massive threat. They’ve proven it time and time again at all levels of society - why are you silent on it? By the way, two things can be true; you can ancknowledge all of this while also not liking Trump or his policies.

USAF VIP Bus- The new airline thread
I wonder how much a type really helps you in landing an airline job. The airline is going to make you go through their entire training program regardless of having a type rating. So, it’s no cost savings to them. It does show you can make it through a training program, but that point is already proven by one’s military career (where training programs are a 1,000 times harder than anything the airlines do).- The Next President is...
Well when the dems and their far left followers are constantly inundated with propaganda and rhetoric that dehumanizes (or outright calls for violence against) anyone seen as a political opponent, this is what we will continue to get. I wish those who are otherwise rational humans would see this and stop supporting the cult.- Thirty Years Ago Today...The Falklands War Started

School teacher from CA….wtf?- The new airline thread
Normally you’re correct. However, the KC-46 uses 787 glass in the cockpit and at the time I was in the -46 program (2020-2024), pilots were ineligible due to that reason. I don’t know if that changed back to giving them 767 type ratings since I left.- The new airline thread
In a way, the AD is already doing that by sending first assignment guys to ANG squadrons. 😁- The new airline thread
I must be missing something. If you have time in type and a Form-8, wouldn’t that automatically qualify you for the type from the FAA?- The new airline thread
The original KC-46 guys were getting 767 type ratings in Miami. The USAF put an end to that quickly. - Concept aircraft
